Abi/Kev - William
"Wake up, c'mon, wake up baby." I lolled my head a bit then opened my eyes. My husband was hovering over me, smiling.
"Morning." I mumbled.
"Yes, yes it is, now, get up." He started to scoop me up, by my back.
"I'm sleepy." I whined, sitting up.
"It's our first coinciding day off in forever." He whined as well.
"Mmkay, getting up." I announced.
"Yay." He smiled, climbing off of me.
I giggled a bit, and stood up from bed, I changed into a flowered sundress and a pink sweater.
"Coffee first?" He asked, taking both of my hands, and lightly swinging them.
"Yeah." I smiled.
"Can we walk? It's April." Kevin asked, shoving his wallet into his back pocket.
"Yeah." I nodded,
"Fantastic." He took my hand, and led me out of the apartment.

"Um, Ven-"
"Bunny, I will literally never forget your coffee order as long as I live, it was the first thing I learned about you." Kevin laughed a bit, before we walked inside the coffee shop. (T: my sweet lord, you're so cute) "Wait here, I'll be out in a minute."
I sat down at a little table outside and pulled my phone out.
"Abigail?" I looked up, and my jaw sort of dropped.
"William?" I asked, setting my phone down. "Oh... oh my gosh, hi." I smiled a little.
"Hi." He smiled back, and sat down, across from me.
"So.. um, how, how have you been?" I asked, smiling a bit.
"Good, getting better." He nodded, "and you? How's everything?"
"Really good actually." I laughed, "better than I expected."
"What are you doing? Like, where did you end up?"
"Theatre." I smiled, "I actually did it!"
"Like, professionally?" He asked, then I felt Kevin slip his arm around my front, from behind, and set my coffee on the table. He gently kissed my cheek and I smiled.
"Hi baby girl, who's this?" He asked.
"Oh, um, Kev, this is William, um we dated when I was a kid, and this, um, this is Kevin-"
"I'm her husband." He filled in for me, extending his left hand for William to shake.
"Oh! Um, hi, nice to meet you, um, I'm William Hoffman." He nodded a bit, and I saw his eyes drift down to the ring on my finger, and I quickly moved my hand onto my lap.
"Nice to meet you too." Kev smiled, and pulled a chair up next to mine. He wrapped his arm around my waist, as if staking a claim.
"So, um, how long has this been... when did you... um, Abigail?" He looked at me, "when did you two start dating?"
"My senior year." I smiled, "well, Kev was a Sophomore in college." I looked up at my husband.
"Oh, where did you go?"
"NYC." Kevin nodded, "well, then Columbia, so... a lot of college." He laughed a little, and rubbed my arm.
"Columbia? What for?"
"Medicine." Kevin smiled, proud of that.
"Oh!" William seemed surprised. "I never thought she'd go for someone sciencey, more like someone artsy."
"Well..." Kevin trailed off, and rubbed the dip in my waist. "So, what line of wo-" Kevin was cut off by a little girl standing next to me.
"Hi, um, my name's Melissa, and, um, ca-" she hiccuped a little, "can you sign my shirt?" She asked, and I smiled, she was wearing a Bonnie and Clyde t-shirt. It was too big, and the front was tucked into her jeans.
"Of course I can, Melissa!" I smiled and patted my lap, implying she should sit on my lap. "Kev? Can I have the sharpie in my purse?" I asked, and a couple seconds later my husband handed me the pen I always kept handy, a lesson I learned from my father. I quickly autographed her t-shirt. "Do you want a picture?" I asked.
"Really?" She lit up a bit, nodding fervently.
"Mmhm." I smiled, "can your mom take it?" I asked, looking at the woman, I assume was her mother, who had her phone out, and had apparently been taking pictures the whole time. "Okay, smile." I said to the small girl on my lap, and I wrapped my arms around her in a hug. "Have a good day, Melissa." I said, as she hopped off of my lap.
"Thank you!" She squealed, and hurried away with her mom.
"Sorry about that." I sighed, turning back to my conversation, "she was adorable."
"What... who... what did you say your job was?" William asked.
"Actress." I smiled, "I'm in Bonnie and Clyde, I play Bonnie Parker. It's at the Neil Simon."
"Oh." He seemed surprised.
"Yeah... I made it." I pulled my phone out, and flipped through my camera roll, landing on a picture of Josh and I in costume. I handed the phone to him, and he looked at it oddly.
"Well, um, congrats." He shrugged, and handed me my phone back.
"Thanks." I smiled, putting it back in my purse.
"So, A and I should be going." Kevin decided, standing up, holding my hand.
"Would you like to come over for dinner? Tomorrow night?" I asked, turning back towards my ex boyfriend.
"Oh! Um, sure." He smiled at me.
"Awesome, uh, one sec." I grabbed a piece of paper and my sharpie from my bag, and jotted down our address. "7:00?" I asked.
"Yeah." He nodded, "that's great."
"Mmkay, uh, see you then." I shrugged.
"See you then." He smiled at me, "and Kevin, it was nice meeting you."
"Likewise." My husband said, "see you tomorrow. C'mon Bunny, bookstore?" He suggested, as we were walking away.
"Mmhm." I nodded, then let my head rest in the crook of his neck.
"I love you." He whispered.
"Love you too." I smiled, and moved my head to kiss his jaw.

