Chapter 33
Collin's point of view
After I finished my breakfast, I ran up to my room and then brushed my teeth. I also washed my face and fixed my hair a bit. I had put contacts on today so I didn't need my glasses.
I went to my dresser when I finished and then I grabbed a pair of black skinny jeans. I pulled them on and then put a white t-shirt over it.
I put some bracelets on my wrists and then laced on a pair of black and white converse. After setting one of Michael's black snapbacks on my head, I put my backpack over my shoulder and then left the room.
I walked downstairs and Luke looked at me. "Finally wearing those contacts we got you awhile back?" He asked me and I nodded while laughing a bit.
"Yeah, they're not as bad as I though." I said and he nodded, telling me that he knew I'd think that. "I'm ready."
"I know. I'll meet you in the car." He said ad he tossed me the keys. "I need to put a shirt and some shoes on."
"Okay."
-
"Hey!" Someone shouted and I stumbled a bit as I was pushed into the locker. "Watch where you're going!" He told me and I looked at people stopped to stare.
Oh, so people like me one day and then hate me the next. Nice.
I held my side in pain since one of the locks hit my side when I hit the lockers and I cowered down a bit as he glared at me. "Don't get in my fucking way-"
"Hey! What do you think you're doing!" Some varsity jacket wearing boy shouted. He was clearly on some school team and was obviously older than I was. "You don't just fucking push people around without a reason!"
He grabbed the boy that pushed me by the collar and slammed him against the lockers. "If you fuck with Collin again I will kick your pathetic ass, understand me? He doesn't need your shit." He said and the boy nodded quickly.
Oh, varsity jacket is the boy who used to push me around but then apologized to me...
"Scram." The boy in the varsity jacket said, throwing the other boy to the ground. He ran away quickly and people cheered, quite a few asking if I was okay.
"I-I'm fine." I answered, wincing a bit as I moved. "Thank you." I told the boy and he just nodded.
"It's nothing man." He said and shrugged his jacket off. "So it doesn't happen again, wear this for the day. It has my last name and people know not to fuck with the kids I'm friends with." He said, handing me the jacket.
Just so I didn't look weird and start the whole 'take the damn jacket' argument, I put it on and he smiled. "Catch me at lunch and you and your friends can sit with my team. It's fine."
I nodded and he gave me a small nod before walking off. People looked at me and I just looked down, feeling weird that some dude on the football team just gave me his jacket to wear so no one pushes me around.
"Collin, dude what happened?" Justin asked as he grabbed my hands. "What are you wearing?"
"Some dude's jacket so I don't get fucked with." I said and he nodded. "He wants us to sit with him at lunch."
"Oh shit it's Castillo?" He asked me as he read the last name. "Fuck, he's hot. Do you know how hot he is? Do you know how bad I'm into him?" He said as he grabbed my shirt.
"Do you know that he's probably going to graduate this year? He's like four years older than you." I asked him and he huffed.
"Age is just a number my friend." He said and I nodded. "You think I'll have a chance?"
"Even if he was gay? No." I said and he rolled his eyes as he pushed me slightly. "I'm being honest."
"You're an asshole, I'm being honest." He mocked after I pouted. I chuckled and then Kayla walked over to us.
"Hi guys. Who's varsity is that?" She asked me as she saw it. She knew I didn't own a jacket like this.
"Some guy's off of the football team. He saw me get pushed around a bit and he um gave it to me to wear all day." I said and she nodded. "He wants us to sit with him and his friends."
"Are we?" She asked me and Justin and he nodded immediately. "Wow, so eager to hang out with other people. Nice." She said.
"The guy is hot as fuck."
"I see." She said and nodded. "Valid reason, let's go." She told me and I pouted. "I'm kidding Collin."
"You better be because he actually is attractive." I told her and she rolled her eyes as she pulled out some drawing.
"Here," she said and I immediately reached into my own bag. I pulled out my staying of her and she laughed as she took it.
"What is this?" Justin asked as he looked at both papers. "You drew each other? How cheesy."
"Shut up Justin."
-
"Hey Collin, hey Collin's friends." The dude who gave me his jacket said. He threw an arm over my shoulders and I looked up at him. "Anyone fuck with you buddy?"
"No, they seemed... afraid." I said and he laughed. "Thank you." I told him and he just nodded.
"Anytime man." He said and led us to a table full of really pretty girls and really intimidating guys. "So these are your friends?"
"Yeah uh this is Kayla, my girlfriend and this is Justin,-"
"His incredibly hot best friend who's totally single and fabulous." Justin cut me off and I threw my head back as I laughed.
