Chapter 42

Last chapter you guys 😭 I wanna assure you that there will be a LOT of bonus chapters because we all love this taekook family 🥺

I will probably make an epilogue where I at the bottem will make an author's note. I will make sure to leave a line for all of you where you can write ideas for a bonus chapter you would like me to write! I will pick the ones I think I can make somewhat alright, so I hope to see some comments there! 💜

Thanks for reading so far💜

"She really... lied about everything?" Jimin asks, staring down at the old wooden table before him. They just sat down to talk with his overly kind grandfather and clear some things out.

It's like for every second that passes, Jimin feels more and more stupid. God, why did he make such a big deal out of it? Why didn't he just trust his parents from the start? Then everything would have been fine.

"She did. I'm sorry Jimin, I should have noticed... Unfortunately she keeps a lot of secrets from me, I was wondering who she was talking with doing all this time," Byung-chul states with a small sigh.

"But isn't she treating you badly? Why are you still here?" Taehyung asks. He has wondered many times why this man has decided to cope with that devil of a lady most of his life.

"Trust me, I would have if she hadn't gotten so sick. She's just a lonely old lady you know? She has even cheated on me when we were younger, but now I just live here because she makes good food and washes my clothes. It's not worse than a nursing home after all," he says and chuckles slightly.

The family looks surprised before calm and smiling expressions appears on their faces too. This man is pretty pratical for deciding to live like that, but what he said makes sense. It's not like he's planning on finding someone new to love, might as well enjoy what he has. Even if it's not very enjoyable.

"Did you also feel this way when my mother died?" Jimin asks after a minute or two, his voice small and timid.

"Yes, I haven't loved Ah-seung for many years, but my daughter will forever be in my heart," he says and holds a hand over his chest, "it's unfortunate she had to leave us like that. We didn't even get to say goodbye."

Taehyung gulps slightly at that. He never considered that maybe Byung-chul didn't know about the call he made back in the day to tell about Chaeyoung's death. He must have been left in the dark for a long time until they got contacted by the hospital.

"I'm sorry," Taehyung says.

"Don't be sorry. You were there for her and I'm overly grateful for that. Not to mention you gave me such an amazing grandson," the elder man smiles and reaches over, gently patting Jimin's hair. The boy feels tears sting in the back of his eyes as he let's his hair get cared for.

"I'm not amazing at all..."

"Of course you are. You remind me so much of my daughter, beautiful and a kind hearted," he tilts his head slightly, "and maybe a little naive?"

He chuckles when Jimin looks up in surprise, indicating that he hit the nail on the head. Maybe Jimin really is like his mother after all.

"She had her moments back then, but it became a charm at the end how blind she could be. Also, blinded by love," Byung-chul looked over at the parents, "I'm glad you found new love Taehyung. You deserve it more than anyone for taking care of a child the way you did."

Taehyung feels his cheeks tint slightly and Jungkook grabs his hand and squeeze it for a second.

"I'm glad he found me," he replies and leans into his husband's shoulder.

The elder man in the room observes them. He's facinated by young love and honestly he's glad he experienced it once. He just hopes the couple before him will keep the love which he unfortunately couldn't. But they seem strong, it seems like they truly need each other.

"Jimin, I have some things for you," Byung-chul says and reaches behind him, pulling out a drawer to grab some old albums.

"Ah-seung burned most of the pictures of your mother back when she decided to disown her. However, I saved some. I have some notes she sent me from her pregnancy, I'm sure Taehyung would like to read those too."

Just like that, they start going through the many amazing pictures of Jimin's mother. She's indeed very beautiful and he wishes more than anything he could meet her. But as they keep going through the pages, he comes more and more to terms with the fact that she's gone. The notes from her pregnancy are so amazing. She keeps writing about how she can feel Jimin kick in his stomach and how she would tease Taehyung, saying that her water broke.

When they have spent about an hour just looking at the old memories and talking about everything Jimin is curious about, Byung-chul stands up.

