Chapter Eighteen
* * * * *
"Here's another set," Rose said as she left another set of flowers by the couch.
My wrist still hurt, so no sewing for me. Right now I was sketching my new projects with my left hand which kinda sucked since I rarely used it.
"Why is he sending me so many flowers?" I asked my assistant and she shrugged.
"It's your boyfriend, ask him," She smirked at me before walking out of the room, shutting the door behind her.
Adrien had been sending me several bouquets of flowers, from lilies to roses, since yesterday! My office looked like a damn flower shop! Sometimes I wonder what goes through that idiot's head.
With each flower came a card and each card had a dumb pick up line on it. I don't know how he found time to do this, but I do know that he was stupid.
I got up out of my seat and went to see what was on the note in this bouquet. The other ones he sent before were amusing.
There was one that said, "Can I tie your shoelaces? I don't want you falling for anyone else."
Then another that said, "Did you swallow magnets? 'Cause you're attractive."
Most of them were cheesy while the rest were just plain dumb.
I picked up the note from between two flowers and opened it. This didn't have a pick up line written on it. Instead, there was a note. It read:
I didn't know what flowers you liked so I just bought all of them in the shop. I hope you enjoyed my pick up lines ;-).
Meet me at Le Papillon at 12. I'm paying (when do I not?)
- Your Husband To Be
I rolled my eyes at his stupidity yet again and returned to my chair. I started to sketch again, a small, permanent smile on my face.

The cool air conditioning hit my face as I stepped inside of Le Papillon. In here was sort of empty today, which was surprising.
I spotted the blond immediately. He was seated where we sat the last time we came here together, at a four seater table that was at the back corner of the diner. This time, he wasn't by himself. In front of him sat a girl with strawberry blonde hair. She seemed to have a lot to say because she was chatting away. I have never met this girl before, but I automatically didn't like her. Who the hell was she?
I walked over to them, a tight lipped smile on my face. Where was this attitude coming from?
As I came closer, Adrien looked up and his eyes met mine. He looked relieved and a smile made it's way onto his face.
"Marinette," He said, standing. The girl stopped talking and turned around to look at me. I could see the distaste on her face.
Why can't there be just one girl who isn't an absolute bi-
Adrien pulled out the chair beside him for me and I sat then greeted the girl, who give me a forced smile.
"So Marinette, this is Stephanie Crawford, she's a blogger," Adrien started when he sat down. "And, Stephanie, this is Marinette Dupain-Cheng, my-"
"She's your fashion designer," Stephanie cut in, her eyes bright with mischief. I sighed heavily. Why must the Lord want to ruin my day with this drama?
"Well," I now jumped in on the conversation, "I am a fashion designer, just not his. What I am to him is his girlfriend." Had I just said that??? Yes I surprisingly did.
Stephanie looked shocked, but Adrien's reaction took the cake. Maybe he didn't expect me to say that because I never did before. Soon, his shock subsided and realization filled up eyes. I could sworn he muttered 'you'll be more than that soon', but I blamed it on my imagination.
"Really?" She asked, clearly not believing what just passed my lips. "That is kind of hard to believe."
I cocked a brow. "How come?"
"I mean, it's kind of unlikely for a model be dating a designer. It's kind of weird," She commented, her eyes moving from my face to Adrien's, where they stayed. Another Adrien Admirer, fun.
"I think that's a dumb reason," I retorted. Stephanie looked taken back by my tone. Hmm, I should probably tone down on my sass, it may come off as rude. Bad Marinette.
"Don't you think it's time to order now, Mari?" Adrien butted in, sensing the tension around us. He cleared his throat, "Um, Stephanie, didn't you say you had somewhere to be?"
"Not until two, so I can stay and have lunch with you, er, you two," She answered, a tight smile on her face. There was a glint in her eye that made me know that she knew I had caught her little "mistake". I rolled my eyes at her stupidity.
Adrien called over a waitress and we ordered. She waitress wrote done our orders before telling us that she will be back in twenty minutes with our orders.
Stephanie's phone began to ring and she excused herself before walking to the restroom. I turned towards Adrien with a glare.
"What?" He asked, taking a sip of his water, a hidden smirk on his face.
"You know very well what," I said to him. "If you were going to be with someone, why'd you tell me to meet you?"
"I don't even know her!" He retorted. "I came in sat and this random girl walked up to me and introduced herself. I've never seen her before in my life! I didn't want to be rude so I said hello and she asked if she could sit. I told I was waiting on someone and she said that she'd be leaving soon anyway."
"Well, you could have called. At least then I'd know someone was here," I told him, pouting and crossing my arms.
"Aww, you're jealous," He smirked at me.
"Hell no," I responded. I wasn't jealous, I mean, why would I be jealous? It's not like I like Adrien or something, because I didn't!
"Come on, admit it. You're a jealous princess," He teased and I ignored him, telling him to shut up while turning my head to the side. I heard him laugh and felt him come closer to me. He gripped my chin with his hand and turned my head back around so I was looking at him. He then placed his lips on mine.
I don't know why Adrien and I kissing became a regular thing, but I think it began when we went night shopping. And I think I......
I think I liked it.
The kiss was short, too short for my liking. Adrien pulled away, his eyes glazed over and a smirk on his lips. I don't think he will ever stop smirking. I hope his lips fall off.
"And you don't have to worry about Stephanie. She won't interfere with the plans I have for you today, well, I hope she doesn't interfere," He said, leaning in for another kiss.
I covered his lips with my hand. He gave me a seriously look. "What plans?"
