Chapter 19

Taehyung sat down on the couch, seeing Jimin leave for school again. It has been a week since the incident with Sehun. The brunette has quit his job as a model immediately, he doesn't want to look at Sehun ever again.

There are currently no classes he has to teach, so he's just staying at home completely alone. And that's too much time with his mind and fucked up feelings.

The whole day, he paces around the house. Cleaning up a little, watching tv, crying, cleaning a little more. And to say he's bored is an understatement.

But it doesn't get better as his husband steps inside the house, home rather early. The raven is wearing a suit, having his phone pressed to his ear as he's having a conversation with someone.

"I know, but I just need you to deal with it! We can't lose this-" Jungkook rambles into the phone, heading straight for the stairs without acknowledging Taehyung's existence. The said male studies Jungkook as he disappears from his sight, biting his lip painfully.

Normally, he would get at least a peck on the cheek or a hug. Now he doesn't even get a glance. It's been a fucking week and Taehyung and Jungkook have basically not spoken to each other. When they lie in bed at night, it's backs against each other and not a single word is exchanged.

It's so freaking painful Taehyung's about to explode, even more because he feels like it's all his fault. Maybe it is? He can't tell... deep down he knows why he went that far, and that's because of Jungkook.

Still, he doesn't have the heart to take up this conversation with his husband. He can't deal with it right now; it's stressing him, and his heart is already breaching. He keeps smiling and hiding it, especially for Jimin. He can't let his boy see him in a weak state like this, he doesn't want to scare him.

He sighs as he falls back on the sofa, listening to the faint sound of Jungkook speaking on the phone. At least he hasn't abandoned Taehyung as most other people would have. That's what Taehyung always tells himself.

But who can blame him? It's his first- and only-time experiencing love and actually having a family. It might have been that way for years, but he doesn't have any experience other than that. He never had parents who took care of him, he had to do everything by himself.

Meaning, he'll blame everything on himself too.

"And then we went to get food! It was so romantic," Jimin's eyes almost sparkle as he explains one of his last dates with Yoongi. Hoseok can't help but chuckle at his love-shot friend, at least he can see him like this.

"I'm sure it was, are you seeing him again soon?" the elder asks with a fond smile, seeing how Jimin immediately softens by the thought of his 'boyfriend'. Young love everyone.

"Yes, I'm seeing him tomorrow," he answers.

"Wow, needy much?" Hoseok teases.

"Shut up, let me have a moment," Jimin hits his shoulder. Hoseok shoves him gently in return, loving every bit of 'skinship' he can get. They keep talking about casual things, Hoseok mostly just listening, feeling the energy from Jimin light up the entire room.

Suddenly, their conversation is stopped by a voice sounding over the speakers.

"Jeon Jimin, come to the office please." It says. Immediately everyone starts 'oohing' and giving Jimin glances. The blonde frowns slightly, wondering why he's called in.

"Whatever, probably just want me to do their work or some shit," he huffs in an annoyed tone. Hoseok, on the other hand, has an idea of why Jimin is called there.

"S-Sure," he says.

Jimin hurries himself to the office, still being that good student he has always been. Almost. He enters and immediately meets eyes with his math teacher Mrs. Min.

"Jimin, sit down," she greets him, pushing her glasses slightly in place.

Jimin sits down and is suddenly hit by some sort of understanding. He tries to push his suspicion away, but Mrs. Min's words that are to come just verify his fear.

"Jimin, you have been missing out on quite a lot of my classes lately," she states. Jimin gulps and visually tenses. He twists in his seat, playing a little with his fingers.

"I'm sorry, there has been... stuff..." he answers. What else is he supposed to say?

Mrs. Min raises an eyebrow, not looking convinced in the slightest. She sighs and moves some papers around, wanting to cut to the chase.

"I don't care why you aren't here, but I need it to stop. I have sent a letter to your house to notify your parents about your absence. It should arrive in two days."

It's like a fucking tsunami comes crashing through the walls, almost knocking Jimin over in his chair. His eyes widen and his mouth opens in utter shock.

