One : Mission Accomplished

Cozy. The one word that would define his state. Taehyung was tucked in his bed, hands pulled to himself like a baby, the heavy blanket on top of him making him perfectly warm and ideally perfect to dive into dreamland.

His thoughts, however, had other plans. His mind couldn't help but replay certain moments from his memory of the other night. His body was exhausted, yet the lingering moment and gush of excitement still kept on distracting him.

What kind of excitement, you may ask?

Her. He couldn't help but think about how she looked at him with her sleek eyes widened in shock as if she just saw God himself. As if she was captivated. Taehyung had always been modest about his appearance, but the thing was- this time, he really wanted her to be the one who was captivated. For once in his life, he craved attention, even if it was for his looks and visuals.

He sighed, the silence in the room making his steady breaths sound even louder. He opened his eyes helplessly because every time he closed them, all he could see were the blushed red cheeks, pink parted lips, shining orbs, gawking at him.

Puffing his squishable cheeks, he removed the blanket from his face, extending his arm towards the nightstand. He grabbed his phone and switched it on, squinting when the extreme brightness itched his eyes.

Adjusting it to his preference, his fingers wandered over the device, not quite certain how to distract himself until he saw some notifications popping up on his phone. He went ahead to scroll through a few posts on his social media, liking comments and replying to some.

His username made him chuckle while he typed a random response to some ARMYs he was conversing with, in disguise as a commoner. He finally went to the search engine, his destination. Her name, he remembered her speaking it clearly, with her deep, attractive voice that would maybe even rival his'.

However, when he tried searching her name in every language he could, he was met with nothing but disappointment. She was nowhere to be found. He'd scrolled till the very end but couldn't find any profiles that he could possibly identify as the woman he'd met earlier this evening.

She probably disguised herself too, or she simply wasn't on social media. Either way, Taehyung was doomed. He pouted, trying to wrap his mind over the fact that she was just a fan, and he probably would never find her.

If he wanted to find her as a fan, then good luck to himself finding her among the millions of people who followed him.

However his eyes sparkled once again when another idea struck him- there were two girls he met.

She was his best chance, he realised. Why am I so damn desperate? He asked himself as he typed her name on his keyboard, trying to rationalise the situation by telling himself that this was mere curiosity.

It wasn't.

But before he could argue with himself for that, the results came flashing on his screen like a carnival's firework, leaving his heartbeat rapid. He found her.

Quickly tapping on the screen, he brought the phone closer to his face to zoom into her profile picture, before confirming it. And once he was sure of it, he beamed to no one in particular. He was sure as hell that if he found her best friend as what she had called her, he would find Yumi too.

The girl who had undeniably stolen his heart. He grinned to himself, a particular thought making him bubbly from the pit of his stomach. Giving him a sort of excitement, the adrenaline rush. The type he hadn't felt in a long, long time.

"This is ridiculous," a scoff left her lips as she rolled her eyes, looking anywhere but towards the man sitting in front of her. He sighed a little before maintaining his gentle smile, resting his chin on top of his palms that were placed on the table between them.

"It's not my fault that you publicised the fact that you visit this café every alternate day," He shrugged, the innocent face intact. "I just got lucky that it was the right alternate day." He nodded with big eyes and raised eyebrows.

"Look, I have no idea why you're doing this. Are we even serious right now?" She frowned and he pursed his lips together. "Do you think I'll be kidding after literally risking my reputation to come and meet you in a small café like this?" His tone was offensive, the smile gone as he whispered the last part. "With all due respect, you should know I'm not supposed to be in this type of crowd."

"Wow. So you really want me to set you up with my best friend? God has to be kidding me," She threw herself back on the chair, shaking her head and folding her arms together. "Look, you are literally my last bet. If you can't do anything like giving me her address-" He paused when she turned her head towards him and gave a glare, clearing his throat.

"I mean, giving me her contact number or even her social media for heck's sake, just let me know something about where I can find her?" His eyebrows furrowed together, lips parted in annoyance. Damn, Jeon Yumi. Can't believe I have a celebrity begging me just to help him get you. Moon shook her head again, narrowing her eyes at nothing in particular.

"And what do I get out of this? Why would I help you?" She tilted her head, staring Taehyung down. His lips turned upside down, hesitation evident on his face. "I mean, I could set you up with my brothers, if you want" He grinned like an idiot until she scrunched her lips, almost about to throw the fries kept on the table on his beautiful face.

"And why should I trust you? Should I not feel threatened for my friend's safety after you literally stalked me all the way?" She narrowed her eyes even more and he was the one to scoff this time around. "Oh come on. I'm Kim Taehyung, not an underground criminal. The odds of me being a fraud and kidnapping your best friend are close to zero. Besides, you really don't think it can most likely be the other way around?" He raised an eyebrow and she rolled her eyes at his statement.

"This is so childish." She ran a hand through her brown locks before he pouted. "I honestly don't care about your opinion on that," He mocked in a small voice while looking away but she could sense he didn't mean to be rude, rather it was more like his defence after being a little embarrassed after being called immature.

He quietened for a minute, tapping his fingers on the table rapidly out of nervousness, gulping a little. "See," he started with a lot of courage, looking at her who was staring at him with a sour expression. "I didn't think about it so much, miss. I didn't think about what I'd do if I actually meet you in this café, or about what is in this for you, or what the hell I would do if I meet Yumi once more." He pursed his lips, licking them softly.

"I was just giving it a shot." He gently smiled, blinking twice. "There's nothing much I can really do if you think of my attempt as a wastage of time, but I was simply trying." He shot her a look filled with desperation while his slender sleek orbs literally turned into puppy eyes. "Because even though I don't know where to find her, I just know that I want to see her again."

She breathed out a little at the lover boy statement and upon noticing the way his excited tone had quietened, the sheer look of genuineness evident on his features made her analyse his form again. "Would you leave me in peace if I say I won't do shit for you?" She tested the waters and he chuckled instantly.

"Not really, no. But eventually, I wouldn't have a choice than to forget the Friday night and move on with life... it's not the first time I'd let an opportunity go away from me," His tone had lost the enthusiasm it had when he'd entered the warm café about an hour ago with his face covered and had taken a seat in front of Moon just to start blabbering instantly leaving her puzzled.

"You'll be buying my coffees every time we meet. I want no contact with you on my phone number whatsoever. Just use the social media text engine to talk to me. No weird questions about what lingerie she wears. If, by chance you two get together, she should not know I'm helping you with this for free coffee and an easy life without her rambling about her single ass or you getting after my life every day I visit this place."

Her voice was stern but her smooth words had Taheyung's eyes immediately light up, a small smile grazing on his lips until he stood up and turned around, immediately walking towards the counter to pay for the bill with a huge smirk on his face as he whisper-shouted the word 'Fuck yes' under his breath.

"Mission accomplished"
