A Spontaneous Cat
LIZZY'S POVdddddddddddddddddddddddddddda{my cat stepped on my keyboard}
The next day, as we were watching the credits for the last Harry Potter movie, I had a spontaneous thought. And whenever I get spontaneous thoughts, I tend to voice them aloud.
"I want a cat," I announced. Dan looked at me, confused by my confession. "Oh sorry, sometimes I get these random thoughts and I say them out loud. 98% percent of the time it's about cats," I said. "Oh okay," Dan nodded as he got up to put the movie away. "I want a cat, too," Phil chimed in. {A/N I KNOW PHIL'S ALLERGIC BUT THIS IS MAH STORY AND I WANT FOR DAN AND PHIL TO GET A CAT}.
Dan rolled his eyes. "Phil, I told you, we're not getting a pet!" He sounded like they had had this conversation countless times. "But Dan-" "NO."
Phil pouted, which looked absolutely adorable. Wait, is that weird? That I have a crush on my dads? Well, I mean, it's not like I like them like them. I just think that they're adorable and attractive. And they have wonderful personalities... Okay, I do like them, just not overwhelmingly. I mean, it's kind of impossible to not think that they're cute. But my shipping senses COMPLETLY overwhelm my crushes. I would much rather they be together.
ANYWAYS, I asked another spontaneous question. "Is there a park nearby?" I asked. "Umm, I think so, why?" Dan asked as he sat back down on the couch. "Well, I kinda want to go ," I said, slightly sheepish.
"You mean actually go outside?!" Phil asked in mock horror. "YES!" I said dramatically. "Mm, I dunno," Dan said, looking longingly at his laptop. "Awww, c'mon, please!" I begged. "It'll help me get settled into London!"
"You could always play Pokemon Go," I suggested. Dan's eyes lit up. "You're right, we could," he said. "And we could film it, too," Phil said.
"Wait, do you have Pokemon Go?" Dan asked me. "Nope. I'm a noob," I laughed. "Well, we need to fix that!" He said. "Yes, well I don't have a device to play it on," I said. "What about your iPad?" Phil asked.
"Cracked," I said. "Aww, c'mon, it can't be that bad. You could still play Pokemon Go," Dan said. I stared at him and got up and got my iPad to show him. His eyes widened. "Right, well we need to get that fixed," Dan said. Phil nodded. "Cool, thanks! But can we got to the park please??" I pled. Dan looked at Phil. "Sure!" Phil decided. "YES!! MUCH THANK!" I cried, fist pumping.
"Wait, but she'll be in the video," Dan said. "It'll be fine," Phil reassured him.
"LET'S GO!!" I said.

Phil's POV
After a short cab ride, we had arrived at the park. I watched as Lizzy skipped down the path, as though she were floating. She sang loudly and danced to rhythms only she could hear, occasionally stopping so that Dan and I could catch up. Her curly hair bounced as she walked. It was fascinating to watch. Sproing, sproing, sproing. I was so busy watching her bouncy curls that I almost tripped over a flower bed. Dan caught me just in time, however, and planted a quick kiss on my head. {YUP FLUFF}. I smiled slightly and felt a light pink tinge come over my cheeks. Dan smiled warmly at me and helped me back up. "Thanks," I said quietly. "No probs. You should still watch where you're going, though, you spork," Dan laughed.
I checked to make sure that Lizzy hadn't seen. Nope. She was still skipping merrily along, although I think that if she had noticed, we'd notice that she'd notice. Wait, what? I meant she would most likely start screaming, that is, if she ships us, which she probably does. We continued walking as though nothing had happened. Suddenly I remembered something. "Oh yeah, we're supposed to be filming this!"
"Oh shyte, that's right" {I DON'T LIKE SWEARING SO I'LL BE USING REPLACEMENTS} Dan got out his phone and started recording. I saw Lizzy stop and turn around, then come sprinting over when she saw the camera. "So yeah, we have arrived at the park. It's a nice day out," Dan said to his camera. Lizzy came to a screeching halt in front of us. "Hi, what's up? What'd I miss?" she said breathlessly. "Mm, nothing much," Dan said. "Phil tripped over a flower bed."
I laughed. "Omigosh are you okay?" Lizzy rushed. "Yeah, I'm fine," I said, partly to the camera and partly to Lizzy. "Good," Lizzy said. "I had just gotten distracted by your hair. I like the way it bounces," I said to Lizzy.
