New Years Eve 2018

"Okay, don't drink, don't write your name on your cup, don't leave your cup alone, don't eat an-"

"Dad! I'll be fine." I sighed, Kevin had invited me to his Frat houses New Years Eve party, and my dad was driving me.

"Okay, okay." He sighed as well, "it's just, it's a Frat party. People will be drunk, it'll be loud. I just want you to know."

"I do, I really like the guys there, they're all nice." I pointed out.

"I'm sure they're nice. It's just, be careful sweetie. I'll be back at 1:00 to pick you up." He added, pulling up in front of the large black house. It was crazy loud, and I pulled my phone out to text Kevin.

Abigail:
I'm here. Coming in.

"Be careful, have fun, Happy New Year." Lin leaned over and hugged me.

"Happy New Year." I smiled, and hugged him back.

I got out of the car, and walked into the house. I was wearing ripped jeans, a large loose sweater, and a scarf. I pushed the oak door open, and bit my lip a little, seeing the party. It was loud and dark, and music was blaring. I shut the door behind me.

"Abigail?!" I heard my name, and spun around to see Kevin running down from upstairs. "Hi sweetheart." He kissed my cheek, and slipped his arm around my waist.

"Hi." I smiled.

"Okay, lemme get you something to drink." He pulled me over to the kitchen.

"Um, nothing, nothing alco-" I started, then Kevin spun around holding a two liter of soda, which he was pouring into a red plastic cup.

"I know, Love." He laughed, "you're eighteen, and I'm only twenty."

"Thanks." I smiled, taking the cup, "my dad gave me the whole 'stay safe speech'."

"Well, that's important, be careful." He pulled me closer to him, and kissed my forehead.

"I will." I smiled, smelling his cologne.

"Okay, c'mon lemme introduce you to some people." He led me out into the common room, his arm around my waist still.

"Mmkay." I giggled a little.

"Okay, you remember Carson and Alec, right?" He asked, coming up to two other guys.

"Mmhm." I nodded, smiling.

"And you two remember my girlfriend, Abigail?" He clarified.

"Yep." Carson smiled.

"Mmhm, beautiful as always." Alec smiled.

"See, I told you they're nice and calm when they're not drunk." Kevin smiled at me, "take it in now." He whispered and I giggled.

"How long has this been going on now?" Carson asked, pointing to the two of us.

"9 months." I nodded.

"Wow. I didn't think Kevin could land a girl for a day, much less 9 months, blink twice if he's holding you against your will."

"No, actually he's really sweet." I smiled, looking up at Kevin, who kissed my head.

"Wow, cause, you know, I've seen him on game night, and he's... there's a whole other side to your boyfriend, sweetheart." Alec laughed.

"You have game night?" I laughed a little.

"Mmhm." Carson laughed.

"Yeah, I'm a beast at Yahtzee, and Poker." Kevin said, laughing.

About an hour later, the party was insanely loud, and busy, and I lost Kevin. I nervously looked around, then headed for the stairs. I was going to hide out in Kevin's room for a bit. Halfway up the stairs, another guy stopped me.

"Where do you think you're going, Princess?" He asked.

"Uh, I'm looking for my boyfriend, he's a brother here." I bit my lip, "Kevin Alvarez?"

"Oh! Yeah! He's in his room, c'mon." He took my hand and led me upstairs, he pushed one of the doors open, the one with a little sign reading, Kevin. It was dark in the room, as I walked in and I immediately realized something was wrong. I spun around and saw the guy toeing his shoes off and I ran back towards the doorway.

"Kevin! KEVIN! KEVIN HELP!" I screamed, as the guy wrapped his arms tightly around me, lifting me up.

"Shut up, Princess." He grunted, slamming the door behind him. He quickly pulled my scarf off, and pushed my sweater off of my shoulders.

"KEVIN!" I screamed again, as I was pushed onto my boyfriends bed, by a guy I didn't know. I felt him pull my tank top off, and I started to shake, going weak with fear.

"Abigail?!" I heard Kevin voice, "GET OFF OF HER!" He yelled, and I looked over to see Kevin in the doorway, and the guy stood up. Immediately I pulled my legs against my chest, hugging them there, self consciously. "GET OUT. GET OUT OF MY FREAKING HOUSE!" Kevin kept yelling at him, pushing him out of the room and down the stairs. He chucked the shoes he left by the door after him as well. "Baby? Baby, you okay?" He asked, his voice soft, as he came over to his bed, where I sat in a little ball.

"Mmhm." I nodded.

