I recall this on the first few days of starting school.

Usually the kids say salams when they see a teacher. So one morning, I had a swarm of kids greeting me with salam. And while that's happening I notice,

My second grader: *warns to a first grader* that's our teacher, you can't say salam to her!

Me: O.O *torn between being horrified or laughing it off*

First grader: *comes up to me and complaints about the ordeal*