Lizzy beamed. "Thanks! I like your fringe," she complimented. "Aww, thanks!" I said, smiling. "And I'm just here, getting no compliments whatsoever," Dan said. "Aww, Dan, I like your hair too," I said to him. Lizzy squeaked, but I didn't know why. "Yeah, Dan, you look fabulous!" She said happily. "Well, thanks," Dan said. "You're welcome," Lizzy beamed. She smiled a lot. Her face, everything about her radiated joy.
"So, Lizzy, found any good Pokemon yet?" Dan asked. "No, because I don't have a device," Lizzy said flatly. "But I have found some! Come on!" She said, suddenly taking off. She slowed down to a walk and stopped, waiting for us to catch up. Thank goodness for our long legs, otherwise we would've lost her. "BEHOLD!!!" Lizzy said, gesturing dramatically to a squirrel. "OMG," Dan said. "It's the rare... Squirrelee,"
"Squeierly," Lizzy said. "Why do you guys said 'squirrel' so weirdly?" She inquired. "What do you mean, weirdly?" I asked, puzzled.
"You pronounce it like' sque-url," She clarified. "Alright, how do you say it, then?" Dan asked her. "Squerll," she said. {I noticed that that looks really weird... CONTINUE} "Squurll," I repeated. "Yeah, more or less," She shrugged.
"Oh my gosh, wait I think I just found a Pokemon!" Dan said excitedly. "Really?" I asked. "OOO!" Lizzy squealed. "Yeah, it's a bulbasaur!" Dan told us.
"Oh! That's the plant one, right?" Lizzy asked. Dan snorted. "The plant one,"
"Hey!" Lizzy said defensively. "I don't know my pokemon! I learned Pokemon from watching you two play Pokemon Go!"
Dan shook his head and caught the pokemon. "What should I name this one?" he asked. "OH NAME IT PLANTY!" Lizzy said. "Or, no, name it... Mimblus Mimbletonia," {IF YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS I LOVE YOU}.
"Umm, no." Dan said. "How about Leafy," he said. "Rather uncreative name, but okay," Lizzy said respectfully.

We were walking across the park to go back home. It had been a great day, but it was being cut short by ominous thunderclouds. "Dark and ominous clouds being dark and ominous," Lizzy had said. We had finished filming the video. Dan was very bitter over me catching a powerful pokemon that he didn't have yet. "Salty, salty," Lizzy teased. Thunder rumbled in the distance. "Oh dear," Lizzy said. She looked unperturbed by the rain ruining our trip to the park. In fact, she looked elated.
"LOOK!!!!!" Lizzy shouted suddenly. Dan and I whipped our heads around. "What!?" I cried. "Where?!" Dan cried. "A CAT!!!" She yelled. I saw a small cat under a tree. It was mostly black, but had white and with mismatched eyes; One blue and one brown. "Yes it is a cat," Dan confirmed. Lizzy went ahead to pet it. She gasped. "It's hurt!" I walked over to her. The cat was lying down, panting slightly. It had a large gash on it's side and face. It blinked at us. "You're right," I said, kneeling next to her. "C'mon guys, we have to go," Dan called to us.
"We can't just leave her!" Lizzy cried. "How do you know it's a she?" I asked. "I don't, but I have to give it a gender, and she looks like a girl, so she's a girl until proven otherwise," She replied. "Who knows, maybe you're misgendering her," Dan joked, walking over to us. "Oh, yeah, she is hurt," Dan said, now seeing the cat. "What do we do?" I asked.
"Well, we take her home," Lizzy said, as though this was obvious. "Bring her home? No," Dan said. "But she's hurt!" Lizzy cried. "At least bring her to the vet," She pleaded.
"But... It's not our cat," Dan protested. "She could be," I said without thinking. What was I saying!? Then I realized; I really wanted this cat. She was so cute and small, and besides, we NEEDED a pet. Dan didn't want a hamster or a fish, and this cat needed rescuing.
