52: Lucy.

Sry for the shower scene guys, got to entertain a certain fan ig🙄

Eat food, drink water, and maybe don't go being toxic and controlling to your husbands🫶

You didn't have much of a say in the "we are going to shower."

Logically, you could teleport away. But this is maybe your only chance to compromise with Illumi. Which, while it most likely won't work, is better than blindly running for god knows how long.

They could keep chasing you for years. Decades, even. Considering you're, by law, a Zoldyck.

Also it was kind of funny to use Hisoka's shower and then uninvite Hisoka.

"I have missed you." Illumi's voice was quiet enough that you almost didnt hear it over the sound of the shower. Not that it'd surprise you if that was his goal. He always was against showing emotions.

"Missed you too." You leaned your head back slightly when he ran his fingers through it, humming contently.

"Then why run?" He questioned tilting his head to the side.

His hands left your hair for a moment, before returning. This time gently combing shampoo through it. Looking at you expectantly the entire time.

"Answer me, pretty thing."

"Didn't want to get tortured." You mumbled. Barely loud enough to hear over the running water.

Why you left was obvious. He was toxic, manipulative, controlling. He tortured you. Planned to torture you more. Kidnapped you. Wanted to teach you to kill people.

The real question is why you miss him.

"How many times do I need to remind you that it's for your own safety?" He asked, his voice a sharp hiss in your ear.

"Illumi-"

He didn't even let you finish, noticing how tense you had gotten. Probably assuming you'd teleport away again if you got too panicked.

"My apologies, my control seemed to have slipped." He gave you a bit more space, his hands still combing through your hair, "Lean your head back, I need to wash the shampoo out."

Obeying, you couldn't help but feel a shiver run down your spine as the water ran through your hair. One of Illumi's hands moving to support your back, the other still in your hair.

"You're so obedient when given the choice to be," He noted, his eyes never leaving you, "Why must you disobey the second it's not a choice."

"I like having options." You hummed, allowing Illumi to pull you back into his arms, your eyes slipping closed as you leaned into his chest, "Now more shower, less talk."

Truthfully, you just didn't want him to have the chance to ask you about your Nen ability.

"Of course."

"How was your shower?" Hisoka asked as you reentered the living room. Two card towers built on the coffee table in front of him, while he worked on his third.

"He's clingy." You hummed, drying your hair off with a towel. To where, at the very least, water wouldn't drip everywhere.

"I do not believe that word suits me." Illumi replied, walking in after you. His hair freshly braided. Thanks to none other than you and your amazing work.

"You wouldn't let go of me for more than a second."

"I do not want you running off."

To prove his point further, his hands snaked around your waist from behind. His head moving down towards your neck. Letting out a content hum, pleased with the position.

"We still must consummate our marriage." He informed out of nowhere, as if that wasn't a debilitating statement.

"Um, right here?" You asked, giving Hisoka a 'please help me' look, even though you knew full well he wouldn't even try to help.

"When we get back home."

"A shame ♡" Hisoka hummed, placing the last two cards on top of his card tower, before pushing it down, the tower collapsing "Here I was hoping I could join. ♧"

"Absolutely not, you shouldn't be anywhere near my spouse." Illumi shifted the position to where you were behind him. Shielded from Hisoka.

"Ah ♢" Hisoka stood from his seat, stepping towards Illumi, "but you haven't said anything against me and you-"

"I am married." Illumi cut Hisoka off. Not bothering to even hear him out. Not that you could blame him, you wouldn't either.

"Nobody has to know, ♡" Hisoka purred, pulling Illumi closer by the collar of his shirt. The movement quick enough to catch even Illumi off guard, "Plus I don't think Y/n would mind ♡"

"Hisoka."

"Illumi ♡"

With both their attention turned away from you, you let your mind wander back to your ability for just a moment. You had created it in a panicked rush, so even you didn't understand its capabilities.

Curiously, you wondered if you could teleport without being in a state of panic. And if you could, how far could you go?

"Ah, I think we may have an issue ♢" Hisoka's hummed.

At the word 'issue' Illumi's focus immediately drifted away from Hisoka. His eyes focusing to where you are.

Or were. The spot now empty.

"They left."

"Your observation skills remain to be a true marvel ♡"

"Not the time Morrow."

You couldn't even focus on where you had teleported. Collapsing to the ground the second you reappeared. Vomiting on the poor carpeted floor, your head pounding.

It took maybe ten minutes, and somebody you didn't really recognize forcing you to take small sips of water before you were aware enough of your surroundings to even try and figure out where you were.

"Are you conscious now?" Someone asked, crouched down beside you. Their hand rubbing your back in a comforting manner.

"Who- what-"

"Don't be worried," The man tilted your head back slightly, guiding a cup of ice cold water to your lips. Only beginning to talk again after they were sure you had drank, "We met once, you were trying to find information on the Spiders. It was months back."

Months back. Sounded like such a short period of time. How long ago was it that you were still clueless, finding any information on the Troupe as you could?

Your head pounded too much for you to remember.

"Hurts.." You grumbled instead, your voice weak.

"You appeared out of nowhere," They informed, "While I do not know how that is possible, you're most likely suffering from the side effects."

Ah, right. Teleportation.

If you were dizzy after teleporting just across a room, teleporting to a different continent probably fucked you up.

The only thing you remember thinking of before appearing here was the exact coordinates. You had gotten quite good at using them after having to track down random Hunters for months just to find an ounce of information on the Troupe.

You miss those days.

"Teleport.." You hummed weakly, before promptly passing out.

"You're awake." Was the first thing you heard when you sat up. Lying in a comfortable white bed, instead of the floor.

Glancing at the trash can beside you, you only assume you had woken up a few times before, only to throw up and pass out again.

"Mhm." You nodded, rubbing your eyes as you looked up at the man.

Ah, you remembered him now. He was one of the first people you found when you began searching for information on the Troupe. A dead end source, that you only went to because you were desperate.

All you knew about him was that he was looking for training to enact revenge on the Troupe.

Still, he took awhile to track down. Not being a Hunter or any type of public figure, he was hard to get information on. That's probably why you thought of his coordinates first when you were trying to test your teleportation.

But, even if you felt sick to your stomach, you had some new information.

One, your teleportation is coordinate based, not distance based. And can also activate by either sight or pure panic, though that could be been a one and done situation.

And two, when you teleport it makes you dizzy and drains your energy. Further out you go, worse the side effects get.

"How had running from the Troupe gone?" They asked, sitting on the edge of the bed, "I am surprised you've survived this long. Not to say I'm not glad you did."

"Ugh.." You slumped back into the pillows burying your face in one, you just groaned.

"Is it that bad?"

The man's hand landed on your shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze of reassurance. Though you could sense he was tense as well. Unprepared for this situation.

"Went to Hunter exam, got kidnapped, ran, kidnapped by a family of assassins referred to as Zoldycks, married a Zoldyck, ran, ended up with a Trpupe member for a few weeks, came here." You grumbled, half explaining, half venting.

"Ah." From your position buried in a pillow, you noticed his hand tighten around the bedsheets. Clutching it tightly to try and control his anger.

When he looked back down at you, his eyes were a deep scarlet.

Word Count: 1597

Fun Facts:

This book will be coming to an end probably before chapter 60, if things go to plan. I'm bad at doing endings so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wanted to show off Y/n'a teleportation ability a bit, hope adding Kurapika didn't seem like too much of a spur of the moment decision because their is actually a backstory (It was a spur of the moment decision)

Kurapika is ‼️not‼️ a love interest because he's 16 rn. And the reader is at least 18, most likely in their twenties, in order to be romantic partners with the trio.
