2 weeks later

Barrett's POV: 

 It had been 2 weeks since Bella came home, and tonight, after the show, I had a surprise for her. I had a ton more energy than normal because of the anticipation. After the show, I sent Grey to get her and bring her to the stage. I paced around, nervous. I hope she likes the surprise.

Bella's POV

 I was sitting in Barrett and Kerry's dressing room, reading my favourite book. It was written by this girl named Valerie Salazar and it was really good. I didn't hear Grey come in. "Boo!" He yelled.

"Ahhh!" I screamed, jumping. 

"Broadway scares." He said with a smile. "Now come to the stage." Barrett wants you.

Barrett's POV

Everyone was gathered on the stage to support me. I looked at Bella and then looked down at the piece of paper. My hands were trembling. I started to read from the paper I had written. 

"Bella. You are the light of my life. Before you came to the August Wilson, everything was okay. Now, everything is so amazing in every way possible." I started to tear up. "You were the best thing to ever happen to us. Bella Anna Greene, may I adopt you?" 

Bella's POV

Excuse me, what?! I burst into tears. "Yes!" I shouted hugging her. Everybody went "awww"and someone put on music. We danced the night away.  

 The next morning we went to the courthouse. We walked in and saw another couple there. Shit. It was my dad's best friend and his wife, the Beetletons. What were they doing here?! I decided not to tell Barrett that I knew them because I didn't want to scare her. They also wanted to adopt me! Barrett did amazing, but they made a good case too. About how they couldn't have kids, and all they wanted was a daughter. None of it was true, of course. At the end, the judge made his verdict. I was shaking as he announced: "My ruling is the following: the Beetletons will be given custody over Bella." I burst into tears and ran out of the room.