"Phil?" Dan asked. "What do you mean?" Lizzy turned to me. Her eyes were huge and sparkly, like an anime characters. "So we can keep her??" Lizzy squealed. "NO!" Dan said firmly. "I dunno, Dan," I said. "I mean, we've wanted a pet forever,"
Dan looked at me like I was insane. Which is more or less true, I guess. Lizzy watched our conversation like she was watching a very interesting ping-pong match. "We could just keep her until we find a better home for her," I suggested. "Yeah! We could foster her!" Lizzy said, looking at Dan with hopeful eyes. "I don't know," Dan looked unsure. "It's a lot of responsibility and-" I decided to use my last resort; I made puppy-dog eyes and stuck out my lower lip slightly in a pout. "Please, Dan?" I pled in a quiet voice. Lizzy looked at me and make a face that looked like 'Oh crap this just got serious.'
Dan just sighed and tried to look angry at me but I could tell he was fighting down a smile. "Alright, fine," he huffed. Lizzy's eyes lit up. "We can keep her!?"
"Sure," Dan said. I beamed. "Yay!" Dan smiled. "So, we need a way to carry her," he said. "We could always just carry her in our arms," Lizzy bounced excitedly. "I'll carry her," I offered. "Okay," Lizzy said. I gathered the small cat up in my arms. She didn't seem alarmed to have a strange person carrying her. Or him. Whatever. "We need a name," Lizzy said, jumping.
"Alright, how about..." Dan paused, thinking. "Susan 6!" I exclaimed, smiling. Dan looked at me with his are-you-kidding-me-phil face. He made that face a lot. "Phil, really? We're not naming the cat Susan 6,"
"That can be one of her middle names," Lizzy said decisively. We continued walking, determined not to get caught in the rain. I made sure to take extra care of the bundle of fur in my arms. She-or he- was so soft.
"How about.... Toto?" Lizzy suggested. "No that's the name of our Undertale character," Dan said. "I know. Maybeeee," Lizzy held out the 'eeeee' as she thought. "Cat. No, just kidding, ummmmmm.. Leo Meowdez,"
"What?" I asked. "Nothing," She responded, waving her hands. "Percy Jackson stuff. How 'bout Fluffernutter?" "That's cute," Dan nodded. "Yeah.... But I don't know if I want for it to be her real name. Maybe Crookshanks?" She said. "I like Crookshanks," I said, looking down at the cat. "Phil, any suggestions?" Lizzy asked me. "Oh, umm, Robocat!" I said. Lizzy laughed.
We walked all the way to the mouth of the park. It had started to sprinkle. Lizzy kept on suggesting names and shooting them down five seconds later. The cat laid blissfully in my arms. Dan hailed a taxi and I hid the cat under my galaxy coat, praying that she/he would stay quiet. Thankfully, the only times it made noises Lizzy would talk loudly to cover up the sound. She was quite good at that. Soon we had arrived back at the flat. It had actually started raining now. We hurried inside. Once we got into our apartment, Lizzy told me that for the first few days, Kitty (that's what we decided would be her temporary name) should stay in her room, just to get adjusted. Dan looked on Google for vets near us and scheduled an appointment. I was editing the Pokemon video when my stomach growled. We had forgotten to eat dinner.
"Dan? Lizzy?" I called. "You guys hungry?" "Yeah!" Dan yelled through the wall. "YES PLAS!" Lizzy shouted. Goodness, that girl could be loud! "Okay, what do you want?" I asked them. "Umm, do you have peanut butter?" Lizzy shouted. "Yeah, I think so!" Dan yelled back. "K! I'm good! I know what I'm having!" "Dan, what do you want then?" I asked. "I think we have some leftovers," He replied. "Okay." I said.
I went into the kitchen to find Lizzy rummaging around in the fridge. "What are you doing?" I asked, reaching over her head to grab the leftovers that Dan desired. "Lookin' for grape jelly," she said. "Oh, we don't have any, I think. We do have some jam, though," I told her. "What type?" she asked. "Peach. It's really good!" I told her. She wrinkled her nose. "I don't really like peach jam. Or any peach thing, actually. I really just prefer Smuckers grape stuff. Even though I don't actually like real grapes,"
I laughed. "You are a mystery to me." She grinned. "I think I'll just have a peanut butter sandwich,"
"Sounds great!" I said, heating up the food.
"Thanks, by the way, for allowing us to get the cat," Lizzy said. "It was nothing," I said truthfully. "You helped change Dan's mind," Lizzy pointed out. "I think it was just because he was outvoted. Also, we've been wanting a pet forever," I said.
I finished heating up the food and brought it to Dan. We ate and discussed what we would need to do with the cat. Not only had we adopted a child, but now we had a pet to take care of, too.
