Saved By Fangirls

I waved goodbye to New Politics after they gave me their number to keep in touch. I turned and Brendon picked me up and spun me around saying he'd miss his marshmallow. I giggled, remembering the times in tour when we were bored and I'd magically appear and throw marshmallows at them. From that day on, Brendon had nicknamed me marshmallow. I gave Dallon and Spencer a hug as they entered their car.

"Let's go, Cora," Patrick said. I turned and got in the car. I was expecting the goodbye stage to go emotional, but thank god I didn't break down in tears cause that'd be embarrassing. Pete was in the front seat with Patrick, and I sat in between Joe and Andy. Tyson was on the floor in his cage. "I'd say our tour was successful," Andy said. I nodded.

"More that successful, it was great!" Patrick said smiling. "Aahhh, shshhhh," Joe said. He had a hangover. "Yeah, Patrick. Take in consideration our feelings. And headaches," Pete said.

In the airport, I gave Tyson a kiss on the nose before they took him away. "You really like him, don't you?" Patrick asked with a half smile. "Sure do." He smiled, his hand on my head.

In the airplane, Pete and Joe slept. Andy read a comic, I read one too, and Patrick read Divergent, under my recommendation. When we got out, I hugged all the guys. "I'm going to miss you, Joe," I said as I clung to his neck. "You too, Princess. Take care," he got into his car and drove off.  I hugged Andy, "Bye, Andy, gonna miss you. I finished the series you gave me, great stuff." He smiled and said, "Glad you liked it. Bye," and left with a wave. "Ppeettteee, my man!" I yelled on purpose to make him cringe. "Aahhhh. Cora, I love you, but sometimes you can be a pain in the ass." I stretched out my arms for the hug. "Hey, it's what I do." With a hug, and small handshake with Patrick, he left.

"To our home!" Patrick said, raising his fist to the air, and hoping into the front seat. "Yeah!" I jumped in the seat next to him, and Tyson barked. "Woo! Tyson wants to get home too, let's go! " We drove out of the airport parking and into the streets. I hummed along to Thrift Shop and said, "You know, Patrick, you should make a hip hop song. Like, the mighty fall was rappish because of Big Sean but seriously, you ever think of rapping?" He laughed. "Cora, I don't think my voice is made for rapping." I shrugged. "Please, you should try." Patrick tried rapping, "I'm gonna pop some tags, only got $20 in my pockets." I giggled. "Not bad. Give you a 87 out of 100." "Yes!"

After a few minutes of music playing I said, "So when am I going back to school?" "Well, we need to get you some supplies and clothes. So . . . I give it five days and then you're back in school." I groaned and asked, "Can't I just be homeschooled or something? No need for human interaction. " Patrick shook his head. "Cora, you did human interaction all this summer. I don't think you should fear that anymore. " "Well, not as much. But still, I get nervous and  I bit scared. Like, what do I say? How do I act?" "Like yourself. You just have to act like yourself." "How is that?" Patrick laughed. "Cora! I'm trying to help you here." "Right, right. Continue. "

"You introduce yourself at school so you can make friends," Patrick said. "Just act like your talking to one of the guys. Be you, and be nice."

"Swigity Swag, I'm Cora Stump," I said. "Food. Music. #Yolo."

Patrick took a deep breath. "Okay. Also, act positive. If someone invites you to lunch with them, say yes. Act nice."

"But what if they're serving, like, terrible cafeteria food?"

"You still go."

"But-"

"You still go."

"But wh-"

"Moving on. Remember, be on time for all your classes. If you need help locating any class, or have any question in the classes, ask anyone."

"Can I ask the cute emo kid in the back of the room? Or like, walk through the hallways and trip and hope a cute guy picks me up and shows me everywhere?"

Patrick stared foward, his hand slightly covering his face, and he had a I'm so done with you face. I laughed. "You're kidding right?" Patrick asked hopeful. "Yeah," I said sarcastically.

We arrived at the house. It was still beautiful and I suddenly remembered my shy self arriving it the first time. I mean, I was still shy at the time. But, slightly less shy from orphanage me. I grabbed my suitcase and Tyson from the back seat and attached his leash. "Come on, boy," I said sweetly.