"You are cute, I'll give you that." The guy on the football team said and Justin blushed.
He blushed.
Holy shit.
"I never said my name, wow. I'm Lewis." He said and I nodded. "The super hot football player who's totally single and fabulous." He said, mocking Justin's previous words.
"I'm more fabulous than you honey." Justin said, snapping his fingers. "Mhm, I am the queen and you cannot top me."
"I'd say something inappropriate about what you just but you're still too young to know about that." He hummed and Justin's jaw dropped. Another blush coated his cheeks and we took a seat at his table.
"What are they doing here?" A girl with black hair said as she saw us. "Scram kids."
"This is my little buddy Collin and if you don't want to be around him, you can leave." Lewis said and she immediately stopped talking. "What's up?"
"We have a game tonight." Some guy said and took a bite of his salad. "Biggest game of the season." He told Lewis.
"You guys coming?" Lewis asked us and I looked at Kayla and Justin. "Come on, you guys have to. It's going to be fun."
"We'll lose so I don't see why we'd go." Justin said teasingly as he bit into a sandwhich his older sibling made him. "What's the point?"
"First it was because it'd be fun, now it's to show you that we're going to win." Lewis said and I looked Kayla.
"Baby, why so you want kids going to your game? How old are they? Six?" Some girl asked and Lewis pushed her off.
"First, I'm not your baby. Second of all, they're only a few years younger than us, they're not toddlers. Third of all, it's the school's team, why wouldn't they want to come?" Lewis asked.
"I'm going." Justin said and I looked at Kayla. "You two coming?"
"It's up to Kayla." I said and she nodded. "Yeah um, we'll go. I'd like to go to a game before I leave." I said and Lewis nodded.
"Shouldn't you ask your parents?" One of the guys asked. "Your parents are fine with you going? You don't have to ask?"
"Shouldn't you ask your parents for some manner tips before you step out of the house acting like a cunt?" Justin retorted and I slammed my hand over his mouth.
"He didn't m-mean that-"
"Why the fuck you lying?" Justin sang after he took my hand off of his mouth. This fucking idiot.
"I like you." The guy he insulted said. "You know how to joke around, I like that." He told him and Justin smiled.
"They're cool." A girl said as she smiled at me. "Luke will let you come to the game then?" She asked.
"Oh yeah, the world knows about that." I mumbled and pulled at the sleeves of the varsity jacket. "Yeah um, he'll be fine with it, as uh as long as I'm home before ten."
"Game ends at eight so that's fine." Lewis said and nodded. "I'll need my jacket back though." He said and I nodded. I took it off and then gave it to him.
"After school." He told me and I nodded. "Anyways, you guys hungry? I'm about to go pick up a tray."
"I'm fine." I said and my friends agreed. I felt awkward when he left and I looked at Justin.
"Do you think Calum or Michael would come with me?" I asked Justin and he nodded. "They're into football so I'd think they'd like to come."
"Did you know they have a concert coming up this week?" A girl asked and I looked at her. "I have tickets to their show."
"I'm going to be there," I said to her. "Me and Kayla. Justin doesn't want to go." I said and he laughed.
"I'm not into that kind of music. I prefer hip-hop." He said and I rolled my eyes. "Enjoy your 5sos."
"Oh, we will." The girl said and I chuckled. "Are they playing 'Jet Black Heart'? It's my favorite song. Michael's voice does stuff to me." She said and I nodded.
"Yeah, they're playing it." I said and she squealed a bit. "They also have some announcements but they didn't tell me what they were about."
She nodded and then Lewis came back with his lunch tray. "Miss me?"
"Nope." Kayla said and he chuckled. "Anyways, you listen to AC/DC?" She asked him asked she noticed asked bracelet on his wrist.
"Ever since I could remember." Lewis answered. "I'm not a fan of the music from now. Call me old but I like the classics from when my parents were teenagers." He said.
"I thought we would be perfect together, but then you just said you don't like Nicki Minaj, my queen, and now I just want to pop you in the head." Justin said as he scribbled in some notebook.
"Sorry babe, her song 'Grand Piano' is amazing if it makes you feel better. She also is really hot." Lewis joked and Justin sighed.
"It kind of does." He said and looked at Lewis with a bored expression. "However she is mine so you can call some other girl really hot."
"I don't know if I'd like to be the cause of a murder." He said and Justin looked at him confused. "Wouldn't want someone to get jealous."
"Who's get jealous? I wouldn't get jealous?"
"I didn't say it was you."
"Shit."
