Bella's POV

I started up at the clock on the wall, listening to the quiet ticking sounds it made. I couldn't wait for class to end, because it was the last class of the day, and after this, I would get to go to rehearsal. Today we were going to start blocking! I tapped my pencil against my hand, lightly, as I daydreamed about all the fun I would have in only 45 minutes.  But, when you're excited about something, even a few minutes can feel like an eternity, so by the time it was 3:30, I was getting pretty restless. At least I would get a chance to move! And, the spot where I had gotten my joint injection finally felt all better! When the bell finally rang, I leapt out of my seat, grabbing my backpack. I practically flew down the hall towards the auditorium. I was one of the first ones there, and when I tried to open the door, I found that it was locked. I was soon joined by a girl with dark skin and long hair, the colour of dark chocolate. She was wearing a tank top paired with a black jacket and black boots to match. She had golden hoop earnings and a chocker. This was Carmen. She was wearing earbuds and not paying much attention, stealing glances at Bella every now and then, quickly averting her eyes when she saw Bella looking back. But then, she saw a girl who looked all to familiar in her lipgloss and her smug grin approaching. Olivia. She walked up to be and pushed me into the locker. "Ugly freak!" She sneered. 

 "Yeah, no." Carmen said, narrowing her eyes. "You don't get to do that." She walked over and grabbed Olivia by the arm as I stood there in shock. 

 "Let go of me!" Olivia yelled. 

 "Look, you better stop bothering Bella right now." Carmen hissed. "You may be pretty and popular, and have a lot of friends, but Bella's one thing that you'll never be. Wanna know what it is?" Olivia just glared at her, silently. "Kind." Carmen stated. "She's one of the most kind-hearted people at this school, and that makes her a hell of a lot prettier than you. Because unlike you, she's great inside and out. So you better leave her alone, or you'll have me to answer to." Carmen let go of Olivia and watched as she bolted down the hall away from us.

 I stood there wide-eyed, before turning around to see Carmen looking at me, a small smile on her lips. I met her eyes. "Thanks."

 "Anytime, babe." She grinned. "I've got your back."  I could feel myself blushing, so I turned away, as the others joined as. Ms Jodes unlocked the door and we all flooded into the auditorium.
