Pont De Arts
Oh my gosh I was so excited for this one-shot! Shippers, come and get it! This was a blast to write. Definitely something my hopeless romantic side helped produce. Vote and comment if you've enjoyed! -Colorado

Adrien knew that he had seriously lucked out when it came to Marinette. After a year of knowing each other, he had finally worked up enough nerves to ask her out. And she had said yes! He couldn't believe it when it happened, but it did!
Now his sixteenth birthday was rapidly approaching and so was their one year anniversary. Adrien knew that he had to do something special for it. Adrien also knew that Marinette adored the Pont De Arts bridge and the tradition that came with it.
Thus, the idea was born.
"Hello, chaton." Ladybug greeted him when he arrived for patrol a few days before the anniversary.
"Hello, bugaboo. How are you?"
"Good! I spent today planning out my anniversary gift for my boyfriend."
"Oh? What do you have in mind?"
The news that Ladybug had a boyfriend might've made him jealous a few years ago, but her friendship was truly the greatest gift she could give him. Plus, the news had made him even more sure of his feelings for Marinette. Instead of feeling heartbroken, he only felt happiness for her.
"Well, he absolutely loves sweets, but he can never have them." Ladybug started to explain.
"We would get along excellently." Chat said.
"Probably." Ladybug chuckled. "Anyway, I was able to convince the bakery that he likes to give him an all you can eat feast for breakfast."
"Ooo sounds delicious!"
"Yeah, then we're gonna go on this horse and carriage ride." Ladybug sighed.
Chat Noir let out a whistle.
"That sounds expensive."
"It was, but it'll be worth it. He's a hopeless romantic and is always spoiling me. It's my turn to do something nice for him."
"I bet he'll love it."
"I hope so. What about you? You and your girlfriend's anniversary is coming up, right?"
"Yep."
"What do you have planned for her?"
"Well, she's gonna handle the morning and early afternoon, I've got the rest of the day. So, I'm going to start it off with a shopping spree to this mall that she really likes. And because she deserves the world, I'm going to pay for it all." He said.
"Wow, seriously Chat? Just how rich are you?" Ladybug asked.
"You really wanna know the answer to that?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I guess it doesn't really matter."
"Nope! Anyway, after that we're gonna try to find Andre and with any luck, it'll lead us to the Pont De Arts where I'll give her a lock and hopefully, she'll accept it. Then we can put our lock on the bridge." He said, dreamily.
"Aww! You're really in love, aren't you?"
"Yeah." He sighed. "She's an amazing Ladybug, everything I could ever want and more."
"I'm glad that you've found someone who makes you happy."
"She does, Ladybug, she really does."
"Well, it sounds like you have the perfect date planned."
"Thanks, LB, I'm glad you approve."
"Now, you ready to go and patrol?" She asked, standing up and offering her hand to him.
"Sure thing, buginette." He grinned and took her hand.
"Don't call me that."
His laughter rang out, clear above the rooftops.

"Today's the day, Tikki!" Marinette cheered while curling her hair.
"I'm so proud of you." Tikki said, bringing over a necklace Adrien had gotten her for her birthday.
"Thank you, Tikki. Today's gonna be a blast!"
"When is he going to get here?"
"Well-."
Ding dong!
"Right now, apparently."
"You better not keep him waiting."
"Right!"
Marinette grabbed the necklace he had given her before rushing down the stairs to meet him.
"Hey Adrien! Happy Anniversary!" She greeted him.
"Y-yeah, happy anniversary. You look absolutely lovely." He said, bending down and kissing her hand.
"Thank you, Adrien."
"Did you make your dress yourself?" He asked.
"Mmmhmm. I spent all last week on it."
"Well, it looks lovely." He said, before pulling her in for a kiss.
The off-the-shoulder dress was a light pink, with a skirt ending right above her knees and a golden sash tied around her waist. Add in black ankle boots and gold jewelry and she was ready to go!
"So, what's first on the agenda?" Adrien asked.
"How about we go downstairs to the bakery so you can see?" She winked.
