Chapter Two

(Please take in mind that I'm from America and I go to a public school so I don't know how these school schedules and such work in Australia, let alone a private school. Thank you xx)

Katelyn's point of view

"Hey darling, you know school starts soon right?" Luke asked me and I nodded as I looked at him. "We thought that maybe Monday will be good because it's Thursday today."

"That's fine. I don't mind." I told him and laughed lightly. "I don't really have a choice." I said and he nodded, telling me that I actually did not.

"It's a private school." He told me and I nodded slowly as he walked into my room. He went to my closet and began to pull out some things.

"Your uniform looks like this." He told me and I scooted away from the edge of the bed.

He laid a Navy blue skirt down, a white button up, a Navy blue tie, a Navy blue blazer, a pair of blue knee high socks, and then laid laid a similar outfit beside it that was khaki, white, and Navy blue.

"Ew." I commented. "They're ugly but if I have to, I guess I'll wear them." I said and he laughed. "Did you have to wear uniform when you went to school?"

"Yep." He said and gave me a smile. "We all did darling. Michael stopped after awhile because he hated it but none of that nonsense okay? We want you to be good and graduate." He said and I nodded.

"What are the rules?" I asked him and he pulled a booklet out of his back pocket. He sat down beside me and I watched him open it.

"There is no chewing gum and using your phone on campus." He said and I nodded. "You must wear your uniform and you must be respectful to the staff members. A passing grade is a C but we want to push you to try and get A's okay?" He said and looked at me.

"Okay. Understood and understandable." I said and he began going on about the attendance and the periods. I just nodded along and hummed, agreeing and showing that I understood it all.

"So, no dying my hair?" I asked and he shook her head. "Aww, I wanted to be like Mikey later." I pouted and he chuckled.

"Sorry darling." He said and gave me a side hug. "The school doesn't allow dyed hair." He told me and I nodded.

"So, Michael got in trouble a lot then? Like, when he was in school?" I asked him and he laughed.

"Oh no, he didn't start dying his hair until after he dropped out. Besides, we didn't go to a private school. Our parents didn't have the money to pay for it." He said and I nodded.

"Oh." I said and he closed the booklet. "Do I have classes yet or do I get to pick them?" I asked him and he handed me a paper that was inside of the booklet but folded up.

"Here are your classes." He said and handed it to me. I unfolded it and then read through them all.

Intetgrared Physical Science, Room 32

Algebra 1 Honors, Room P98

Music, Room H16

English 1 Honors, Room P93

Lunch

Spanish 1, Room 25

Gym, Girl's gym

"Oh, ew." I said and set it aside. "I hate algebra, and Biology." I said and sighed. "There tolerable but I just don't like them." I told him.

"I can help in algebra darling, my mum is a math's teacher so I guess that automatically makes me good in the subject. It's okay." He told me and I nodded. "I think it's amazing that you have gym for last period."

"Yeah." I said and looked at him. "I have a uniform for gym too huh?" I asked him and he nodded sadly.

"It's black sweats and a blue shirt with the school's logo or name on it." He told me and I sighed. "It's okay, I promise that it will be better than your old school." He said with a smile.

"Any school would be better than it." I said and chuckled. "But thanks Luke, this means a lot to me, honestly." I told him and he kissed my forehead.

"It's okay babe, don't sweat it." He said and I nodded. "Anyways, I'm expecting a lot out of you okay? You're a bright young lady and I'm positive that you're capable of getting straight A's and staying out of trouble."

"Yeah, I can do that." I told him and smiled smally. I think I can manage that...

"Good." He smiled and I giggled as he pulled me into a hug. "Now, Mikey is in his room with his phone playing Bring Me The Horizon. You going to go keep him company?"

"Yeah." I said and nodded quickly. "What are you gonna do since I'm going to be with Michael?" I asked him, feeling bad that I was going to be with his boyfriend.

"I'll just go take a nap or something. It's fine." He told me with a forced smile. "Don't worry about it."

"Are you sure? If-If you want to be with Michael, that's okay. I can listen to music by myself. I am fourteen. I can do stuff by myself." I said and he just shook his head.

"It's fine." He said again and I stood up. "Just remember the school rules okay? If you forget, I'll let you see the booklet. I'm keeping it so you don't lose it." He told me.

"You lost your keys."

"I can't lose a bright yellow booklet." He told me and we both laughed a bit. "Go on." He said and I nodded.

I went to Michael's room and then looked at him. "I'm here for some Bring Me The Horizon?" I asked and he looked at me.

