Brooklyn's point of view
"What did you buy?" Michael asked as we chilled in my room. "Also, who was Nate texting? He seemed all happy and stuff."
"That was Harmony, some girl he met at the store." I said and rolled my eyes. "She's pretty, listens to bands he likes, and is really sweet."
"Are you jealous?" He teased and I shook my head. "You sound like you are. It's like you want to be in her place." He said and I looked at my bags.
"Okay, so this is what I bought." I said, changing the subject quickly because deep down, I know he is right, I just didn't want to admit it. "I got two super cute skirts and I've already showed you Bradley." I told him and he nodded, playing with the small bear in his hands.
"Let me see them." He said and I opened the bag. I pulled them out and then showed him, smiling and I did so. "They're adorable." He told me and I nodded.
"I'm going to wear the flower one to school on Monday and then the plaid on on Tuesday because I just live wearing different things. I hate repeated the same exact outfit." I told him and he chuckled.
"I'm used to it. I have to live out of three suitcases when we go on tour, not counting the shirts I steal from the band." He said and I nodded as I chuckled.
I say down beside him since I was on my desk chair and he leaned his head on my shoulder. "Mikey?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you think..." I started as I actually thought about it. "Do you think I have a shot with Nate?" I asked him and he thought about it.
"Yeah, you do." He said and I nodded. "He's a nice guy and it's his loss if he's not into you. I'm not saying you're young enough to go on dates, I'm just saying that you two would make a cute couple."
"You have the band member and the fashion designer." I said and he laughed and I yawned. "I'm tird. Being yelled at by Ashton and having feeling towards some idiot takes a lot out of you."
"So does losing."
"I'm lost one shooting game. You lost two games." I retorted as I closed my eyes.
"You cheated! You pushed me off of the dance mat." He told me, referring to the dancing game we played in the arcade.
"I did not." I hummed and he huffed. I yawned again and leaned my head on Michael's. "Your hair smells good."
"Thanks, it's sweat." He told me and I chuckled. "How much hate do you think I'll get because of Alondra and the scene she made?"
"Not to sound mean, but a lot." I told him and he sighed. I opened my eyes and looked at him a bit, only being able to are the top of his head.
"I was scared you'd say that."
"It'll be okay. Just know that it's not your fault you were forced to date Medusa herself." I said and he chuckled. "Seriously, have you seen her hair? It's everywhere! Jesus."
"True." He said and chuckled as I closed my eyes. "I'm sorry though love, if I would have been a little more distant in public, neither of us would have to fake date."
"It's my fault too. I shouldn't have posted what I did." I hummed. "Maybe this arrangement can get me a boyfriend though, that would be cool."
"Always so positive." He mumbled and I nodded softly.
"You have to be. If you aren't, this world will eat you up and spit you out until you're either faking it or dead." I said and he nodded slightly.
"Yeah..." He trailed off and I hummed a bit, teetering on the edge of falling asleep. "Take a nap love, it's okay."
"I was gonna, even if you didn't say I could." I mumbled and he laughed as he wrapped an arm around me.
-
"Nate," I whined as he took my phone. I grabbed it back and he stuck his tongue out at me. "Give it back."
"Why?" He asked me, taunting me. He held it up in the air and I jumped for it, even though I couldn't reach it. "Do you have secrets on it?"
"No, I just have pictures of me and the guys, plus a few other celebrities I've gotten to meet." I told him and he scrolled through the pictures.
"You know," he said and tossed my phone on my bed. He grabbed my wrists and spun me around so my back was pressed against his chest. "You're mine, not Michael's."
"Of course." I said and giggled lightly as he kissed my cheek. "Mikey is too old for me, not to mention, out of my league." I told him and I tilted my neck slightly.
"Mhm." He hummed and laced his fingers with mine, keeping my arms crossed in front of me. I lifted my shoulder up to my neck as he kissed my jaw and I laughed lightly.
"Nate, the guys are home. Stop." I mumbled and he nodded. "If we get caught, I'm at the bottom of the ocean and you're decapitated." I told him and he laughed.
"Of course." He said and nodded. I leaned into his touch and he kissed my cheek. "Quick kiss before we go downstairs?"
I gave him a quick kiss and he let go of me. He bit my bottom lip and I heard loud knocking on the door. "Wake up." Someone yelled and I pulled away, confused.
"Brooklyn, wake up darling." I heard Ashton say and I groaned. "Don't give me that attitude young lady, get up and come eat dinner."
-
"What?" I whined and turned around to face whoever was holding me. "I had a really nice dream."
"About Michael?"
"About Nate." I corrected him and he laughed as he poked along my spine. "Mm, go away Luke. I need to dream about him again." I said and there was laughter.
"Why love? I'm right here."
You hear that? No? Well, that was the sound of me shitting my pants. Poor Michael, he's behind me.
"You're kidding me." I said slowly and quietly. I rubbed my eyes and then opened them, seeing Nate standi ng in front of me, dressed in a red flannel, a black shirt, and black skinny jeans.