"W-What are you talking about? You can't do that, I'm 18-"

"I don't care, this is how I always do it," the lady coldly comments, clearly showing that she's one hell of a terrible teacher.

Jimin is honestly speechless. A letter? To his parents. About him skipping classes.

He's gonna die.

Before he can even think the whole thing through, he's dismissed from the office and now standing in the hallway like some lost freshman.

Suddenly, Hoseok comes walking patiently down the hall, spotting his friend looking almost high, staring ahead.

"Jimin?" he calls out. He walks to the other and stands in front of him, trying to get eye contact.

"I want a white coffin..." he mumbles.

Hoseok frowns and tilts his head slightly. "What are you talking about?"

"And roses... a lot please," he comments.

Is he really high? What's going on?

"Ummm, mind explaining that a little more? I'm kinda lost," Hoseok asks with a dry laugh.

Jimin lets his head fall in his hands, hiding his face. He lets out a rather loud sigh.

"They send a letter. A fucking letter about my absence in math..." he quietly states. Hoseok's eyes go wide as he thinks over the words, turning them in his head and immediately knowing why Jimin is this lost.

"So, what songs do you want at your funeral?"

_____

"Okay, okay calm down... there must be something we can do? Don't you have any ideas?" Hoseok asks. They are sitting on a bench outside, thinking through possible ways to make sure Jimin doesn't get killed.

"I don't know!? Complaining to the school?"

"I honestly think that'll make it harder..."

Jimin sighs, resting his chin on his hand. He needs to figure something out, he can't let Jungkook see that letter.

Wait.

"Hold up, we just need to get our hands on that letter before Jungkook does!" Jimin states as if that isn't obvious.

"You're going to steal it?"

"Stealing is a harsh word... how about temporarily hiding?"

"Like you're going to show it to him later," Hoseok huffs.

"You're right... fine, I'll steal it. I can't let him see it!" Jimin determinedly says.

"Okay... but what about Yoongi? You can't skip math anymore..." Hoseok points out. Jimin thinks for a second.

"I'll just do it in English and Spanish," he answers. He thinks the plan over in his head. Mrs. Min said the letter will arrive in two days... he should be able to get it, he doesn't have many lessons this week, so he'll probably be home before Jungkook anyway.

But Taehyung.

Fuck.

"What about Tae? Shit, he's home all the time..."

"But does he check the mail?" Hoseok asks.

"I don't know? How should I?" Jimin asks. Okay, maybe Taehyung doesn't because he doesn't really get outside the house that much... still, the mailbox is right in the middle of the fucking driveway, it can be seen from basically all rooms in the house.

Whatever, Jimin is just nice and is collecting the mail. No problem.

"Okay, I'll get it... it should arrive on Friday..." Jimin says. There's no other option, he needs that freaking letter!

_____

"Jin?" Taehyung questions as he opens the door, immediately getting pulled into a hug.

"Tae! I haven't seen you in so long!" the elder happily utters, not letting the other go.

"R-Right... hyung, I can't breathe," Taehyung taps his back to be let free. Jin quickly does and apologizes. He just missed Taehyung so much, he couldn't hold back.

They walk inside the kitchen/dining room, Jin sitting down while Taehyung starts making two cups of coffee.

"So, how are you?" Jin begins, smiling happily as Taehyung places a cup of hot coffee in front of him.

The younger hesitates for a second.

Yeah, I'm horrible, I have been doing nothing but crying for the past week while walking around at home alone, having nothing else but cleaning to do.

"I'm great, how about you?" he sits down with a smile, holding his hands tightly around his own cup of coffee.

"Amazing! The restaurant is really getting popular, we're basically rich now," Jin giggles. Taehyung happily listens as Jin keeps talking about work and Namjoon, telling how they are still madly in love.

Can't relate.

Just as that thought passes Taehyung's mind, Jungkook steps inside the kitchen.

"Oh, Jin? Long time no see," he smiles, walking over to give the elder a hug.

