Brooklyn's point of view
"I'm home!" I said and threw my backpack on to the floor by the couch. "The princess is back from hell, who missed me?"
"Not me." I heard a familiar voice and I stopped. "We need to talk Brooklyn. Sit down." Thomas said and I scowled a bit as I saw him and his wife.
"You two haven't died yet?" I asked and the guys looked at me wide eyed. "I didn't mean to say that outloud!" I squeaked as Mary glared at me.
"Sit." She said slowly and harshly, as if I couldn't understand her otherwise.
I huffed and then sat down beside Michael since it was the only open spot. "Beside Calum and Ashton." Mary said as if I was stupid.
"Well sorry. I didn't know we had a seating arrangement." I said and then sat between the two after they scooted over a bit. "Why am I needed? I'm not apart of the band."
"Clearly, not only are you incapable of dressing yourself nicely, you have no idea how to keep your mouth shut when needed." Mary said irritated and I tried to stand up but Ashton held my arm.
"It's funny you're saying that when that shirt is clearly way too small and that skirt has clearly been washed one too many times. Looks like you're broke and haven't bought new clothes in seven years." I said and Ashton forced me to sit down.
"Shut up." Ashton whispered to me and I rolled my eyes. "Just do as they say. Don't make this messy."
"Too late. This was messy the moment I saw those two." I said and he gave me a stern look. "Fine. For the band. If your careers weren't on the line, I'd be choking her with my belt by now."
"Thank you."
"Look at this. What did we tell you before?" Thomas asked and threw a magazine at me. I opened my mouth to say something but Calum sent me a look.
I forced a smile and looked at the magazine, my eyes nearly falling out of my head. "Sorry guys, I have to say something." I apologized but then threw the magazine somewhere.
"That is fucking bullshit and I would never date Michael because one, that's awkward, two, he's nearly twenty, three, hate messages, and four, that's fucking awkward because he's their best friend." I said and rolled my eyes. "Stupid pop magazines can burn in hell with the stupid assumption that he'd date a minor."
Calum pinched me and I glared at him. "What did we say? Sit still and be quiet. It'll go by faster." He whisper hissed.
"I refuse to sit still and be quiet." I said and stood up. "This is ridiculous. If your fans would believe this garbage than clearly they don't know you guys, simple."
"Sit the hell down and just listen god dammit." Mary said and I rolled my eyes as Ashton pulled me down on to the couch.
"Because of your guys' reckless actions, we now need to set this shit straight. Clearly media don't believe people when they say they're not dating, we need to step in with fake relationships." Thomas said and I rolled my eyes.
"Ever hear of-"
"I'm not done talking." Thomas snapped and I glared at him. The urge to choke him is just so strong... "We called in two people to help with this and pretend to be your partners."
Two people walked downstairs and I eyed the boy who seemed my age. He gave me a wink and I scoffed. "I'm not doing this."
"You have to unless you want people to believe you and Michael are together." Mary said and I glared at them.
"This is ridiculous."
"Come on babe, it won't be that bad." The boy said and Ashton clearly didn't like him either. "Just a month or two-"
"Of dealing with you and having to be all lovey dovey with you? Not a chance hot shot. I'd rather choke on horse testicles." I said and Michael laughed with Calum.
"Well-"
"No."
"That's Gabriel and this is Alondra. When you go out in public, you'll have to hold their hands and stuff people in relationships do." Mary said and I laughed.
"Does murder count as stuff people in relationships do." I asked and Thomas glared at me. "I'm not fake dating. If I had to fake date anyone, tell Niall Horan to hit me up."
"He's older than Michael."
"Exactly, it won't happen so I'll never fake date." I said and Ashton sighed.
"Does she have to? Is it really necessary?" Ashton asked. "Can't it just be Michael who deals with this all? Can't you keep her out of it?"
"No because then it will be too obvious." Mary said and I rolled my eyes. Not really.
"I refuse to let her date him." Luke said. "He's not giving the best impression. Even if he did, I don't want her fake dating. She's too young to be dating period."
"We'll damn Hemmings, it's your comfort or your fucking reputation. Would you rather have Michael labeled as a pedophile or would you rather deal with seeing two fourteen year olds holding hands?" Thomas asked.
"We're not dating so he's not a pedophile." I said because they're making this such a big deal. "Also, I aswell refuse to date him." I said.
"Can't you just call Nate?" Michael asked me and I looked at him. "He's probably do it just to help you out from dating some random guy. Plus we trust him, somewhat."
"Two days. No actor to play boyfriend, you're dating him." Mary said and I rolled my eyes. "As for now, Alondra, Michael, Michael, Alondra, go post pictures of each other and stuff."