"If you're looking for the actual band, they are not here." He told me and I nodded. "If you're here to listen to music, come lay down."

"Oops, wrong place then." I said and pretended to leave the room, which made him laugh. I walked to his bed and then I took a seat beside him on his bed. "Do I need to take notes?"

"There will be a quiz at the end of this." He said and I think he was joking. I nodded and he began to play some video called Throne. "This is their new song off their new albums called That's The Spirit."

"I see." I said as I looked at the music video. "Oh shit he's hot." I said and he looked at me. "Damn."

"His name is Oliver Sykes and he is married."

"So? He's still hot." I said and he rolled his eyes. "His tattoos. Oh my god." I said and he just shook his head at me.

"You like tattoos then?"

"You could say that." I said and nodded. "I'm sorry, I'm being really weird right now. I'll stop."

"It's fine, don't worry about it." Michael said and I nodded. "I'm weird too. Everyone is weird."

I nodded and then watched the rest of the video with him. "That was a good song. It's really catchy." I said and he agreed. I hummed the song and he laughed as he did the same.

"You can throw me too the wolves," he sang loudly and I laughed. "Tomorrow I will come back, leader of the whole pack." He finished.

"Nice growl." I said and he smiled while thanking me. "Oli sounds better though." I told him and he rolled his eyes.

"Whatever."

"So, how are you liking it here?" Luke asked as we ate dinner. It was simple, baked chicken with a salad. "Are we doing a good job so far?"

"Yeah." I said and smiled. "I like it here, but I guess anywhere is better than the adoption center you know? It's so... gloomy there and everyone there had some kind of pent up frustration that I don't understand..." I told them. "But everyone goes through different things. I guess I understand." I said and they nodded. "I had it easy I guess. I don't know." I told them.

"We don't either darling. Hate to sound like an asshole, but we grew up with our parents a room away. We don't know what it's like to not have parents." Michael told me and I nodded.

"It's fine. Maybe... Maybe giving me up was important. Maybe it meant they had enough money to take care of themselves now or their other kids. Or maybe they were forced too. I don't know." I said and Luke smiled sadly.

"You just like looking at the positive side of things. You're not upset? It doesn't make you mad or anything?" He asked me curiously.

"I get frustrated because I don't know the exact reason, but I'm not mad. I get upset because I'll never know what it feels like to have a normal family with a mum, a dad, a sibling, and maybe a pet, but it's alright. I have you guys, right?" I asked them and they nodded.

"You have us, Calum, and Ashton. Promise." Luke said and smiled at me. "We're your family now sweetheart. Maybe you don't have a mum and a pet, but Calum is feminine enough to at least act like one and then you have Michael. " He said and I laughed as they both chuckled.

"Wait, Luke, for music class, what instrument is it directly?" I asked him and he looked at me.

"Precussion and Lute." He told me and I nodded. "You have like drums and stuff, or strings, like guitar and stuff." He explained.

"I know. I had music class in my old school. I wasn't good at it, but I had it and passed the written parts of the tests." I told them and they nodded. "I failed the physical part. I was bad at every instrument in there; chello, guitar, piano, everything."

"Don't worry darling, you're living with one-half of a band. We can help you, depending on what instrument you're given." Michael told me and smiled. "We can show you the ropes, or should I say, the strings."

"We're breaking up." Luke said as he took a bite of his chicken. "I want you to get your things and then get the fuck out."

"Baby, don't be like that. It was a joke. I'm sorry it was so terrible. I needed to crack the seriousness in the air." Michael pouted and I laughed.

"Come on Luke, it wasn't that bad." I said and gave him the puppy dog face that always worked on the caretaker.

"Just because you're hot and your puppy dog face is really fucking adorable." Luke said and I smiled triumphantly. The two shared a kiss and I chuckled.

"The caretaker always cracked under my puppy dog face. If I really wanted something, I just did the face and it was mine. It works every time." I told them and they nodded.

"You're a dork." Michael said and I nodded. "Why did we adopted you again?" He asked me.

"You said it was because I was fun to be around and was just a little ball of sunshine. I don't know." I told them and they laughed. "It's physically impossible to be a little ball of sunshine though. At least, I believe it is."

"I wouldn't know, I dropped out." Michael said and Luke told him that was his excuse for everything he doesn't know. "Hey, in my defense, the god damn schools don't teach you how to pay bills, create bank accounts, and do taxes."

"He's right." I butt in and Luke rolled his eyes with a chuckle. "Half of it is very unecessary." I said and Luke agreed.