"Jungkookie! Yes, it has indeed!" Jin answers. The three have known each other for quite a long time now, so it's almost weird for them not to have seen each other for that long.

They all sit down, Jungkook hesitantly takes the seat beside his husband, not noticing how Taehyung starts looking down.

"It's so sad we couldn't make it to the dinner last time... Taehyung has been rather busy," Jungkook politely explains.

Excuse me... what?

Taehyung looks up in utter confusion and slight disbelief at the sudden words.

"Really, I thought it was because you had to work?" Jin questions. Taehyung had called him and explained that it was Jungkook's fault they couldn't visit the restaurant.

"He told you that? He was probably too shy to explain he had work too... he has been modeling so much lately after all, really working well with my fellow colleagues to get him this far," Jungkook says.

Taehyung is honestly baffled by the other's words. Jin might not have noticed, but there's such a clear leak of sarcasm and hate in those words that it almost makes Taehyung want to throw up. It's like Jungkook's trying to put on some 'little-girl' façade, making his way into people's heart with that bitter-sweet voice. Indirectly telling Taehyung that he cheated with one of his colleagues.

"That's right! Tae has made it so far!" Jin obliviously comments, taking a sip of his coffee.

The brunette still has his eyes on Jungkook, meeting the younger's shortly. But there's nothing there. If there's any emotion, it's the sense of victory that paints Jungkook's eyes.

Taehyung almost cries.

"Y-Yeah, but I have quit it now actually..." he looks down and scratches his neck, trying not to get his emotion fired up. He can't let Jin know... he can't bother the elder with more problems.

"Really? What a shame, you were doing so well," Jin sighs.

"Yeah... I just didn't feel like it anymore..."

Luckily, Jin gets the conversation away from the subject, talking happily about his life again. Yet, he didn't miss the fact that Taehyung's eyes couldn't stay focus and he kept shifting in his seat.

When Jungkook excuses himself to go do some more work, Jin's smiling face flatters and he looks seriously at Taehyung.

"Tell me what's wrong," he softly says.

Taehyung seems a bit shocked 'order'.

"W-What? Nothing's wrong, why would anything be wrong?" he stutters, not letting his eyes meet Jin's.

But of course, the elder looks through him like an open book. He leans a bit forward, resting his elbows on the table and folding his hands.

"Tae... talk to me," he says.

That's it.

Taehyung bursts into tears, hiding in his hands as he tries to keep in the ugly sounds.

"Oh baby," Jin rounds the table and sits next to his friend, his friend he has taken care of and loved for so many years.

"J-Jin, I fucked u-up... I-I-"

"It's okay, shhhh," Jin lets a hand slide up and down the other's back, soothing him as he cries into his shoulder.

Wow, Taehyung has really become such a cry baby... more like, he has probably always been.

"I-I'm so stupid, he hates me..."

"What happened darling?" Jin caringly asks.

Taehyung wipes his tears, trying to act like an actual adult. He looks deeply into his hyung's eyes before spilling everything. Jungkook's work that has filled so much lately, the missing craving between them and the whole incident with Sehun.

Jin just nods through it all, trying not to get surprised at all the things Taehyung is saying. They have been hiding it well, Jin didn't notice at all.

"Shhhh, it's okay," Jin says as Taehyung once again starts crying.

"W-What do I do? I c-can't live without him Jin, I just can't..." he sobs. He has been keeping all of this to himself for so long, it's so freeing to finally get it lifted slightly from his shoulders.

"Talk to him. Tell him everything you just told me," Jin says. Taehyung knows he should probably do that, but what if Jungkook has completely given up on him already? Then he'll rather stay like this than losing Jungkook for good.

"I don't know if I can do it," he admits.

Jin cups the younger's cheeks, forcing their eyes to look directly into each other.

"It will never get better if you don't Tae..." he says.

Taehyung closes his eyes, holding back the tears. He hates that it hurts so much, that he cries so much, and that he forces it all out on Jin.

But he listens deeply to the other's words, knowing that it might be the only way.