"Is that why you told me to come in the other entrance?"
"Guilty." She grabbed his hand. "Now, come on."
"Aye, aye, Captain!"
"Hello you two!" Sabine said as she got a batch of danishes out of the oven.
"Good morning, Mme. Sabine." Adrien greeted. "Those danishes smell divine."
"Would you like one?"
"Oh! Um," Adrien glanced at Marinette and she nodded.
"You can have whatever you want, Adrien. This is our anniversary, after all." She grinned, grabbing a picnic basket. "For the first activity of the day, you can have as many pastries as you want, just put them in here and we can go to the park and have a picnic!"
Adrien's eyes widened.
"Really?"
"Yes, really, you dork." Marinette giggled, kissing his nose. "Maman, do we have any chocolate croissants?"
"Right here." Sabine pointed to the counter.
"Thank you!"
"I can really have as many as I would like?" Adrien gasped.
"Yes, silly, that's the whole point of an all-you-can-eat breakfast!" Marinette chuckled.
"R-right, wait, did you say all-you-can-eat?" Adrien asked.
"Um, yeah? Is that okay?" Marinette felt a nervous smile grow over her face. Did Adrien not like her gift?
"Yeah! Yeah, this is amazing, Marinette! Just, interesting phrasing that's all." He waved it off.
"Oh, okay." She said, her shoulders loosening.
"So, a picnic you said?"
"Yep!"
"Can I get some passion fruit macarons, please?" Adrien asked.
After they had chosen their breakfast, they settled down in the park. It was a surprisingly warm day for Paris in September, but Marinette was thankful for it. Her dress was definitely not for the colder weather.
"So, how'd you come up with this brilliant idea?" Adrien asked, starting to munch on a raspberry danish.
"I saw it on television." Marinette shrugged. "The concept of all-you-can-eat buffets are much more of an American thing, I'll admit, but I thought it would be something fun for us to do. Plus, you need more meat on your bones. I don't know how strict your diet is, but you deserve some sweet things, too."
"But I already have you! I don't need any more sweet things in my life." He said, leaning over and pecking her cheek.
"You're such a flirt." Marinette rolled her eyes, but it did nothing to hide the blush on her cheeks.
"You love me."
"That I do."
"Love you too." He said quietly.
Marinette leaned her head on his shoulder as his arm came around her. Her eyes closed and she sighed, enjoying the presence of the love of her life next to her.
"This is nice." She murmured.
"Yeah, it really is. I'm super glad that my father let me spend the day with you."
"Me too. Honestly the fact that he approves of our relationship makes this so much easier."
Adrien nodded.
"I agree, 100% percent."
"So, what's been your favorite pastry so far?" Marinette asked.
"Marinette!" Adrien gasped. "I can't just choose a favorite pastry! That's like choosing your favorite child! It's impossible."
"Yeah-huh." Marinette raised an eyebrow. "Well, I won't tell if you won't." She winked.
"Hmmm, fine." Adrien leaned down to whisper in her ear. "I like the passion fruit danishes the best." Marinette tried not to shiver under his breath.
"Noted."
"Remember, that stays between you and me." He winked. "I love all pastries equally."
Marinette snorted. Only Adrien Agreste would try and protect the feelings of pastries. She was so in love with him.
The rest of the picnic they stuffed their faces, not caring about who saw. They chatted and joked, and just enjoyed each other's company.
That was what was important to Marinette. It didn't matter if they couldn't be super affectionate, or if they weren't doing anything super special. All that mattered to her was making memories with Adrien. Good ones that they would have for the rest of their lives.
"I mean, you should've seen her face when I told her it was me who created it!" Marinette laughed.
"Oh my gosh, I'm sure she was pissed!" Adrien wiped a tear from his eye.
"Believe me, she was. I wish I got a picture to show you." Marinette sighed.
"Next time you give Lila a taste of her medicine, I'm sure I'll be there. Until then, your stories will suffice." Adrien said honestly.
"Thanks, my prince." She leaned over and kissed his nose before something caught her eye. "Now come on! It's time for part two of our morning activities."
