"Grace's father denied our request to adopt Grace." Luke said sadly to the woman.

"I'm so sorry, Luke. Would you like me to find another child in the system?" Ashley said with sadness in her voice.

"Yes." Luke said as Ashton's eyes fluttered open.

"Is that Grace's father?" Ashton asked smiling.

Luke frowned as he spoke. "I'm sorry Ashton, Grace's father chose another family to adopt her. I'm sorry, Darling. I'm calling Ashley to find another child hopefully."

"Oh, That's okay. I hope she's happy." Ashton said sadly.

"Luke! I found someone. Jackson Lee, he's five years old and from London. He likes baseball and his mother signed him up to be adopted because she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. It says here she just wants him to go to a loving family. Do you want me to submit your file?"

"Yes! Please." Luke said smiling as his phone buzzed.

"I sent you Jackson's file." Ashley said as she hung up.

Luke opened the file and smiled as he saw Jackson smiling back at him.