"I have one final thing to show you, but we will have to go outside," the man says and slowly starts walking out of the living room. Without much question, the guys follow him and grabs their coats and shoes.

Byung-chul takes them on a rather long walk through the city, but they don't mind much cause the weather is perfect for a walk like this. They turn a corner and realisation hits them when they see where the grandpa has taken them. It's a cemetry.

"Are you serious?" Taehyung exclaims, "I have been wondering where she got buried for years."

"I thought so, it was kind of a secret arrangement that I made. I thought she deserved a place to rest fully," he replies and takes them further inside.

Jimin looks around with big eyes, slightly nervous to see where his mother is burried. However, he will finally have a place to go when he wants to remember her. He hasn't had that before, it has just been a past thing they have pushed away in their family, probably because it has hurt Taehyung so much.

"This is it," Byung-chul says as he stands before a huge tombstone with his daughter's initials on it. Jimin hesitently walks forward and places his finger against it, feeling all the emotions he has been holding inside finally escape his system.

The tears start escaping his eyes, but he doesn't sob or anything. He just silently let's the salty tears live their own life as he cares for the top of the stone. He now knows everything that happened. There isn't more for him to look for or wonder about. That's just it.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Taehyung asks, making Jimin flinch out of his trance. He now notices that Byung-chul has taken Jungkook for a walk, leaving the boy and Taehyung alone.

"Yeah," Jimin states and looks down again. His head runs over everything that has happened these past few months. Everything with Yoongi, with Hoseok and with his mother. It has been chaos, absolute chaos. He bites his lip as he quickly turns around and buries his face deep into his father's chest. He hugs him if it were the last time they were going to see each other. Taehyung gladly returns it, a smile stretching on his lips as he runs his hand through his son's hair.

"I-I'm so sorry! I have been the worst son ever, I shouldn't have done all of this. I should just have listened to you right from the start. I'm sorry dad," he cries out. He hasn't really been able to give a true 'I'm sorry' to his father yet. Taehyung must have been feeling terrible all this time Jimin had some imaginations about the world that weren't true.

"It's okay. I know you are sorry, but as long as you know that yourself, there is no problem Jimin," the elder takes Jimin's face in his hands, "I love you."

More tears escape the boy's eyes as he sobs and leans back into his father's chest.

"I love you more."

They stand like that for god knows how long before Jungkook and Byung-chul show up again, breaking the small bubble Jimin and Taehyung are in.

Jungkook walks over to them with a smile, seeing both are crying probably from an emotional talk. He grabs them and drags them into a group hug, none of them seem to mind really.

"Whatever it is, it's okay," he says.

"I-Idiot, we were having a moment," Taehyung sobs with a small smile.

"What? I'm not allowed in the family moment?" the younger teases back and feels a strong hug around his stomach.

"I'm sorry dad," Jimin mumbles against his shirt that's now getting wet from all the tears.

"Yeah. Me too," Jungkook says and they all pull apart.

"Just know Jimin that we love you more than anything. Nothing will ever change that," Taehyung says and sniffs slightly. It's like peace has finally settled between them now that they are here, together after everything they have been through.

"I know. I love you guys."

"We love you more," Jungkook kisses his forehead and Taehyung takes his hand before they start walking back towards their car. Now, they have a new long journey in front of them in order to go home...

Just home.

Omg it's over! I don't know if I should be happy or cry😭

Thank you so, so much for reading this far! It has been a journey, both the baby book and the two adult books, I can't believe I actually got to finish them all.

To be honest, I'm not very proud of adult vol. 2 and I lost motivation for a long periode of time to write it. But in the end, I'm fine with how it turned out. I couldn't have done it better because my motivation simply wasn't there.

I hope it wasn't too horrible and that is was just slightly worth reading.

I will be making an epilogue, so don't worry 💜

And once again, if you have some ideas in your head for this family, make sure to comment them in the next chapter!

I hope to see you in my other books! I purple you! 💜

Bye💜