We entered the house and I stepped into the familiar living room. The couches were still the same as before and so was the kitchen. I crashed on the couch and said, "Patrick, this couch is life." He nodded as he also crashed on it. "We need to unpack." "We can do it later," I whined. Patrick smiled and said, "Cora it's 7 pm. I'd prefer to get this done now, not later when I need to sleep." I sighed, and said, "Okay."

We stood up and then Patrick stopped and hit his head, "Shoot, you don't have a room yet. Uh, I need to buy you some furniture. I can order it right now online and . . . "He mumbled something and free shipping. (A/N: I can do that.) I stared at him, unsure of what to do in this situation.

After a few minutes he said, "Okay. You can sleep in my bed with me.I need to go order some furniture," he said heading upstairs. I blinked and took out my phone. I haven't talking to Logan or Jessica in a while. Let's see what they're up to.

Cora: Hello, Logan.

Logan: Hey Cora.

Cora: Punctuation, Logan.

Logan: oh sorry i forget wat to do with letter?

Cora: I just cringed, don't ever do that again.

Logan: 'do wat again.'

Cora: I, uh, please. Stop. No.

Logan: Okay, what's up?

Cora: I'm starting school in five days, don't have a room, and just got back from tour. Chicago, bitch.

Logan: Aw, I want to go to Chicago.

Cora: Don't they do that trip for the 15 yr olds where they take them to a state?

Logan: I am offended! What makes you think I'll be here when I'm 15!?

Cora: OMG, IM SORRY! I DIDNT MEAN IT LIKE THAT!! IM SURE YOU'LL GET ADOPTED BEFORE THEN!

Logan: Cora . . . I was kidding.

Cora: You lil shit.

Logan: Haha! It's so easy to make you fall for it though.

Cora: Shaddup.

Logan: No. You shut up.

Cora: This is stressful.

Logan: No, this is Patrick.

Cora: No, that's my Dad.

Logan: No, this is Sempiternal.

Cora: You did not.

Logan: I did.

Cora: Oh, God, Logan.

Logan: I thought you liked BMTH

Cora: I do, but, I didn't knew you knew about them!

Logan: I didn't. Jessica has had a "break down" and is loading me with band facts.

Cora: 'Break down?'

Logan: She misses her little companion and is using me to fix the hole you left.

Cora: Sucker.

Logan: Fuck you.

Cora: Rude.