"That's for me to know and for you to not know until it's time for you to know," He replied after I removed my hand from his lips. He had a surprise, and I definitely hate surprises. He leaned in again to kiss me and I allowed him to this time. My hands flew to his cheeks pulling him closer.
This hurts to admit, but I really enjoyed kissing Adrien. His lips did something to my mind and that made my heart go haywire every time. His lips were soft as they moved against mine and damn they were addicting. He couldn't have picked a better seat, we were hidden from any wandering eyes where we sat and thank God for that, because the unnecessary drama just isn't doing anything for me.
Times like this, I hated being a human because we needed to breathe. Adrien and I reluctantly pulled away, breathing harshly.
I was about to pull him back for another kiss when Stephanie came back.
"That was my little sister," She said, sitting down. "I don't know why that girl talks so much."
Gee, I wonder where she gets it from.
The waitress then came back with the food then left, telling us to call her when we were ready for the bill.
Stephanie then began to tell us -well, Adrien- her life story.
We knew now knew that she was eighteen years old and she had a sister who turned thirteen last week. We knew that she also had an older brother who was nineteen. We knew that she lived with her parents in a three story house an hour drive from here. Oh, we also knew that she got her first period at twelve (which was TOO MUCH DAMN INFORMATION). We knew she lost her virginity at the back of a movie theater and she had Chlamydia that was cured, I think.
"Okay, stop there," I said, almost bringing up my food. She glared at me. "Why are you telling us this?"
"I am telling Adrien this, not you," She snarled before turning back to stare at the blond who was definitely not listening to one word that was leaving her mouth.
"He isn't even listening!" I told her, rolling my eyes.
"Of course he is," She retorted. "Right Adrien?"
Said blond continued to stare into space.
"Adrien," She tried again. No response.
"Adrien!" She exclaimed and I pinched his thigh causing him to come out of his daze.
"Huh?"
"Weren't you listening to what I was saying?" She asked, tilting her head to the side.
"Of course I was," He chuckled nervously. Idiot.
Stephanie gave me a smug look before going back to speaking about her past boyfriends. I huffed and picked up my milkshake before taking a long sip. When I heard that annoying sound that told me my drink was finished, I sighed and shook the cup. I was confused when I heard something moving. Because the cup wasn't transparent, I took off the cover.
My eyes widened when I saw a ring sitting at the bottom of the cup.
My eyes immediately flew to Adrien and I saw him already staring at me with a smile, to Stephanie's dismay.
Soon I heard Jason Derulo's Will You Marry Me playing throughout the entire diner, causing the small amount of people here to become confused. The waitress from earlier returned, but in her hands was a bouquet of flowers. This bouquet was weird though. It had each of the flowers were different from each other. The bouquet consisted of one flower from each of the bouquets Adrien had sent to my office. There was a rose, a daisy, a sunflower, a poppy, a hibiscus, and so many more.
I felt Adrien take the cup from my hands as the waitress put the bouquet in my hands. I was as dumbfounded as ever. To my surprise, there was a note perched between a lilly and a sunflower. I took it out, placed the bouquet on the table and read it.
Will You Marry Me, Princess?
My eyes scanned over the words in disbelief. I can't believe he's actually proposing. I heard Adrien's chair screech against the floor as he got up and got down on one knee, the ring now in his hand.
"So, will you marry me?" He asked, a wide smile dancing on his lips.
I nodded absentmindedly. "Yes," I muttered. Adrien grinned and slipped the ring onto my finger. He took my face into his hands and kissed me softly before pulling away. I heard the other people in the diner cheer and clap.
I saw Adrien pay the bill and tell a fuming Stephanie bye before handing me the bouquet and pulling me out of the diner before anyone else could recognize who were actually were.
Before I knew it, we were walking into my place of work, earning long looks from my coworkers. We stood in the elevator silently before the doors opened and Adrien continued pulling me. Soon we were in the solitude of my flower filled office.
"Earth to Marinette," Adrien waved a hand in front of my face only for me to slap it away.
Damn, all of that was just... Wow.
I plopped down on the couch, Adrien following my lead a while later. "I thought you would just hand me a ring and tell me to put it on! I didn't expect you to full-on propose!"
"That's what our parents told me to do, but while buying the ring I was thinking. I said to myself that doing what they told me to do was boring and I wanted to make the engagement enjoyable for you, you know? I mean you are being forced into marriage with me. I thought that you probably wouldn't get the engagement you dreamed of since you were little, so I decided to just propose. I wanted you to at least get the experience," He exclaimed, sounding really genuine.
I felt my eyes water, but I blinked the tears away. Why am I feeling so emotional all of a sudden?
"Well, thanks," I muttered, my eyes trained on my lap.
He stood, "No need to thank me, princess," He said. "I have a runway show half way across the country to attend, so I'll see you tomorrow when we have to meet the wedding planner."
"Okay," I answered. He leaned down and gave me a small kiss on the lips before leaving the room.
I lifted my hand and stared at the ring that was now on my once empty finger. A small smile grazed my lips before I got back to work.

Ahhh, don't you just love Adrienette?
Well, there's the new chapter. It should've came out the same day as the last one, but that wasn't possible.
I DID MY MATH TEST AND I FEEL LIKE I DID EXCEPTIONALLY WELL! THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO WISHED ME LUCK ❤❤!
What are your thoughts on the chapter?
What did you think about Stephanie? Nice girl, isn't she? (To be honest, she was just a random character who popped into my head, she's of no importance to the story.... I think)
Another chapter that is over 2000 words! I'm aiming for 3000 next time.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter 😊. Until next time,
Bye bye little butterflies (missing my butterflies, y'all T-T)❤❤❤.
