Bella's POV 

  "Good morning!" Barrett said. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. "Bella, I have some bad news. I called the doctor and we have to take you in for testing."

 "Huh?" I asked.

 "Your throat." Barrett reminded me. "Come on. We have to leave soon." I pulled on some sweatpants and a shirt. After all, I didn't need to get dressed up for the doctor. I grabbed my pink Mean Girls tote bag and put in my rabbit, my phone, and my book. "You ready?" Barrett called.

 "Coming!" I yelled back. The drive there was pretty fun. The Children's Hospital was about 20min away so we got to sing a few songs. By the time we got there, we had sang Show Yourself, Waving through a Window, and Candy Store. We pulled into the parking lot, and walked in together. 

 "Bella?" The doctor called. We walked into her office and sat down. She checked my heartbeat, my eyes, my ears, and my throat. This is going well! "Okay, now we need to do a blood test." She said, pulling out a needle. 

 I started crying. "Please, no needles!" I whimpered. 

 "Bella." Barrett tried to reason, "This is for your health." She reached into my bag and passed me my phone. "Here." She told me, "You can watch YouTube while they do it." I took the phone and put on one of the Broadway.com videos I had watched while I was with that awful foster family. It was one of the only things that made me happy. I felt a pinch.

 "Ow!" I shouted. It was over. We walked out together to the waiting room. The doctor came out.

 "Bella, you have tonsilitis." She said.

 "Is that bad?!" I asked, nervously.

 "Left untreated, yes, but we can cure it with a surgery." The doctor explained.

  "Great." I muttered. "Another surgery."

 "Hey." Barrett said, rubbing my back, soothingly. "It'll be ok."
