Chapter 25

Josie's POV

It was about a week after the whole Samantha incident, and it was pretty early in the morning. I had a nightmare about Samantha last night, but I didn't want to wake my mom up, so I fought it on my own.

"Good morning, sleepyhead!" Stephanie said, coming into my room. I smiled and said, "Morning, Mama."

Stephanie sat on my bed with a wide smile on her face. "Josie, there's something I need to talk to you about."

Uh oh. I know this wording. It was the same wording Stephanie used when she told me I was being forced back into Samantha's care. And we all know how that ended up.

"Is it bad news?" I said, tears lining my eyes. Stephanie realized what I meant and gasped. "No! Not at all, sweetie pie, don't worry! In fact...it's anything but bad."

"What do you mean?" I whispered.

"Oh, Josie." Stephanie said, wrapping me in a huge hug. "I know these past few weeks have been traumatizing, and I can't even imagine what it was like for you. But...because we all need a break, like really need a break, we're going on a family vacation to Europe for two weeks!"

I screamed in pure joy.

"MAMA ARE YOU SERIOUS? THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU MAMA WHEN ARE WE LEAVING?" I screeched.

Stephanie laughed a little. "Woah, Josie, calm down! We leave tomorrow, it's a pretty early flight so get some good sleep tonight, okay?"

"Okay, Mama!"

________

"I'm tired." Andrew complained.

"I'm bored." Brandon responded.

"I'm sick of standing in line." Andrew said again.

"I'm hungry." Brandon whined.

"Andrew and Brandon, stop acting like children. Anthony and Josie are behaving better than you." Stephanie said.

"Josie's half asleep." Andrew said. And he was right. I was in Stephanie's arms and was about to fall asleep on her shoulder. Christian was the one carrying my suitcase and carry-on.

"Josie, you know you're gonna have to let go of me when we get to security, right?" Stephanie asked. I nodded sleepily and then Andrew got us all our boarding passes.

"It's a ten hour flight. Nonstop." Brandon said.

"Great, I can sleep. It's four in the morning." Tracie whined.

"Come on guys, let's go to security."

______

The security check wasn't even that bad, but then before I knew it we were boarding the plane.

I was in the middle seat between Stephanie and Andrew. Across the aisle were Tracie, Anthony, and Brandon, in that order. And behind us were Christian and Betsy, with bags between them.

"I think Josie wants the window seat, Steph." Andrew said, laughing.

"Not really, I just want to see the plane take off. I've never been on a plane before. Ever." I said. "As soon as this thing takes off, I'm going to sleep. I'm tired."

"That's probably a good idea. It's a six-hour time difference when we get there anyway. It'll be about...10 in the morning there when we land, but it will feel like 4 in the morning here."

"Oh." I said. And then the plane roared down the runway, and fast. I didn't know what was happening and gripped the armrests for dear life.

"What's going on?" I questioned. Stephanie laughed.

"Baby, the plane's just taxiing. It's okay." Stephanie said, ruffling my hair. And then the plane soared into the sky and I gasped.

"Mama, look! The city from up high!" I said.

"It's cool, isn't it?" Stephanie said. She then shut the window shade and gently laid my head on her shoulder. "It's best to go to sleep now so your body can adjust, okay? Sweet dreams, baby girl."

"Night Mama."

______

"Josie. Josie. Josephine. JOSEPHINE TRINA BLOCK WAKE UP!"

"What?" I whined, sitting up and sleepily rubbing my eyes. Stephanie laughed and said, "Good morning, sweetie. You drooled all over my shirt."

"We're here!" Anthony cheered.

"YAY!" Brandon and I cheered at the same time as everyone stood up to disembark the plane.

We got off the plane and Stephanie tried to make her way to baggage claim. I was skipping around the airport and giggling, I was so excited to be here.

"Someone's a bit more awake." Christian said. I laughed and then we reached baggage claim.

"The airport's super hot." Andrew whined.

"I bet outside is even hotter." Tracie said.

"That's why I have a short sleeved shirt under this thing." I said, tugging on my Falsettos sweatshirt.

Soon, we saw our bags and ran to get them. And then we headed to the rental car station so we could rent a minivan. We were directed to our rental car and Stephanie loaded the bags in the back of the car.

I took off my sweatshirt and I heard giggling. Stephanie turned around and gasped.

"Josephine Trina Block, what are you wearing?" Stephanie asked sternly.

I looked down at the tie dye crop top that I was wearing. "What? I'm hot!"

"Where did you get that crop top?" Stephanie asked.

"Andrew gave it to me!"

"Liar! Well, actually, yeah. She's right." Andrew said.

"Andrew Rannells, she's ten years old! Whatever. Josie, when we get to the hotel you're changing into a more modest shirt." Stephanie said.

"Fine!" I said, getting in the car.

______

"This hotel room is nice." Anthony said. We had gotten two connecting hotel rooms, one for the girls and one for the boys, each room having two bedrooms, a sofa bed, a kitchen, and two balconies.

"I'm back!" Brandon said, bursting into the room. "I went to the convenience store and got us some sushi!"

"SUSHI!" we all cheered at the same time. I smiled and then I turned to Stephanie.

"Thanks for taking me here, Mama."

"You're welcome, baby. Now let's have the best two weeks of our lives."

AN: Something evil was supposed to happen this chapter, but today I was feeling nice. Y'all are lucky. Hope you enjoyed and catch ya later!
