Brandon's POV

"Is it just me or did I hear...sirens go off last night?" Andrew asked me as I was making coffee in the hotel room. I shrugged, thinking nothing of it.

"Has anyone seen Stephanie lately?" Betsy asked, walking up to us. I shrugged again and said, "Maybe she went out early today."

"That being said...where's Josie?" Tracie asked. I looked around before noticing a piece of paper on the counter.

"'Josie has a bad stomachache/migraine, going to the hospital to get her checked out. I'll text with her room if she's admitted. ~Steph'" I read.

"PARDON ME WHAT?" Andrew said, and everyone else started clamoring.

"GUYS! GUYS! CALM DOWN! STEPHANIE TEXTED LAST NIGHT!" Christian screamed. We all shut up and paid attention to Christian. "And Josie has appendicitis. She went into surgery two hours ago."

"And no one bothered to tell any of us?" I said.

"She texted at 4 in the morning."

"Whatever. Come on, let's go."

We all walked into a hospital room and saw Josie sitting upright in a hospital bed. And Stephanie on a chair next to her, exhausted with her eyes half-closed.

"Hey Jo-Jo!" I said to Josie, giving her a gentle hug. "How are you?" Josie giggled and said, "Good, but shh, Mama's sleeping."

"What! No, I'm awake!" Stephanie said groggily. I laughed and said, "How long have you been up?"

"We've both been up since 3AM, but I wasn't the one under anesthesia for two hours." Stephanie said. Josie giggled and then fixated her eyes on the cartoons playing on the TV.

"Josie's supposed to be discharged tonight or tomorrow morning from what I've heard." Stephanie said. "She needs to take it easy for a few days but then she can do whatever. We're leaving here in five days anyway." I nodded and I noticed Josie look down at her arm. She pointed to the IV and said, "Mama, what's this?"

Stephanie giggled and walked over to Josie and sat next to her. "Josie, this is an IV. It gives medicine and water to your body in case you need it. Isn't that cool?" Josie nodded and then laid down on Stephanie's chest.

"Awww." I said. Josie smiled sweetly at me and closed her eyes, and Stephanie kissed the top of Josie's head.

Ten minutes later, both Stephanie and Josie were asleep.

The next day, Josie was discharged from the hospital and she was going to be back in the hotel room any minute.

The door opened and then Stephanie walked in with Josie in her arms. Josie looked absolutely exhausted. Stephanie put Josie down on the couch and she was trying her best to keep her eyes open.

"Hey Jay." Anthony said softly, waving. "How are you feeling?"

"Kinda sick and tired." Josie said groggily. I smiled at Josie and ruffled her hair a bit. Josie groaned and then we all sat on the couch with her.

Josie laid her head in my lap and put her legs in Andrew's lap. Stephanie giggled and said, "If she does fall asleep, Andrew, watch out. She kicks a lot in her sleep and will probably kick you in the stomach."

Josie giggled and then closed her eyes. I mindlessly stroked her hair as Tracie put on a movie and turned the volume down as to not wake Josie.

I smiled as Josie drifted off to sleep in my lap.

"Sweet dreams, Jo-Jo."

Josie's POV

I woke up to my phone vibrating noisily. I groaned and picked it up off of the coffee table and realized Harper was calling me.

"Hold on, Harper's calling me, I'm gonna go in the other room and take this." I said. Stephanie said, "Alright baby, we'll be here watching a movie when you're done."

Just like the first out of the blue call I got from Harper, which was when I found out Amethyst was cheating, halfway through the call I found myself on the floor sobbing and hyperventilating.

"Josie? Everything okay?" Christian asked from behind the door. I sniffled and said, "Yeah..." after hanging up.

I opened the door and couldn't contain my tears any longer. I fell into Christian and then he led me back out to the living room.

"Josie, what's going on? Is everything okay?"

I took a deep breath. Moment of truth.

"Harper's dying." I said before bursting into tears.
