Chapter 26 - Today's the day

Marinette's P.O.V:
I was hyperventilating.

Yes, hyperventilating.

Today's the day.

Oh crap, I'm going to get married...

I'M GOING TO GET MARRIED TO ADRIEN!!

breathe Marinette.

I took a deep breath and I watched stylists rush around the room.

"Mari,"

I turned to look at Alya, she was not yet in her bridesmaid's dress.

Alya came back the day when the fitters came with the dresses for me and my bridesmaids. I was super ecstatic to see her.

"No," I said as I rejected yet another dress.

"Your highness, forgive me for speaking out of turn, but you're going to have to choose a dress sooner or later," One of the fitters said nervously, twiddling her thumbs.

I was sitting in chair with my elbow on the arm and my cheek resting in my open palm. This was really boring, yet it was tiring.

"Marinette, do you have any preferences?" My mother asked. She was standing beside another fitter.

I shook my head. Just as I did that, the door to the room busted open revealing my one and only best friend.

I felt my lips tilt upward as they formed into a grin.

"Alya!" I exclaimed before running over to her and pulling her into a bone crushing hug.

I felt her arms wrap around me.

We soon pulled away.

"You didn't tell me you were coming back today," I said, placing my hands on my hips.

"I wanted to surprise you. And well, SURPRISE!" She did jazz hands and I laughed.

"Glad you're back. Now, it's time to work your best friend magic to help me pick a dress for my wedding," I smiled as I tugged on her arm.

She glanced at the dresses that they had layed out and cringed.

"Eww, what is this? Thank God I came when I did..." She trailed off and I couldn't help but to giggle.

"Mhmm?" I hummed as a response.

"You okay?"

"Well today's the day I get married. I'm getting married to a guy that my parents picked for me to marry. So, I don't know Alya, am I okay?" I ranted and Alya's eyes widened.

"Yeesh, Mari,"

"I'm sorry, Alya. It's just that, this is all too fast, you know? I don't think I'm ready," I placed my head in my hands and let out a sigh of frustration.

I felt stressed. And I low-key felt Adrien deprived. I haven't seen him for four days. Also, I need a hug.

Alya wrapped her hands around me and I hugged her back.

"Oh, Mari. I'm sorry about all this. I don't know what to say to you right now. I've never been in your situation. I guess you're doing this for your kingdom. You can't back down now. You're strong, Mari. You can overcome this. Who knows, maybe you'll fall in love with Adrien during the marriage. You'll overthrow kingdoms and ruin other people's lives together! Wait - that sounds bad, but you get what I mean, right?" Alya tried to make me feel better and it was working a bit.

I hugged her tighter and giggled.

"You're the best, Alya," I squeezed my eyes shut and whispered.

"I know," She whispered back and I pushed her away, laughing.

A frantic stylist then rushed over to us.

"Maid of honour, go over there and get ready!" She exclaimed, her raven hair sticking all over the place.

Alya blew me a kiss and walked away.

"Princess, it's time for you to get your hair and makeup done," She said to me and I nodded as I stood.

I can to this. I can do this.

I repeated over and over to myself as I followed the stylist.

Adrien's P.O.V:
I'm freaking out.

Yes, freaking out.

Today's the day.

Oh crud, I'm going to get married...

I'M GOING TO GET MARRIED TO MARINETTE!

Breathe Adrien.

I took a deep breath and watched all stylists rush around the room.

"Dude,"

I glanced up at Nino with a bored expression.

Yes, this idiot was back. And I'm not gonna lie, I missed my best friend and I'm glad he's back.

"I don't like the feel of this suit,"

"The legs are too long,"

I complained over and over again.

"The legs can be adjusted, your highness," The nervous stylist figeted under my emotionless gaze.

"I don't like this suit," I said finally.

"Adrien, you're going to have to pick a suit sooner or later," Natalie said as she glared at me. I rolled my eyes.

Suddenly the doors of the room busted open revealing a very shirtless Nino.

"ADRIEN! I FINALLY HAVE ABS LIKE YOURS. MAYBE NOT THE MUSCLES, BUT I HAVE THE ABS!" He shouted as he stalked over to me.

I saw Natalie face palm out of the corner of my eye. Laughing at my best friend's antics, I pulled him into a hug before letting go.

"When did you get back?"

"Last night," He said as he flexed nothing. I don't know what abs he was talking about though. All I'm seeing is a flat stomach.

I shook my head and grinned.

I slung my arm over his shoulder.

"Let's show these stylists a few things about suit picking, Nino," I said and he flashed me a grin.

"Yeah?" I responded.

"You good, bro?"

"Gee, I don't know, Nino. I'm about to get married to get married to a girl I've only known for one month, because my father said so," I snarled and his eye's widened at my outburst.

"Calm your tits, dude,"

"Sorry, Nino. I'm just frustrated," I said dropping my head into my hands.

I haven't seen Marinette in four days! I missed holding her in my arms and kissing her senselessly. Yes, I was Marinette deprived.

I felt him place his hand on my shoulder.

"I don't really have a way with words, but I'll try for you. I'm sure this arranged marriage thing isn't all that bad. Marinette's a sweet girl and you're a pretty awesome dude, you're both bound to fall in love at some point in this marriage. Your father's a real butt head for forcing this marriage on you both, but maybe it isn't such a bad thing... Maybe this marriage is this best thing that could ever happen to you,"

I gave him a small smile. He's such a dork.

"Thanks, Nino,"

"No problem, Adrien," He shot me a grin.

A frantic stylist ran over to us, his red framed glasses falling down his nose and he was drenched in sweat.

"Best Man, to your station, it's time to get ready," He said, his voice shaking.

Nino nodded and gave me a cringe worthy wink before walking away.

"Your highness, it's time for you to get ready. Follow me," He said shakily. He was nervous is my presence.

I nodded and followed behind him.

I can do this. I can do this.

I told myself over and over again.

*******

Heyyy!
It's late here and I'm super tired. I literally just started writing this chapter and decided I won't stop until it was finished. Please excuse the minor mistakes that may have been seen in this chapter. I wrote it half asleep.

Next chapter may or may not be the last chapter, I don't really know. Depends on how I feel 😏😋. This story will end in a bang. You'll understand why I said that when you read the last chapter.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter. REMEMBER TO VOTE AND COMMENT! You can share as well.

Bye bye little butterflies 🦋🦋