"Whatever." The tall brunette girl said and went up to Michael. She grabbed his hand and then dragged him away.
"God, so much drama over something blown way out of proportion." I muttered and Calum agreed.
"Good day. Remember, two days." Mary said and Gabriel winked one last time before following them out.
"I want to throw things, scream, punch something, rip things, and maybe commit a murder or two." I said and Ashton looked at me.
"I have a junk journal in my room, go tear that up. There's a punching bag in the garage, knock yourself out" He said and I nodded, smiling smally.
"God bless your soul Ashton." I said and then jumped up, running to his room.
-
"Fucking hell you stupid ass management team, damn this shit got me fucked up." I yelled and gripped my phone, probably smashing it in my hand from how tight my grip was.
"Can we have a moment?" Luke asked and he grabbed my arm. I followed him to the backyard and he looked asked me. "Have you called Nate yet?"
"I don't want to do this." I said and he wrapped his two hands around my fist, enclosing it in them.
"You're shaking. I was scared you'd throw your phone at the wall, or worse, at me." He said and I nodded. "Calm down love, it's going to be fine." He told me.
"I just don't understand Luke. Why would the media and your fans believe we're dating? That would be weird and stuff. I couldn't do that, not to you and Ashton, and because like, in a way, he's my uncle." I said and he chuckled.
"A weird one at that." He said and I nodded as we both laughed lightly. "None of us are okay with this, understand? We don't want you fake dating, Michael doesn't want to fake date, and obviously you don't considering the pages of ripped magazine and junk mail in your room."
"I'm not very good with handling my anger and I can get quite violent." I said and he chuckled. "I just don't want Nate to get apart of this."
"Our manager said it'd be for a month or two. It's just to reassure people you're not dating and he's not into little girls." Luke said and I nodded. "Please, do you think you can do that? I know it sucks and I want to slap myself for asking but please, this is for our career."
I looked at him and then looked at our hands. "Fine." I said and sighed heavily. "For the band because I love you guys more than I love myself."
"Thank you princess." He said and kissed my forehead. "I promise it will be all over soon and if Nate refuses, well.... maybe Ashton's sister can help us out with finding a nice guy. I refuse to let you date that fourteen year old prick."
"Oh god." I said and shuddered. "Nate will say yes, if he knows I'll end up with that if he doesn't."
"Good." He said and let go of my hand. "Call him up real quick and after, come meet me in the kitchen. I'm gonna make chicken soup with Michael, one of his mum's recipes."
"Okay, I will." I said and he nodded. He went back inside and I looked at my phone, seeing that Nate texted me asked me what I was doing.
I called him and bit my lip nervously as I waited. "Hey Brooklyn, what's up?" He asked me and I hummed.
"Hi Nate, uh, listen, I have this really big and really dramatic dilemma going on. If I ask you something, promise me you won't hang up?" I said and it was quiet.
"I promise I won't hang up on purpose." He said and I shrugged, good enough. "What's going on? Is everything okay?"
"No, not really." I said and sat down. "Listen um, Michael and I were warned not to be too close to each other but we were anyways-"
"Oh my fucking god Brooklyn Eloise Irwin are you two dating?" He asked me as if he was upset. "That's illegal!"
"Let me finish." I said and he agreed after a moment. "The media thinks we're dating and his fans think were dating. Management need a way to stop the rumors so they decided to make us fake date."
"And you want me to play boyfriend for you?" He asked after a few seconds of silence. "Brooklyn, I don't know..."
"Nate, they already have this dude lined up for me if you don't say yes. None of us like him. He's rude and cocky and he asked me for nudes over instagram." I said and he huffed.
"Now I have to say yes to keep that dick away from you." He grumbled and I smiled smally.
"I'm sorry. I didn't want to drag you into this it's just, I don't want the guys to get fucked up because I was reckless with what I posted and stuff. I'm also being really selfish right now because this is asking a lot, I shouldn't have asked." I said, feeling guilty and upset.
"Did he really ask for nudes?"
"Yeah, like an hour ago. Sent me a shirtless picture of his baby abs and then a selfie of him biting his lip. Really, really weird." I said and he sighed.
"Yeah, I um, I can do this. I'll do it." He said and I smiled. "What do I have to do? Hold your hand? Tweet about you?"
"Basically." I said and smiled smally. "You'll do it?"
"Of course, real boyfriend or fake, I refuse to let you be associated with such a dude. He's a disgusting pig." He told me and chuckled. "You're one of my best friends, I've got your back."
"Thank you so much Nate. You're a true lifesaver." I said and he laughed.
"Anything for you, just know that you owe me if I can't get a girl by the next school dance." He told me and I laughed.
"It's a deal." I said and smiled, incredibly thankful to have him as a friend.
