Chapter 35

There aren't many chapters left of this story, maybe 2-4? I'm not sure... hopefully I'll get it done by the end of the week <3 Enjoy, thank you for reading so far!

__________

Jimin tiredly makes his way through the entrance of the fitness center, heading straight towards the office that's located a bit farther towards the back. He's glad he's allowed to do his homework here... he's convinced he'll rip Jungkook's head off otherwise.

Jimin is still a little conflicted about the whole thing with Yoongi. It's weird and it makes him so confused. He must reach the elder somehow, he needs to get his phone back.

A few people greet him on his way before he stands in front of Taehyung's door. He gently knocks and earns a 'come in' from the other side. He does as instructed and his eyes land on Taehyung when he steps inside.

The elder is having his glasses on, looking through some papers that are scattered on his table.

"Hey Jiminie," he looks up with a smile.

"Hi dad... lots of work?" Jimin asks. Taehyung just tiredly nods and pushes some of the papers away to make space for Jimin's schoolbooks. After sitting down, Jimin rests his head on Taehyung's shoulder with a loud sigh.

"How are you feeling?" the elder asks. He uses a hand to run through Jimin's blonde locks. It's been a while since he has done that, even though it has always been something he loved doing.

Taehyung remembers the times before Jungkook came into his life so clearly, not only the bad times but the times where Jimin really looked at him like he was the most important thing in the world. That changes with age, so Taehyung takes every opportunity he gets to give and receive affection from his son.

"Could be better..." Jimin mutters. He sighs again before sitting straight to collect his school notes. He might as well get it done now so he won't get in trouble later.

Taehyung knows there's something Jimin wants to come out with, but he won't force it out of him. Jimin starts working and silence falls over them. Taehyung continues with his work, glancing at Jimin once in a while.

He waits patiently for around an hour before Jimin finally lets it out.

"You know he took my phone, right?" he asks. Taehyung can't help but chuckle. This whole fight is honestly such a waste of energy, yet here they are.

"I do... I think it's stupid too, but you know how he is, and you're also at fault," Taehyung answers. Jimin really should cut his ties with Yoongi after Jungkook has been this persistent.

"How can I be at fault?" Jimin frowns, looking at his father in disbelief. Taehyungs sighs.

"Jimin you-"

"How on earth can it be my fault!? I just want to grow up and be the boss of my own life, but Jungkook is always there to mess with it!" now he's mad. He's honestly moving out at this rate, and now Taehyung is going against him too?

"No, you need to understand-" once again, Taehyung is cut off.

"He shouldn't have the right to treat me like this! He's just so selfish and he doesn't want me to grow up! He's just trying to keep me locked up like some prisoner!" Jimin spits.

"Jimin."

"I freaking hate him!"

Jimin flinches violently when Taehyung smashed a hand against the table. The sound hits the walls before going back to Jimin's ears, leaving behind an uncomfortable silence. Taehyung lifts his hand and points it directly at the younger. His eyes are burning.

"Shut up. Do you even see this whole situation from another point of view than your own?" Taehyung's voice is deep and dangerously steady. Jimin gulps and blinks, staring at his now extremely pissed of dad.

"No Jimin, you don't. How can you call Jungkook selfish when you're acting like this?" Taehyung leans even closer. "Your father has done everything in his might to make sure you won't get hurt. He has taken time off from work, even though he's extremely busy, just to make sure you were home to do your homework so you won't throw your future away-"

Jimin feels himself shake slightly.

"-He has picked you up and driven you to almost everything, including those stupid parties! He even set time off to work out together with you, giving you an opportunity to spend more time together. And don't even get me started on Yoongi... do you really think Jungkook would keep you away from Yoongi because he's jealous? Then I can tell you, you're absolutely wrong, he treasures you more than himself and he only wants the best for you," Taehyung looks sternly at the other before continuing.

"So, if you still hate Jungkook, you can leave right now and cool off somewhere else," he says and turns back to the papers on the table.

Jimin is honestly baffled. He will never get used to seeing Taehyung so angry, it's not good for his heart. The words are slowly sinking into his mind, making him sick to his stomach.

Maybe Taehyung's right? Maybe he actually needs to look at all of this from another perspective. After the phone call today, maybe there really is something with Yoongi? No, there's no way.

Jimin hesitantly turns to his books and stares at them. Jungkook has been very, very dependent on keeping Jimin in his hand, but maybe not the way Jimin has thought of it before. Jungkook has helped him a lot with school, and he caught up quickly with his class, solely because Jungkook 'forced' him to stay in the house and do homework for at least an hour.

The younger bites his lip. Now he just feels bad... because of both his and Jungkook's temper, they have totally looked passed each other, and never really gotten to an agreement. Jimin never understood why Jungkook acted like he did, and Jungkook never realized that Jimin is an adult and can take care of himself.

Stupid, Jimin thinks.

He needs to apologize.

_____

It's the next day and Jimin still hasn't gotten his shit together. Ever since he left the office, Taehyung hasn't said a word to him, barely looked at him. Of course, this has made Jimin feel like the worst person on the planet.

He wanted to apologize or at least talk with Jungkook yesterday, but the other was so caught up in work he didn't come out of his office all day. This also makes Jimin sad, considering he's probably working that much right now so he'll be able to look after Jimin later.

The blonde sighs as he walks down the hall. He just said goodbye to Hoseok, not having the energy or mood to spend time with him. There aren't many people at school, it has been a while since the lessons ended, but Jimin is honestly frightened to go home.

Taehyung isn't home, so it's just him and Jungkook. Jungkook is probably still oblivious to what's going through Jimin's mind, but they still have to talk.

Or... Jimin has to.

After another 10 minutes of pacing around, he finally goes outside to the parking lot and spots the black car.

He opens the door and sees Jungkook speaking on the phone. The elder gives him a quick smile and a wave, Jimin quickly returns it. They both know there's tension between them since Jimin's phone was taken away, but they desperately try to ignore it.

The car starts and Jungkook lies the phone down.

"Hey Jimin, good day at school?" he asks, not looking at the younger.

"Yeah, it was fine," Jimin comments.

The rest of the ride is mostly silent, only a few lines about dinner is exchanged. Jimin really wanted to talk, but he still felt uneasy. Maybe it's because it will hurt his pride to apologize? He knows it's childish to think that way, but he can't help it... this fight has been going on for months now.

When they arrive home, Jungkook walks into the kitchen and sits down in his normal seat, taking his laptop from his bag.

Jimin looks down and walks over to his seat, taking his school things out. How shall he break the ice? After a good 15 minutes of staring into his history book without actually reading a single word, he turns his attention to his father.

"Hey dad, can you help me with this?" Jimin asks. It's some random question he's probably able to answer himself, but he might as well use it as an excuse to speak with Jungkook.

"Yeah sure," Jungkook says.

He comes over and jumps into a long explanation about The Cold War. Jimin is barely listening, just trying to form a sentence in his head. Jungkook finishes and intends to go back to his seat, but Jimin grabs his arm.

The raven turns confused and looks at the other.

"Can we talk?"