"Sweetie, you're shaking, honey..." he sighed, and pulled his Frat sweatshirt, reading Zeta Beta Tau, over his head, then pulled it over mine.

"Thanks." I mumbled.

"I'm so sorry, I really am." He gently kissed my head, "I'll call your dad, have him pick you up." He grabbed his cell phone from his pocket, and scrolled through his contacts.

"No, please don't." I whispered. "He's having a party at the apartment, I don't want to ruin his night, I'll stay."

"Mmkay." He rubbed circles into my arm. I sat there quietly for a few minutes, until he shifted me in his arms to hold me close to him.

We sat together on his bed for about twenty minutes, not talking. He occasionally kissed my head, but aside from me crying a little, we were silent.

"I love you." He whispered, breaking the silence.

"Hmm?" I looked up at him.

"You heard me, Bunny." He smiled, and kissed me.

"I love you too, Kev." I sighed.

"C'mon, I think someone made cupcakes, lets go." He scooped me into his arms as he stood up.

"Um, are they, are you sure it's just cupcake in those cupcakes?" I asked, as he pulled the door open, and started down the steps.

"Yes," he laughed, "firstly, we're not really known to be the druggie house, and secondly, I made the cupcakes." He added, setting me on the counter.

"Oh." I breathed, and he handed me a cupcake from a little tray in the fridge. "Thanks." I smiled.

"No problem, uh, are you, are you feeling better?" He asked, nervously.

"Yeah." I nodded, "it was just scary." I admitted.

"I get that, I know him too." Kevin said through his teeth.

"Oh." I sighed.

"He's from Pike, real piece of work, they all are."

"Pike?" I asked, wanting clarification.

"Oh! Uh, Pi Kappa Alpha." He nodded, "kinda your usual, stereotypical 'cool guy' frat. He's in my Contemporary American Lit course."

"Oh." I whispered.

"It's the only class we share, he's certainly not going into medicine. Listen baby," he changed the subject, "I'm really sorry, now, do you want to go back to the party or hide out in my room until your dad picks you up?"

"We can go back to the party." I smiled.

"Awesome. I won't let go of you." He promised, and kissed my head, then pulled me back into the loud common room.

We danced for a while, Kevin keeping a hold on my hand. Eventually I heard people start counting down to midnight.

"10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2!" As they reached two, my boyfriend latched his arm around the small of my back, and I felt him start to dip me a bit. 1! HAPPY NEW YEAR!" I heard people yell, and Kevin kissed me. I smiled, pushing back into the kiss. He eventually pulled away, leaving me slightly breathless, as he pulled me back up from the slight dip.

"Happy New Year, Bunny." He smiled.

"I- I'm not done." I mumbled, wrapping my arms around his neck, and pulling myself up onto his hips. I kissed him again, and he gently rubbed my back.

"Sweetheart, people are watching." Kevin mumbled as I kissed his neck.

"Oh." I flushed red, and climbed down off of him.

"That was nice, Love." He whispered.

"They're still watching." I whispered, looking around, and seeing a few other people, staring at us.

An hour later, my dad showed up, and by then most people had trickled out and left.

"Did you have fun, Peanut?" He asked, at the door.

"Yeah." I smiled.

"Good, now, my party is actually still going on, so, let's hurry back." He took my hand, and pulled me out of the house.

"Wait! Kev, your sweatshirt." I remembered I was wearing it.

"No, keep it, it's cute." He gently rubbed my arms, then kissed my head.

"Thanks." I smiled, and left.

Kevin's POV

We were about halfway through cleaning at 3:00. That's when I gave up. I slowly climbed upstairs, and pushed my door open. I fell onto my bed, when someone else walked in.

"What?" I mumbled, looking over to see Carson standing in my bedroom. I noticed him staring at Abigail's sweater, scarf, and tank top scattered around my small room.

"Okay, that makes sense now." He chuckled.

"What does?" I asked, sitting up.

"Oh, just, that's why she was screaming your name, and why the two of you were missing for twenty minutes." He smiled, sitting by me in bed, slapping my back a little.

"Oh! Actually, um, you know Jared Denton?" I asked.

"Yeah, why?"

"He uh, he tried to... apparently she was looking for me, and he cornered her, and..." I trailed off.

"Oh God, I knew he was trouble but... man, I'm sorry. She okay?"

"Mmhm." I nodded. "She's okay, a little shaken up, but overall, she's fine."

"Okay, I really... I... she's such a sweet girl."

"I know." I smiled a little.

"Well, tell her if I see Jared, I'll give him a piece of my mind." He stood up. "Good night, Happy New Year!" He gave me a quick smile, and I fell back into bed a fell asleep.