"Whoa." Adrien breathed as his eyes landed on the carriage. "Is that for... us?" He asked hesitantly.
"Yep! You're always talking about how you wanted to go on one when we were in New York, but we never got the chance to, so I decided to bring it to you! Is that okay?"
"Is it okay?" Adrien looked from the carriage to her to the carriage to her. "It's more than okay! This is amazing! I can't believe you've put this much work into it!"
"Oh, well, it's nothing." Marinette blushed.
"It's a lot more than nothing, trust me." He squeezed her hand.
"Come on! Let's go!"
He nodded.
"Yeah, let's."
It could've been her imagination, but she could've sworn that Adrien was smirking.
"Are you the couple I'll be showing around Paris today?" The coachman asked them.
"Yep! That's us."
"Well, we will be doing a mix of famous landmarks and some hidden gems of the city."
"That sounds fantastic."
The coachman helped them up into the carriage, along with the picnic basket that still had some pastries in them.
"This way we can eat and enjoy the view."
"It's amazing, Marinette believe me."
"Thanks Adrien, I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. That's all I want."
"You're the best girlfriend ever." He said, leaning forward to kiss her.
"And you're the best boyfriend ever." She whispered, her eyes fluttering closed.
Marinette wasn't sure if she was ever going to get used to his kisses. They were so sweet they made her heart fill. Yes, it was awkward in the beginning, but now they knew exactly what to do. She never wanted to stop.
They broke apart and dissolved into giggles, satisfied with the love they shared.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh my gosh, Adrien! You can't be serious!" Marinette gasped as they approached the mall.
"I'm dead serious. Anything you want in there and I'll get it for you, my-my sapphire."
"But Adrien! This mall is filled to the brim with famous designers and fashion equipment!" Marinette protested.
"Why do you think I chose it out of all things?" Adrien asked. "It's because I wanted to make sure I could spoil you." He winked.
It was funny how Adrien's plans, at least for the first part of the date, were the same as Chat Noir's. She supposed that they really would get along great if they were introduced.
Marinette was at first hesitant, but soon, she was dragging Adrien from store to store. He happily followed her lead, offering her advice for when she was torn between fabrics or clothing. Of course, his fabric advice was a lot more helpful than his clothing one. He was a biased party, after all.
After a quick stop at the food court for an early dinner, they explored the rest of the mall. Marinette found several fabrics and outfits she liked and Adrien found some clothes for himself as well. He was also beginning to get more into the photography side of modeling, so he found a camera for himself.
"Do you think your father will be upset if he knew how much you just spent?" Marinette asked as they walked out of the mall. Adrien just waved her worries aside.
"Doubtful. Those really didn't cost all that much, plus he'll probably be happy I'm spending money on you instead of anime."
Marinette giggled.
"So, what's next on the agenda?" Marinette asked.
"Well, the Gorilla should be here soon so we can put our bags in the car."
"And after that?"
"That, my darling, is a surprise." He winked.
"Adrien!" Marinette whined.
"Just trust me on this one." He said, getting out his phone. "Why don't you go and put our bags away while I check on something?" He nodded towards the Gorilla.
Marinette huffed.
"Fine."
"Luck seems to be on my side today." Adrien chuckled as if it was an inside joke.
"Oh?"
"Yep. I wasn't sure where our next stop would be, but it's exactly where our last place is."
"Well, that's good." Marinette smiled, her mind spinning with ideas. Where could he be taking her?
"So," He took her hand again. "How do you feel about dessert?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marinette's mind was whirling.
It was a big enough coincidence that Adrien and Chat Noir had very similar personalities and looks. It was an even bigger coincidence that both of them had planned to take their girlfriend to a shopping mall where they would pay for everything they would get. Yes, it was strange, but something Marinette could still write off.
But this?
No matter how she spun it, there was no avoiding it.
Adrien was Chat Noir.
"Marinette?" He was nervous. It was obvious in the way his voice trembled, albeit subtly.
"Oh." She breathed and suddenly, everything made sense.
