Chapter 34

Jimin woke up the next day and to say that he's pissed is an understatement. He has just been woken up by a century-old alarm clock because his dick of a father took his phone.

How can he do that? That's a violation of Jimin's human rights. He sighs again, knowing that it won't help walking around sulking about it. What he's going to do today is already planned. Now he just needs to get to school and collect Hoseok to use his phone.

Jimin gets up from his bed and starts getting ready. Right now, he's happy that Jungkook has to meet in early today, so he isn't home. Wonder if Taehyung even knows that argument happened. He probably does.

The blonde ignores his thoughts and gets dressed. He skips breakfast and just rushes to school. He can't deal with any of his parents right now even though he knows Taehyung will be on his side in this. His phone! How's that fair?

It's a Monday morning, so the whole school is gloomy, filled with uncommitted people who are forcing themselves to get through the day.

Jimin fits perfectly in, and his mood is still way too low for his health. He ignores it and runs into his first class, having nothing but Hoseok's phone on his mind.

_____

As per usual, the two best friends met up at 'their' bench outside the school to eat lunch. It's still summer, so the weather is nice and a lot of people have chosen to spend the break outside.

"Hobi!" Jimin exclaims as he spots the brown-haired male sitting on his normal spot, currently scrolling through one of his many social media accounts. He flinches by the loud voice, almost dropping the device from his hands.

"Jiminie? Don't do that, you scared me!" He whines, Jimin ignores him and sits down as well. He quickly grabs his food from his bag and places it on the table. It's not first priority right now.

"Can I borrow your phone real quick?" Jimin asks. Hoseok frowns but doesn't question it and hands it over to the other.

Jimin mentally jumps with excitement as he gets in on the call app, looking at the dial. But he hesitates.

What's Yoongi's number?

OMG, how can he be so stupid!? How cliché is this? He can't fucking remember a single digit of it.

"Goddamnit..." he utters, looking at the phone like it's at fault.

"What's the matter?" Hoseok asks.

"I don't remember Yoongi's number..." Jimin answers.

"Uhm have I missed something? Where is your phone anyway?" Hoseok asks further. Jimin suddenly feels something turn in his stomach. He was too caught up in dealing with his parents and finding a way to get Yoongi's attention that he completely forgot to tell Hoseok.

That's a first, they always tell each other everything.

"Ugh, let me tell you..." Jimin starts explaining the whole thing, both on how a stupid a situation it is and how Jungkook's an asshole.

Hoseok just nods along, he's kinda getting used to Jimin telling about his tantrums with his parents or Yoongi. That's the only thing on his mind these days.

"Yikes, that sucks... and you don't remember his number?" the elder almost sighs more than questions.

"I know right? It's so stupid, I should have written it down somewhere... I hate my life," he crosses his arms with a pout. Hoseok can't help but feel something inside him turn at the sight. Jimin just looks so cute, how's that even possible?

"Hey wait! I have an idea!" Hoseok suddenly says. Jimin looks at him with big eyes, waiting.

"Why don't you call the fast-food restaurant where he works? They should have his number?" they know it's not that easy to get such information, but they might as well give it a shot. Maybe Yoongi's working right now, who knows?

"Yes! Please," Jimin almost begs as he searches for the specific number. He quickly finds it and copy-pastes it into the call app.

He dials the number and waits.

"Hello, xxx what can I do for you?" a female voice beams through.

"H-Hello, you're talking with Jimin. Can I ask you a question? It's about someone who works at your place?" he asks timidly.

The girl is extremely friendly and quickly answers 'of course'.

"Min Yoongi is an employee, is it possible to give me his number?"

The girl seems to be looking through some papers.

"We don't-"

"I know its personal data, but I really need it!" Jimin cuts her, nervous that she won't give the number. He won't say it's an emergency, but it might be the only option.

"That's okay, that's not the problem," the girl giggles. Jimin frowns.

"What is it then?" Jimin asks.

"There's no one here who's named Min Yoongi. There has never been."

Jimin almost drops the phone. What? Did he quit? Or did Jimin mess up the place? No, he's certain this is the place Yoongi told him he works at. 'There has never been?'

That's weird. Jimin politely says thanks to the girl and cuts the line, giving the phone back to Hoseok who listened and has a strange expression.

"What does she mean by that? I'm certain that's where he works," Jimin says. Hoseok bites his lip, looking hesitantly at the other.

"Don't you think there might be something about Yoongi that's not-"

"Don't you dare finish that sentence. I can't have you turning against me like everyone else," Jimin puts his hand up, shutting Hoseok up immediately.

The elder gets slightly annoyed by that. Jimin should at least hear him out?

"I have to go now, I'm going to the fitness center. Jungkook won't pick me up today. and the only place I'm allowed to be when he isn't there (and school)... so I'll be with Taehyung, he's in the office," Jimin informs the other.

Hoseok just hums as he watches the younger pack his things. Hoseok still has some lessons, so he's not free to go yet.

Jimin waves at him and walks towards the bus stop. Hoseok's eyes follow him all the way there, wishing he could be with him just a little longer.

_____

Taehyung is looking through the computer, searching for the receipt of some new machines they've bought. They have bought a lot of new things lately, so he needs to get them all signed up and sell the old ones.

But to be honest, he's not really in the mood. At least Jimin will be here. He said he wanted to do his homework here in Taehyung's office instead of home, probably to get away from Jungkook.

Taehyung sighs at the mere thought. Why are they always fighting... Taehyung almost can't take it anymore. Both of them are stubborn and get mad easily, so what's there to do? Jimin is really getting his rebellious nature out in the open.

The brunette can't help but chuckle despairingly at the thought. He ignores it and waits for Jimin to arrive so he can be entertained just a little.
