Chapter Five
Thalia POV
Percy satred at me blankly as the words left my mouth.
"What?" he asked. I sighed.
"You heard me. We can go on the run." I restated.
"I can't Thalia! What about my mom?" he exclaimed, throwing his arms up.
"Think about it Percy! We wouldn't have to see them ever again!" I said. Percy shook his head.
"I know! It's just I can't leave my mom!" he shouted, plopping down next to me. He ran his hands through his hair and huffed in frustration.
I gave up (for now) and turned on the T.V. The news came on, and an image of this huge car crash showed up.
" A huge crash on the freeway leaves five people injured and two dead." the news anchor said.
I turned up the volume, but it went to commercial. I looked over at Percy, who appeared to be concentrating.
Man.... he looks so hot when he concentrates...... I thought, before cringing in disgust. Why did I think that? He's my cousin for Zues's sake.(Sorry dad)
A knock at the door brought me out of my thoughts. Percy got up and opened the door slightly. I couldn't see who was there, but appearently they were important. He closed the door before unlocking the chain on the door. He opened it all the way, ushering them to come inside. Once they were inside, I could tell they were policemen.
"Are you Perseus 'Percy' Jackson, son of Sally and and Paul Blofis?' They asked. Percy nodded.
"Yes...." Percy replied shakily. I couldn't remember anything bad Percy had done recently for the cops to come after him.
They cops removed their hats and said sincerly "There was an acident, and your parents were involved." Percy's eyes widened, and he looked worried.
"Are they alright?" he asked, panic and fear creeping into his voice. They shook their heads very slowly.
"We're afraid they didn't make it." they said, and Percy's face dropped. The usuall shine in his eyes was gone, and instead they looked dead. "We've been informed you'll be staying with an uncle at your summer camp."
They stood there awkwardly a minute before putting their hats back on and lettin themselves out. I looked the door and went back in the living room to find Percy on the couch with tears streaming down his face.
" I can't believe it...." he whispered, his voice cracking. I went over and hugged him. He burried his head in my neck and mummbled something.
"What did you say?" I asked. He looked up at me, his eyes red and puffy.
"On the run it is then"
A/N
When I wrote this chapter, I cried. I love Sally, but in order for the story to work, she had to die. But let me remind you, there are MANY twists so don't feel sad. I hoped you enjoyed this chappie.
