He darted out the mountain with a great head start, but the shadow caught up with him quickly. Just like his own shadow, no matter how fast you go, you can never outrun your shadow. What was wrong with this dragon? Was he cursed? Was Bubbles the one cursed? Whatever, he couldn't keep this up.

"Wait, wait! Why won't you talk?"

The shadow pointed agriatedly at his mouth, or where one should be. Bubbles just assumed that he couldn't speak whatsoever.

"Well, how about we head back to the mountain and you can write whatever you need to say."

The shadow thought for a moment, then reluctantly agreed. They went back, sat in the library as the shadow wrote down what he was saying.

Apparently, he was a really dark NightWing dragon cursed by an Animus who was upset that he chose Violet over her, even if she didn't like him back. She got so tired of giving him her love with nothing in return. So, she cursed the spell on him, with her last words, "I will no longer be the shadow in this relationship! From now on, you will be the one who will be shadowed!" So there he was, forever to be shadowed.

"So, it's not your fault..." Said Bubbles.

It looked like the shadow was crying, but no tears shed from darkness' eyes. Bubbles felt really sorry. No wonder he did all this. He was only trying to protect his love, Violet. In which he ultimately failed.

"Well tell you what. You can stay here and watch Violet, while I go and find Thunderwings. Deal?"

The shadow nodded, slowly.

"Good. But, watch out for anyone who might have caused this incident, okay?"

He nodded once more.

"Because I need to show them who they're messing with."