"Nope. Now get your lazy bum up." He said and grabbed my arms. "We need to talk and dinner will be ready too." He told me and I huffed.
"Fine." I said and looked at Luke, who stood beside us. "You're going to hell for this Hemmings." I said and he gasped.
"What did I do?" He asked but I didn't answer as Michael yelled at us to shut up so he can continue dreaming of Harry Styles.
"Come on, let's go outside." Nate said and grabbed my hand.
"I'm not dressed for outside." I said and Luke left the room. "Let me at least get a hoodie." I said and he took his flannel off.
He put the blanket like fabric on my shoulders and then pushed me out of the room. "You suck Nate." I huffed and he laughed as we walked downstairs.
I stepped into the backyard and literally jumped into Nate. "The floor is cold." I said and he laughed.
"Sit on the table." He said and I did. I sat down on the table and he turned the porch light on.
"What do we need to talk about?"
"I saw you at the mall." He said and I looked at him confused. "I know you got upset when I was talking and texting Harmony." He said and I huffed.
"I'm not jealous."
"Never said you were, I just said you were upset." He said and stepped closer. "What's up? Why were you upset?"
"I wasn't." I lied to him and he rose an eyebrow up at me. My heart raced faster and I gulped a bit.
I thought this feeling only happens in cheesy, cliche books?
"You were." He said and the dream I had of us wasn't helping me in this situation. "You're not getting out of this Brooke, not until you tell me why you were upset."
"It's stupid." I mumbled and he hummed. "I said that it's stupid." I told him louder.
"So you were upset." He said and I blushed a bit. "Its not stupid though, not if it bothers you to the point where you have to lie to me."
"Nate really, can we no-"
"I need answers." He told me and he was so close to me. He was literally standing between my legs with his hands on the cold wooden table I was sitting on.
"Plus, you said you were dreaming about me and I'm kinda curious what it was about." He told me and I looked at him.
"Curiosity killed the cat-"
"But satisfaction brought it back." He finished and I looked down. God dammit. "Come on, just t-"
I leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. "Oh." He said and chuckled. He kissed my cheek and I blushed. "Should have just said." He told me and kissed me this time.
"I was scared you wouldn't like me back." I mumbled to him and he laughed.
"You're crazy.." He said and the sliding door was opening. "Uh oh..." He said and I turned to look at who it was.
"Luke!" Ashton yelled and we pulled away. Panic and worry bubbled in my chest and I looked at Nate.
"I think you can make it if you jump the fence." I said and he looked at me.
"Think I can run fast enough?"
"Nope." Ashton said and grabbed his arm. "You, off the table and inside the house. We're going to talk and I'm gonna try not to flip shit."
"Hey, that hurts." Nate said and I sat down on the couch inside as Luke asked what happened.
"I found these two swapping spit outside."
"We kissed, our spit went nowhere near the other's." I defended and Luke looked between us. "It was a simple kiss."
"Who kiss-Oh shit." Michael said as he looked between me an Nate. "And Ashton caught you? Oh shit. I'll start digging the grave, no one tells a soul." He said and ran back upstairs.
"Thanks for the help you ballsack!" I yelled.
"You're very welcome!" He yelled back and I rolled my eyes, glancing up at Luke and Ashton.
"I'm trying not to flip shit." Ashton said and clasped his hands under his chin. "Why-Why were you two kissing?"
"When two people like each other and feel incredibly happy after telling one another. They get caught up in a moment of happiness and kiss." Nate said calmly and I elbowed him.
"You're not helping."
"He wants the truth." He defended and I glared at him. "You can just lie to them." He told me.
"But the truth isn't better than a lie in a situation of life or death!" I said and he sighed.
"It was my fault."
"Nope, it was mine." I said, glaring at Nate. "Shut up, you're not helping."
"You two arguing is not helping the situation." Luke said and I looked at me. "This isn't a huge deal, it's not like ya'll were ass naked about to fuck."
"Luke!" Ashton yelled and I laughed. "This is a huge deal! We said she couldn't date at such a young age."
"But Ashton, baby, they were faking dating and best friends before that. Best friends can grow to like each other and you can't really get mad at them for it." Luke said and grabbed Ashton's hands.
"How old were you when you had your first kiss?"
"I was thirteen!" Calum yelled, coming out of the kitchen. "Michael was thirteen too!"
"Did ya'll kiss each other or something? Bro." Nate said and I laughed. "I had mine at thirteen, not gonna lie."
"I was fourteen." Ashton sighed and I looked at him. "I'm sorry." He said and I smiled.
"It's okay. Does that mean we're off the hook-"
"Fat chance." Luke said and I huffed. "Ya'll can't be alone, who knows what will happen next? You'll be in his shirt and he'll be between your legs."
"Just because that happens to you and Ashton." Nate huffed as I blushed and the two exchanged a look.
I am in his shirt, and he was between my legs, just not in the way he means.
