Prologue
Annabeth took a deep breath. "You are smart. You are beautiful. You are calm. You always have a plan." Then she went over to her desk and started putting together her portfolio for the internship.
Annabeth rushed out to her car so she could go and almost ran over one of the hottest boys in her grade, Percy Jackson.
"Oh Percy! I'm so sorry!" Annabeth said as Percy laughed.
"It's okay Annabeth."
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm passing out flyers for the swim team car wash and Rachel is helping me out." Percy explained, pointing to the redhead behind him. Then he handed Annabeth a flyer. "Maybe you could stop by later. I'll wash your tires for free."
"Okay." Annabeth chuckled slightly. "Bye!" Good job on not sounding like a total dork Annabeth. Now onto the internship!

Piper quickly tore up some pictures and spread them all over the canvas. Then she quickly put purple paint all over it. She quickly checked the time, grabbed her phone and the canvas, avoided her older sister Drew, and ran out to her car so she could go to the internship.
Once she got there, she quickly ordered a smoothie and ran inside.
She approached Annabeth and smiled. "I'm Piper McLean. Could you tell Mr. Apollo that I'm here for the photography internship? Thanks!"
"Um, I don't work here, and that's also what I'm here for." Annabeth responded as Mr. Apollo's young assistant, the winner of last year's internship, Will Solace, ran up to them.
"Quiet ladies!" Will hissed. "Mr. Apollo is about to have a breakthrough!"
"Magnificent!" Mr. Apollo exclaimed.
"Awesome!" Piper whispered as Annabeth whispered "So weird."
"Anyway, hand me your portfolios and Mr. Apollo will review them before the final interviews."
"Be careful with mine. It's still wet." Piper said, handing Will her's as he looked at the wet paint.
Annabeth smiled. "Mine is, perfectly dry."
Will took Annabeth's and smiled. "Why don't you ladies sit down there and Mr. Apollo will be with you guys in a minute."
Annabeth and Piper walked over to the waiting area and sat down. Piper was the first to talk.
"Do you go to Half-Blood High?" Piper asked Annabeth.
"Yes." Annabeth responded.
"Wait, you were that nerdy sophomore in my senior Geometry class!"
"I'm not nerdy, I'm dedicated." Annabeth said, defending herself. "I've skipped the 8th grade and now I'm on the fast track for early admission to college. I have 2,000 hours of community service, straight A's, and I run my own business. I think this internship will perfectly round out my college applications."
"College applications?" Piper asked, sipping her smoothie obnoxiously. "You don't have to be a student of art! A student of art is a student of life."
Suddenly, Annabeth's phone rang, playing one of Mozart's songs. Annabeth quickly answered. "Dr. Stoll! Is this about my letter of recommendation?"
"No." Dr. Stoll answered. "Could you babysit for me? My niece bailed on us and I have no one to babysit them!"
"I would love to, but I'm already booked for the Gardner's."
"Okay. Well, if you think of anyone, let me know, okay?"
"Okay. Bye."
Piper laughed. "You babysit? What is that, 5 bucks an hour?"
"Try twenty." Annabeth countered. "Double on holidays."
"They pay you twenty bucks just to watch kids watch TV?"
Annabeth laughed. "You've obviously never babysat before."
"Ladies!" Mr. Apollo said with Will following behind. Both girls got so startled that when they both stood up, Annabeth dropped her phone as she accidentally hit Piper's smoothie, making it fall onto the ground. Piper dropped her phone in surprise.
"Klutz." Piper mumbled to Annabeth as they went down to grab their phones. Piper grabbed Annabeth's by mistake.
"Sorry." Annabeth mumbled as she grabbed Piper's phone.
"I have decided that no interviews will be needed today!" Mr. Apollo said.
"Better luck next year." Piper said.
"You wish."
"I want you two to get creative!"
"Um, define creative." Annabeth said nervously.
"Art is spontaneous! Be more spontaneous!"
"Thank you so much Mr. Apollo! I'll make sure to do that!" Piper said in Greek, Mr. Apollo's native tongue.
"And I'll be sure to do that as well! I've been experimenting with black and white!" Annabeth said, also in Greek.
"Splendid! You two have the whole weekend!" Mr. Apollo walked away with Will in tow.
"Great! But he didn't take into consideration the time constraints." Annabeth complained.
"Right..." Piper said smirking. "Have fun babysitting."