How Adrien used to be in love with another girl, but no one knew who it was. How Chat Noir always seemed to have something against the model, but always knew what he was up to. How Adrien gave her nicknames and hand kisses and roses. How Chat Noir talked about his home life like it was a burden.
"Oh, kitty."
How both of them got into a relationship at the same time. How the only person who could ever rival her love to Adrien was Chat Noir. How they were so sure that their superhero partner would get along with their romantic one. How Adrien and Marinette were drawn to each other even before they were friends.
The revelation hit her like a freight train.
"Oh, mon chaton."
"Hi, m'lady." His voice cracked halfway through the nickname, but Marinette didn't care.
She launched herself into his arms, not caring that they were in a very public place.
"Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God." Marinette sniffled.
"Are you crying?" Adrien asked, trying to tease her but she could tell he was in the same predicament.
"They're happy tears, trust me." She leaned back so her eyes could meet his green ones. How did she not realize earlier? Those were her partner's eyes.
"I love you so much." Adrien sobbed, right there in the middle of the Pont De Arts.
"I love you too." Marinette squeezed her eyes shut and buried herself into his chest.
As always, his arms were comforting. Whether they were cuddling or she needed some encouragement to face the newest akuma. His arms were always a source of strength and comfort for her, no matter what name she called him.
"When did you figure me out?" She whispered.
"Just this morning. The date plans met up a bit too perfectly, plus the fact that you and Ladybug are incredibly similar.... You're not mad, are you? I know how much you wanted to keep identities a secret." Adrien bit his lip as Marinette pulled back to look at him.
"Look at me, Adrien Agreste. This is the best gift you could've possibly given me. You being Chat Noir is a literal dream come true. I didn't think I could love you anymore than I already do, but here we are! I'm ecstatic that you're him. Yes, it's a bit worrying that we know now because of potential dangers, but Bunnix hasn't showed up to tell us no yet, so I think we're in the clear." Marinette leaned up to rub her nose against his. "I love you so, so, so much."
"I love you too." Adrien breathed, leaning down and kissing her.
Maybe it was because it was their anniversary, maybe it was because of the fact they were stripped of their masks, but this kiss was so much more than any of their previous ones. More passionate, more loving, more softer.
They didn't dare open their eyes afterwards, because as soon as they did, they started to laugh. Neither of them knew what was so funny, but there they were, holding each other in their arms.
"So, I do have another gift for you." Adrien said once they had calmed down.
"Hmm?"
"Come here." Adrien led her to the edge of the bridge and Marinette's heart skipped a beat, remembering his plans from patrol. "So, it's not a surprise anymore, but um," he gave her a nervous smile as he pulled a box out of his pocket. "I love you, even more than I had thought and I wanted to get you something that showed it. But I wasn't sure how you felt about a promise ring, so I got you this." He opened the box and showed her the lock. "I thought this one suited us the best."
It was a pink and green checkered lock with a heart shaped key-hole. On the top of the lock "A soulmate is your best friend and lover rolled into one" was engraved and on the bottom a large "A+M" was engraved.
"What do you think?" He asked.
"I love it." Marinette breathed. "I love you."
"Do you... wanna put it on the bridge?" Adrien asked. Marinette nodded frantically. "Go ahead." He handed the lock to her, getting out his phone to take pictures as she put their lock on the bridge.
Click!
Adrien and Marinette both broke into wild and nervous grins.
"So, ice cream?" Marinette offered. Adrien nodded.
"Yeah, ice cream sounds great."
"And maybe after we can go on a run around town?" Marinette winked.
"Sounds purrfect, m'lady." Her laugh was music to his ears.
"You're a dork."
"But I'm yours." He grinned.
"That you are, kitty, that you are."
"Happy Anniversary, Marinette."
"Happy Anniversary, Adrien."

Well, was that cheesy enough? I loved this dynamic and LadyNoir gushing about themselves to each other unknowingly is just perfection. I hope you liked it! Leave a vote and comment if you did! I love to hear feedback! -Colorado