"I can't believe you invited your ex over for dinner." Kevin laughed a bit, the next night, as we were setting the table.
"What!" I laughed as well, "he's a nice guy."
"I'm sure he is, I mean, you let him date you." Kevin added, setting a bottle of sparkling cider on the table.
"You know, I met him right around the same time I met my dad." I recalled,
"Oh! Is that when you started dating?" He asked.
"Sorta, a little while after."
"Hmm, cool." Kevin smiled at me, "you look so pretty, baby." He sighed, and held my waist.
"Oh!" I giggled, and Kev started to sway me around the adjoined dining room/kitchen/living room.
"How 'bout a dance?" He started to sing lightly, "let's make a start, music like this, can really-" I cut him off, by kissing him.
"I love you, but I hear that song every day." I laughed.
"Love, that's our wedding song, you're not allowed to get tired of it."
"Mmkay." I smiled, and let my head rest on his chest, as he continued to softly hum it.
We were drawn out of our trance by someone knocking on the door. I smiled, pulling away from my husbands embrace and pulled the front door open, to see William standing there, awkwardly holding flowers.
"Hey, A." He smiled a little, "um, these are for you." He handed me the bouquet.
"Oh! Thank you so much! Come in, come in!" I stepped away from the doorway, so he could walk through.
"Your house is so beautiful." He said, looking around the open space.
"Thanks, I'm gonna go put these in water." I said, and went back into the kitchen, fumbling around, looking for a vase.
"So, what line of work are you in?" I heard Kevin ask.
"I, um, I'm an accountant." He replied.
"Cool." I heard Kevin say, and I bit my lip nervously, filling a vase with water. I wanted them to get along.
"So, um, when did the two of you get married?"
"October of 2024." He said, and I walked back into the room, to see both of them still standing by the door.
"So, a year and a half-ish?" William clarified.
"Mmhm." I nodded, "do the two of you want to eat? Or are we good just talking by the open door?" I asked, then pushed the door shut.
"Oh, sure, dinner." William nodded.
"Awesome." I laughed a little, and took Kevin's hand pulling him over to our small table.
Kevin had made Pastelón for dinner, which was growing to be one of my favorite foods. He said it was a family recipe and his mom used to make it all the time.
"Abi?" William looked up from his food, "this is really good." He smiled.
"Oh, um, actually, I don't cook." I laughed a little, "uh, Kev made it."
"Yeah, Bunny's a terrible cook." Kevin laughed, "but thank you. A, do you want to tell him about that time you screwed up making Mac and cheese out of a box?"
"No." I mumbled, taking a bite.
"I was out of the country for a family thing, and she just texts me this picture of a pot of like... cheese, water, and milk." He laughed a bit.
"I'm sorry!" I laughed, "I wasn't thinking straight, and I was tired, I'm not used to cooking for myself."
"Wait, why were you out of the country?" William circled around to that.
"Um, I was in Puerto Rico for a funeral." He explained, "my mom's side of the family is Puerto Rican."
"Oh." William chuckled a little.
"What's funny about that?" I asked, confused.
"Roonie, he's a mix of your mom and dad!" William laughed a little more, "sciencey and smart like your mom, and Puerto Rican like your dad. You married your parents! That's why you fell for him."
"Oh, um, uh, my mom's not a doctor, he doesn't really look like my dad, he's nothing like my parents." I was a little confused.
"C'mon, seriously, you married him because you felt like you were leaving your parents for another version of them."
"No, I married him because I love him." I said, a little uncomfortable, "he... he was always a nice guy, and we got along, and he was funny, and sweet, and..." I trailed off, upset.
"Bunny? Bunny you okay?" Kevin asked gently rubbing my knee.
"Mmhm." I nodded.
"Mmkay, well, I'm gonna go grab pie I made for dessert." He announced standing up, "I love you, baby." He whispered, almost silently.
"Listen Abigail, I'm sorry." William sighed, "I... life has been crap, and... I'm sorry."
"It's fine, it's fine." I smiled.
"Okay, I'm glad you're happy." He smiled. "I'm glad you found someone."
"Thank you." I smiled back, and Kevin walked out of the kitchen with a banana cream pie. "Oh! Thank you Kevie!" I smiled, looking up at him, as he set it down.
"Of course." He leaned down and kissed me.

William left a little while later, and Kevin had pulled me into bed.
"I love you baby." He sighed, pulling me to sorta sit on his lap.
"Huh? I love you too." I smiled.
"You... um, William, you don't still have feelings for him do you?"
"No, of course not, Kev, we dated for a few months when I was fifteen years old. I'm serious, no."
"Just, he was your first boyfriend, wasn't he?"
"Mmhm." I nodded, "Kevin, we dated for like four months, I was fifteen, he went kind of crazy after we broke up, I was happy to see him with his life together."
"Woah, what do you mean?"
"Um, his mom died around the time we broke up, his dad became kinda distant and stopped functioning well, and Will, well, William started drinking, and he went off the rails, when I came back to America during my senior year he... he changed. He wasn't sweet anymore, he was kinda a... he kinda, he was just different." I admitted. "I felt bad about leaving him after he fell apart, but I couldn't be around the drinking."
"Oh. I'm sorry, Love." Kevin rubbed my shoulder.
"No, it's okay, I just wanted to make sure he was okay again. Also, Kevin, we've been together for almost eight years, I love you." I slipped my arms around him, and kissed him. "I love you more than anything."
"Mmkay, well, does that mean I can do this?" He asked, picking me up and setting me down on the bed. He crawled on top of me, and kissed me, smirking a bit.
"Uh huh." I giggled, pushing my hands through his hair.
"Fantastic, because I really want to do this." He smiled, and wrapped my thighs around his waist, holding me up, close to him.
