Hunter (Part 2)
Kevin's POV
I had just gotten home for the day, I dropped my keys into the little dish by the door, when I saw Hunters head nuzzled into her boyfriends neck, they were snuggled up on the couch. I sighed a bit, I didn't like him, I don't think it was because he was dating my daughter necessarily, I mean, he just rubbed me the wrong way.
"Hey Mr. Alvarez." He smiled at me, as I walked by the couch, and I noticed that Hunter was sleeping. "Sorry, she conked out about fifteen minutes ago."
"Oh, it's fine, do you want something to drink?" I asked, putting my hand on my hip.
"Nah, I'm good." He held up one of our glasses with soda in it.
"Alright, oh! Baby girl." My gaze softened as I saw a bruise on Hunters cheek. I quickly walked over to the couch, and saw another on her jaw. "What happened? Did..." I trailed off, glaring at her boyfriend.
"Oh, no! Uh, she, she got into a fight."
"Really?" I asked, shocked, "Cupcake." I sighed.
"Uh, if she's not gonna wake up, I should, I should leave." He grabbed his backpack, and swung it on. "I'll see you later." He waved a bit, and left the apartment.
I sighed, and moved his soda, with ice, off of the wooden coffee table, onto the cloth runner, then carefully picked Hunter up. I looked at her sadly, and carried her into her bedroom. I set her on her unmade bed, and pulled the blankets over her. I left her room to grab an ice pack, and when I came back she was awake.
"Dad? You're home?" She asked. "Why the ice?"
"Oh, um, you, uh, Eric told me about the fight you got into at school." I shrugged, "are you okay? What happened?" I sat down on her grey bed.
"Huh? Oh, the bruises, yeah, I'm okay. Where is he?" She looked around her room quickly.
"Oh, he left. Hey, did you at least rough the other kid up?" I joked, lightly bumping her shoulder.
"No, I'm not really a fighter." She laughed, "did you expect me to? Look at my parents, I don't really have 'fighter' blood."
"Yeah you do." I sighed, "your mom's pretty tough. She's a fighter." I tousled Hunters hair. It looked like A's. I mean, Hunters hair was considerably darker, as she was half Hispanic, but it looked just the same when it fell in waves.
"Really?" Hunter laughed a little, "I'd like to see Mom in a fight."
"I'm not saying your mother ever sent anyone to the hospital, other then me when she hasn't had her coffee and I'm making too much noise getting ready at four and I accidentally wake her and she yells at me to go to work..." I trailed off after that run on digression, then went back on track. "What I'm saying Cupcake, is there are different kinds of fighting, and your mother is the toughest woman I know, other than maybe, her mother, who might fall into the other more physical category."
"Abuela?" Hunter asked, laughing.
"Yes." I laughed as well, "once when I was dating your mom, I got into a car accident on the way to pick her up, and I was a half hour late, and when I finally got there, I opened the door, and her mom quickly came over to me, pushed me out the apartment, and yelled at me about respect and respecting her daughter."
"Oh." Hunter was still laughing, and I smiled, she wasn't happy a lot. I blame Eric. Okay, that wasn't true, he's practically the only thing that makes my daughter smile now.
"I love you, kiddo." I laughed a bit, and kissed her head, "what do we want for dinner?" I asked, pulling her out of bed.
"I don't know." She shrugged.
"Grilled cheese and tomato soup it is." I announced, then heard the door swing open.
"Kev? Hunter? I'm home!" My wife's voice by the door brought a smile to my face.
"Hi baby! In the kitchen!" I called back to her. "Now, why don't you, my little cupcake, sit here?" I suggested and set my fifteen year old on the counter.
"Hi Kev, hi sweetie! How was your day?" Abigail asked, wrapping Hunter in a hug.
"Good." She sighed, resting her head on her mothers shoulder.
"Well..." I trailed off, "Huntie, do you want me to tell your mom about what happened, or do you want to tell her?"
"Huh? What happened? Sweetheart? Did you break up with Eric?"
"Why is that always the first thing you jump to?" Hunter looked at Abigail oddly.
"I don't know." She sighed, "but what happened?"
"I got into a fight." Hunter admitted, and stared at her lap.
"What?" My wife seemed shocked.
"Are you mad?" Hunter looked back up, sad.
"No, of course not, I'm sure it wasn't your fault." She gently rubbed our daughter's arm. "I'm sorry sweetie."
"It's fine. I'm fine."
"Okay, well now we're going to have dinner, no more sad stuff." I announced and tousled my little girl's hair.

Hunter's POV
About a month later, I was sitting at lunch, picking at a salad, and waiting for my boyfriend. His friends were seated around the table, though none of them spoke to me.
"Hey babe." I heard him, and I smiled a little, and scooted over to make room. "C'mon sweetie, I wanna show you something." He took my hand and pulled me up.
"Mmkay." I sighed, and followed him, leaving my backpack, and lunch at the table. He walked me up the stairs, finally pulling me into a janitors closet.
"Tada!" He smiled, and locked the door.
"What? What is this?" I asked, confused.
"It locks from the inside! None of these lock from the inside. Now, hurry up, only 28 minutes left of lunch." He started to pull his sweatshirt off, and I stood there stunned. "C'mon Hunter, oh, should I do it?" He asked, and pulled my jacket off.
"Eric, Eric stop." I said, as he started to pull up my shirt, "I don't know if I gave you the impression this was okay, but we're just kids, no."
"You're kidding." He stared at me oddly, "seriously babe, why do you think we're dating?"
"You... I... I really like you." I sighed, "I, uh, you're all that makes me happy, Eric."
"Don't worry, I'm not dumping you." He sighed, pulling his sweatshirt back on.
"Mmkay." I smiled, "I love you." I bit my lip, trying to catch his eye.
"Okay, okay, there you go." He bent down and kissed me, holding the small of my back, "happy?"
"Mmhm." I rocked back and forth on my heels.
"Okay, we can go back to lunch, and if anyone asks, we screwed in here." He grabbed my hand and pulled me out.
"What? Why would anyone ask?"
"Hunter, I'm a dude, all of my friends know what we were going upstairs to do."
"That's gross, do all guys do that? Talk about that?" I asked, walking alongside him.
"Yeah, duh." He shrugged, "I mean, you should get used to it, I mean, unless you'd rather end up with a girl." He laughed a little, and let his hand travel up and down my back. I bit my lip a little, thinking about what he said.
It's not that I wasn't out, I mean, my parents knew I was bi, and they were totally fine with it. I would tell anyone who asked, and it's not like I was trying to hide it, I just, maybe Eric didn't need to know. I rubbed my arm a little, upset.
"Wait a second, sweetie." Eric pushed his hands through my neatly straightened hair, ruffling it up.
"Eric, uh, why, uh, I don't think I want everyone thinking I had sex in a closet." I admitted, as he adjusted my jacket and shirt to be slightly messy looking.
"Why not?" He asked looking at me oddly. "Hunter you do realize you are on thin ice. I know you don't have anyone else. I know you need me so your whole life, everything, doesn't fall apart. You don't have friends, a life, you need me, so you should probably do exactly as I say, and don't screw this up for yourself." He grabbed my hand and pulled me into the cafeteria.
"Okay." I whispered a little, following him.
The two of us sat down at the table, and he did a little head nod at one of the guys, and another high fived him.
"How was she?" The guy sitting next to me asked, looking at Eric like I wasn't even there. Eric slipped his hand onto my thigh, and gently rubbed it. I leaned into my boyfriends side, and closed my eyes, trying to hide, trying to disappear.
