I step out of the shower, quickly wrapping a towel around me so I don't have to see my body. My female body. I'm a boy. Or, a girl. I was born a girl, but I'm transgender. Female to male.

I take a deep breath then turn, being forced to see my reflection when I drop the towel. A cringe forms on my face, and I quickly slip on a pair of underwear before pulling on a hoodie, hiding the fact that I have boobs - and that I was born a girl. But my voice always gives it away, because I cant afford the pills that will change my voice and facial features.

I pull on a pair of sweatpants, then my shoes, and grab my wallet and walk down the hall, pulling my hood up in the process. My hair has begun to grow out again, so I'm going out to get a haircut.

I walk out of the building, running into my friend Jason on the way out. "Hey, Alex," he says as he walks up beside me. Every time he calls me Alex, I smile. I'm always misgendered by the people in that stupid adoption center, and they always call me by my girl name. Alexandria.

I wave a bit and smile. "Hey," I say then cringe at my girly, high pitched voice.

"Mind if I tag along for you to get your haircut?" Jason asks, shoving his hands in his pockets.

I look over at him and raise my eyebrows. "Don't you work today?" I ask, a bit confused.

"No," he says, raising his eyebrows. "I have the weekend off." He says then stretches his arms over his head, showing off a bit of his v - line. Something I wish that I could have. But I can't.

I narrow my eyes at him, giving him my look that says don't do that.

He raises his hands in mock defeat. "Okay, chill, I was just stretching," he chuckles.

Oh, did I ever mention that I'm gay? Yeah, I'm a boy, attracted to boys.

I stop and turn then jog out into the street, getting honked at by a few cars, but I ignore them.

"Alex, you idiot!" Jason shouts as he jogs across after me.

I grin from ear to ear and laugh a bit. "I know, right?"

I've always been an idiot. Crossing streets, running across railroad tracks when there's a train coming, jumping off of a roof into a pool, yeah. Basically that.

Jason scoffs as he walks up beside me. "So, how's the place you're staying at?"

I narrow my eyes a bit. "I told them I'm a boy, they didn't want me anymore because I'm trans - and that isn't on my adoption record, and they brought me back." I huff.

"Oh - I'm sorry." Jason says, frowning."I'd give you a place to stay but - you know how my family feels about that lgbt stuff," he says, practically muttering.

I nod a bit and sigh. "Yeah," I say and kick an imaginary rock. "It's fine, I'll eventually find my family," I say and smile a bit, but deep down inside, nobody wants a transgender 18 year old boy.

I start crossing the entrance to a parking lot, and I hear Jason shout something, but before I can look back, a car hits me, making a dull thud, and sending me skidding about ten feet.

I grunt as I skid to a stop, wincing as I lift my face up from the pavement, and by the way it's stinging, I know that it's cut up.

"Oh shit, I'm so sorry!" A males voice says as he jogs up, a pair of black vans coming into view. "I wasn't looking - I didn't even see her -"

I wince at the word her.

"It's a he - he's trans female to male," Jason corrects the stranger.

"Oh - I'm sorry - did I offend him -?"

Jason shakes his head. "No. He's always super nice when people misgender him - unless it's on purpose."

I groan as I sit up and press a hand to my face, and see blood on my hand when I pull it away.

I definitely don't have any broken bones. My jeans are just torn, and I have some scrapes, and I'm definitely going to have some bruises.

"Hello, 911?" Now that I'm paying attention, I realize that this person has a British accent.

I look up to find a really attractive man standing there, with brown hair that has an undercut, and is slicked back with gel.

He's talking quickly over the phone, and moments later, a black car shows up with two men in it, one with brown hair and one with black hair, both with similar styles, except one is swept the opposite way.

The brunette gets out and calls to the man on the phone. "Jared!" He calls while jogging over.

"Lay back down, Alex," Jason says, slowly laying me down before pulling his shirt off and pressing it against my cut up face.

I ignore the fact that my best friend is now shirtless, and I'm laying here, with his shirt pressed against my face, applying a bit of pressure to stop the bleeding.

"The fuck?!" The mans voice scolds Jared. "Did you hit her?!"

"Calm down, Dan, sh - he's fine," Jared says, and seconds later, sirens can be heard.

Dan puts his hands on top of his head and groans then looks up and breathes out. "You're lucky if they don't sue you," Dan says with an annoyed tone.

"We won't," I reassure him and smile a bit. "Just a bit of an accident, a few cuts and bruises - it's fine," I say, blowing it off.

"Alex -" Jason says, but I shoot him my death glare, which he then immediately backs off to.

Police cars and ambulances quickly pull into the parking lot, and I sit up again.

The paramedics quickly rush over to me and begin cleaning my cuts, checking for any broken bones, then bandaging my cuts - leaving the one on my face, before they leave.

I breathe out and stand up then look at the four men who are standing there now, and I stare at the black haired man, who's standing beside the brown haired man, and my eyes widen when I see that they're Dan and Phil.

"Oh.. My god.." I practically whisper.

Phil looks over at me and gives me a look. "I'm sorry - what was that?" He asks.

"Oh uh - sorry. Just a bit awestruck that I'm standing in front of two of my favorite people," I laugh nervously and look away.

Dan looks at me and gives me a little smirk, making my heartbeat spike a little bit.

Stop it, you little british fuck.

"So you know us?" Dan asks, turning towards me.

My eyes flick over to Jason before they turn back to Dan. "Uh - I mean, yeah. Of course I do," I say and cringe at my inner fanboy struggling to escape. "But I usually don't have much time to watch your videos," I mutter and look down at my feet.

"Why's that?" Phil asks.

"Because of the place he lives in." Jason says, making me punch his shoulder. "The fuck, man?"
 I  hiss.

"The - place you live in?" Dan asks, arching an eyebrow.

I narrow my eyes at Jason before sighing and looking down at my feet.

"I don't have a family. So I live in an orphanage, adoption center, whatever you wanna call it. I've been adopted but as soon as they find out I'm trans, they bring me back. And I don't have time, because I'm always the one stuck doing chores," I say and shrug.

"Phil, can I talk to you for a second?" Dan asks then leads Phil over to their car.

I see Jason inspecting my face, and I look over at him then narrow my eyes. "Stop. Jason, I'm fine." I say and cross my arms.

"Chill, I'm just making sure you're alright." He says and rolls his eyes.

I sigh a bit and raise my eyebrows when I see Dan and Phil returning.

"Alex, how would you feel about Dan and I adopting you?" Phil asks, and at that moment, my heart skips a beat.

"You - adopt me?" I ask in disbelief.

"Of course, why not?" Dan asks, smiling.

I look over at Jason. Him and I both know they live in the UK, and that would involve me leaving the country.

Great. Now I'm split in two.
