1. The Project
It was a sunny Saturday morning. The birds were singing there lovely songs and the wind is blowing gently towards the window.
The Chipmunks, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, were peacefully sleeping on their bed upstairs when all of a sudden, they were interrupted by a bell ringing.
"Oh!" Theodore groaned, covering his ears with his pillow.
The bell continued to ring making Alvin hopped off his bed to check out where's that sound's coming from.
"Hey! Can you please keep -" his voice lowered when he found out that it was Eleanor Miller ringing the bell of her bike was riding on it.
Simon and Theodore followed their brother leisurely, also curious of what's going on.
From a distance, they saw Brittany and Jeanette peaking at their window on their treehouse.
"What's going on, Ely?" asked Brittany after letting out a yawn.
"Don't you forget? We're having a little race today," Eleanor answered.
"It's six in the morning, isn't it too early for that race you're talking about?" Alvin asked annoyingly.
"Oh, come on, guys! We talked about this, remember?" Eleanor reminded, "And remember that it was your idea, Alvin!"
"W-Wait, my idea?!"
" Really?" said Eleanor, "Well, let me refresh your memory, Mister"

"Miss Smith said that in order for us to contribute anything for Earth Day, we should do something good for others and for the environment," Theodore spoke.
"I wonder what we can do," said Eleanor, spinning her mint green colored pen on her hand. "Any ideas, guys?"
"I'm thinking, what if we give free clothes to the homeless!" Brittany suggested.
"How about giving them food instead? They'll love that better than dresses," Theodore added.
"My idea is to give other kids some books so that they can learn and-" said Simon.
"Lame," Alvin uttered after clearing his throat, "Giving them parties is so much better than any of your suggestions!"
"Are you saying that my idea is lame? Oh, come, Alvin! There are many people around the world who have no ability to study and go to schools!" Simon explained.
"We should give them dresses! At least they'll have something to wear!" said Brittany.
"Hey, all of your ideas are great! What if we do it all?" Eleanor uttered.
"Eleanor, we don't have that much money for that," Theodore explained.
All of a sudden, the room was filled with chaotic questions.
"Everyone, stop fighting!" Jeanette shouted.
With a blink of an eye, the five became reticent.
"I may have an idea that'll solve our problems!" she added, beaming.
"We're listening," said Alvin.
"There's an annual bike race coming up, right?" Jeanette asked, "What if we join and if we win, we can use the money to do what each of you suggested?"
"Great idea, Jeanette. But how are we suppose to win from those big kids who will also join?" Simon asked.
"Yeah! Remember last year, one of the participants broke her arm while racing over the mysterious champion," Theodore added.
"Mysterious champion?" asked Jeannette.
"He's been a consecutive winner for three years now. No one knows him because he wears a mask," Eleanor explained.
"Oh!"
Seeing their hopes fall down, Alvin stood up and faced his friends.
"Don't say we're backing up!" he spoke, "In order for us to win that award that the principal's saying for the one who make the most amazing project this Earth Day, we have to work harder than we ever worked before!"
"So what are you planning, Alvin?" Eleanor asked.
"I say we practice starting tomorrow at six in the morning!" Alvin spoke bravely, "We'll gonna beat that mystery bike race champion once and for all!"