"No no no!" Piper yelled, running out to her car.
"Young lady, this is a loading zone." The police officer, Mr. Brunner, said.
"I was unloading something heavy for this amazing art internship. If you asked Mr. Apollo, I'm sure he would-" All of a sudden, Piper heard Annabeth's ringtone.
"That's Mozart, isn't it? Furlise, right?" Mr. Brunner paused. "Is that your boyfriend calling?"
"What boyfriend? I don't have a boyfriend." Piper said as she answered. "Hello strange person who I don't know."
"Hey Annabeth, it's Percy." Percy responded, all the way at the carwash. "I was wondering if you wanted to go to a Sirens concert tonight?"
"Oh, I love that band!" Piper said, looking back at Mr. Brunner. "But I'm not interested. Bye!"
"Wait, you're still writing?" Piper asked, panicked, as she ran over to Mr. Brunner. "Please don't write me up! If I get another parking ticket, my parents will take away my keys!"
"You should've thought about that before you parked in a loading zone." Mr. Brunner handed Piper the ticket before he hopped in the police car and drove away.
"80 bucks!" Piper complained. "How am I going to get 80 bucks!?" Suddenly, Annabeth's phone rang again. "Hello?"
"Annabeth, are you sure you can't think of anyone else? I'll pay double!" Dr. Stoll said as Piper got an idea.
"Of course!" Piper said, mimicking Annabeth. "My friend Piper is very responsible."
"Great! Send her over at six. Bye!"
"Bye!"

"Hey Percy. Here I am, dirty tires, as requested." Annabeth said, unaware of what Piper told him.
Percy looked at Annabeth. "Sorry. We're closed." Percy walked back over to the table with Rachel and a couple of her friends.
That's weird. Annabeth thought as she drove away to meet the Gardener's.

"Okay. Wait for me outside. And don't honk the horn this time!" Travis said, rolling his eyes as his mother entered the room.
"Travis, aren't you grounded?" She asked as Travis rolled his eyes.
"Mom!"
"Hand them over." Dr. Helen Stoll said as Travis reluctantly handed over his phone and tablet.
"Good." Dr. Stoll walked downstairs to see her other son, Conner, busy in the kitchen. "Conner, be careful while your father and I are gone, okay?"
"Okay Mom." Conner said, focusing on the icing.
Suddenly, Thalia Grace, the Stoll's adopted daughter, came skating in.
"Dad!" Thalia argued to Hermes Stoll, who she considered her father. "You promised to take me to the Hunter's roller derby tonight!"
"Thalia, I'm sorry, but your mother has to go accept her award tonight."
"Thalia honey, I promise that we'll take you to the next one."
"Fine!" Thalia exclaimed.

"Miranda, I'm gonna need your say." Demeter Gardner said to her ten year old daughter. "Should I wear my open toe, or my heels?"
"I told you to go with the strappy sandals!" Miranda complained as Mrs. Gardner noticed something.
"I told you to not go into my jewelry box!" Mrs. Gardner said, noticing her earnings on her daughter.
"But I like these earrings." Miranda complained again. "And if Katie is allowed to shave her head, I'm allowed to wear the earrings."
"Katie's shaving her head!?" Mrs. Gardner freaked, running to the bathroom where, sure enough, her 14 year old daughter was holding a razor.
"Katie! What are you doing?" Mrs. Gardner asked, taking the razor out of Katie's hand.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" Katie asked.
"Katie, you are not allowed to shave your head! You know this!"
"Whatever."
"Well, if that's all-" Miranda said, walking away.
"Miranda Gardner." Mrs. Gardner said as Miranda took off the earrings.
"This is so unfair."
And this is where, our story begins.
And here is the first chapter! Does this sound okay so far?
