Chapter 1
Marty led Jennifer towards the scattered remains of the delorean, she had finally clicked on what had been happening. The time machine, why Marty had been so relieved to see her and why the FAX firing Marty had been erased.
"You're right, there's not much left."
"Doc's never coming back..." Jennifer looked at her boyfriend with sympathy, truly sorry he would never see his friend again.
Marty knelt down as he noticed something in the wreck. It was the old picture of Doc by the newly erected Hill Valley clock, torn all the way across where Marty would've been standing.
Marty sighed "I'm sure gonna miss him Jen..."
Just then the train track crossing barriers began to drop, siren alarming too. Both teens looked down each end of the track with no train in sight. "What the hell?" Marty exclaimed. As soon as he shut his mouth, they were both thrown off their feet by a powerful force of air. Beginning to get up, Marty was faced with a huge and modified locomotive train. He watched as a window was opened and a familiar head of white hair popped out.
"DOC?"
"MARTY!" The face on the old scientist was ecstatic, as though he'd been trying and waiting a lifetime for this moment.
"Doc!" Marty jumped to his feet, running towards the train. "Doc!"
"Marty, it runs on steam!" Doc motioned towards the engine of the train marked with his initials. He pulled a lever which opened the door, delorean style. "Meet the family!" Clara joined his side happily. "Clara you know..."
"Hi Marty!"
"Ma'am!" Marty waved his hat.
"...These are our boys!" Doc excitedly welcomed two boys to his side. The first was around the age of 10. "Jules..." Doc and Clara looked at each other and smiled. "...and Verne." Verne was younger, around the age of 6 or 7. Marty let out a laugh, speechless . "Boys, this is Marty and Jennifer." The boys waved at the teens, Jennifer waved back.
"Doc, I thought i'd never see you again!"
"You can't keep a good scientist down! After all, I had to come back for Einstein, and i didn't want you to be worried about me." Clara handed Doc a package wrapped in brown paper. "Oh, I brought you a little souvenir."
Sitting down on the step Doc handed the package to Marty, who accepted it eagerly. Smiling as he opened it, Marty was greeted with the greatest memories as he laid eyes upon the picture of the two of them at the 1885 Hill Valley festival with the new town clock.
"It's great Doc." Marty looked Doc in the eyes, firmly shaking his hand. "Thanks!"
"Doctor Brown?" Jennifer joined them, unfolding the FAX from the future. "I brought this note back from the future and...now its erased!"
"Of course it's erased!" Doc seemed thrilled about this fact.
Puzzled, Jennifer asked "But what does that mean?"
"It means that your future hasn't been written yet! No one's has. Your future is whatever you make it! So make it a good one, both of ya!
Marty threw an arm around Jen. "We will Doc!"
Doc stood up, climbing back into the train. "Stand back!" He pulled the lever again, closing the door. "All right boys, buckle up!"
"Hey Doc, where ya goin' now? Back to the future?"
"Nope!" Doc shook his head, still smiling. "Already been there!" He waved at the teens, who waved back as he closed the window.
Still waving, Marty and Jennifer watched as the time train raised into the air, turned around as mechanical wings unfolded and disappeared at the speed of 88MPH.
Marty wrapped his arm around Jennifer as they watched Doc, his family and the time train disappear in the sky. "Don't stay away too long Doc." Marty whispered to himself. Jennifer looked at him and smiled.
"He'll be back, don't worry." She kissed him on the cheek and they began walking to the car.
