Chapter 4
Erika's POV
"Wow." I said impressed, looking at Barrett and the sleeping child.
"It's a gift." She replied, smiling.
"Guys, we're going on soon, what are we gonna do with Bella?" Asked Kyle, "We can't just leave her here! What if she tries to run away?"
"I have an idea." I said, "Kyle, give me your phone." Kyle looked at me confused, but didn't protest. I FaceTimed myself on Kyle's phone and answered. I set up Kyle's phone facing Bella, and put my phone in my pocket. "Boom," I exclaimed proudly, "Makeshift nannycam."
"Woah." Kyle said in awe. Taylor high fived me.
"You and Kerry can change in our dressing room," Taylor told Barrett, "That was you won't wake her."
"Thanks." They both said at the same time.
On stage that night I noticed a change in all of us. All of us were putting so much more emotion into out characters. It was Bella. Her story triggered something in all of us. We put the hurt, anger, sadness, and guilt into our characters, and it made the whole musical better.
At intermission I found Barrett nervously pacing around my dressing room. "Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah," She replied, "just nervous. I talked to the cops and her dad was caught and placed in jail." She took a deep breath. "Erika, I want to foster her."
"Barrett, that's amazing!"
"Thanks, but I'm scared. What if she says no?"
I laughed. "Of course she'll say yes!" I exclaimed, "she adores you."
"Thanks, Erika," she said, "you're a good friend."
"Anytime."