Logan: I gotta go. Bye.

~~~~~~
Cora: Jessica!
Jessica: Cora!!!!! I've missed you so much!! How are you???
Cora: Good, just got back from tour.
Jessica: Cool, how'd it go?
Cora: Don't want to get into too much detail. But pretty much, IT WAS AWESOME.
Jessica: Even without your homie??? DX
Cora: No . . . I miss my homie.
Jessica: I miss my small dude.
Cora: I'm not that small . . .
Jessica: You are that small!!
Cora: Not even! I'm like 4 inches shorter!
Jessica: What?? You grew!!?
Cora: I can't. I'm sorry, I just can't deal with you.
Jessica: But you love me.
Cora: Yeah, I do.
Jessica: Aww! Me and my homie!
Cora: Just you and me pal.
Cora: Well, sadly, I have to go. Patrick is calling me, so bye.
Jessica: Bbyyee.
I left the phone on the couch and ran upstairs. "What do you need, Padre?" I asked, leaning on the doorway. Patrick stared at his computer and said, "What color blankets would you like? Also, are you going to need a bookshelf? Queen or Twin?" I thought for a moment and answered, "Green, yes, Queen."
I watched as he went on three different sites, ordering things, and I said, "Do you want me to unpack for you?" "Uh, huh? Oh . . . Yeah." He looked tired. I grabbed his suitcase and started unpacking, folding some shirts and putting them in drawers and stuffing some shoes in the closet. But, when I first saw his closet, I was marveled by all the clothes. So many diffrent styles were in it. Not only his, but Elisa's too. Dresses, purses, t-shirts, you name it, it was there.
I slept in his bed that naight with him. Then the next day, my furniture came. My room was located at the end of the hall, two doors down from Patrick's. I had my queen size bed in the middle, book shelf in the corner next to the window, a desk next to the bookshelf. Also, Patrick let me shop online for decorations for my room and school clothes. So, after a quick visit to Hot Topic. Com and Hollister I was good to go for school clothes.
I was pretty happy with how my room came out. Posters of bands and fandoms hung on my walls. A Castiel plush doll sat on the desk. A cool snow globe that had Los Angeles city in it was located on my book shelf. The books shelf had two sections, books and comics, and they were in alphabetical order. Patrick allowed Tyson to stay in my room, so in his corner of the room was his bed and toys and bowl.
Then on Friday, we went to my school. Patrick filled out paper work and I sat nervously on a chair waiting for him to finish. As I waited, a lady said, "Candace, can you show Cora, that girl siting on the chair over there, the school? Here's her schedule, show her where her classes are located. " A girl with red hair looked up from some papers. She wasn't an adult, she was like my age. She sighed, picking up my schedule and her things and stuffing them, except my schedule, in her backpack. "C'mon," she said leaving the office. I stood up and followed her out.
"It's cool if you get lost, just ask one of the securities and they'll show you to your classes," she said looking at my schedule. The campus was made of seven buildings. The first was A hall, the second was B hall, the third was C hall, the fourth was D hall, the fifth was the office that was also the nurse and counseler's office, the sixth was the Auditorium, and the seventh was the gym.
We walked to the north side of the school where A hall was. We entered the one floor building, well they were all one floor buildings, and she showed me my first class, science. "A-3, Mr. Brown. " Luckily, the gym was right next A hall, and Physical Education was my next class. The kids were outside running on the track. "Just report to Mrs. Anderson," she pointed to a tall woman with brown curls and green eyes, "and she'll sell you your P.E. clothes. The locker room for girls is over there."
Math was my next class, in C-6 (south of the school) with Mrs. Calister. Computers was my next class, Mr. Turner in B-18 (west of the school). My last class was Mr. Richardson, language art and social studies in A-7. The red headed girl said, "The cafeteria is next to A hall by the way." I nodded. She guided me back to the office. "Um, just fyi, Mr. Brown's strict. Oh, and Mrs. Anderson's doesn't like being called teacher or Mrs. Always, Mrs, Anderson, got it?" I nodded.
Patrick was done with the paper work and we left. "Monday I have to go. Monday. I don't want to. How about you break my arms and legs so I can postpone it? Like, oh no, these guitars fell on me, oh and so did these drums, oh no I can't feel my legs."  Patrick rolled his eyes and started the car. "You have the weekend to call your nerves."
And soon enough, Monday came. I was woken up by my alarm clock playing American Idiot. I cried and got out of bed and walked out to the bathroom to take a shower. Sadly, my room didn't have a bathroom, like the other house. I showered in warm water and then headed to my room. I changed into a black shirt that said Meowday Purrrade with a purple kitty and the black ripped jeans I got for my birthday, the one with the chains. But I took off the chains, I didn't want to seem too emo. The common misconception with me was that people thought I was emo in the orphanage. I was not emo. I didn't really understand why they thought I was emo, but they did.
I made my way downstairs and Patrick was in the in the kitchen. "Pancakes!" Patrick said happily. I sat down and Patrick handed me a plate with pancakes. I ate them sadly and Patrick said, "C'mon, Cora, don't be sad. It'll be okay." I mumbled, "Okay." Tyson came in and jumped on my lap. "Ow, you're heavy," I said pushing him off.
He barked at me for pushing him off. "Sorry, pal." I drank orange juice and Patrick said, "You're ready?" "Nope. Let's go." I grabbed my backpack which was a simple red jansport backpack.
"Bye, Tyson!" I said as I walked out of the house. He tried to come with us, but Patrick closed the door in time. "Okay, time to go to school!" Patrick said happily entering the car. I sighed and looked at the time. 7:42 am. School started at 7:55. I was guessing at the time, but the teachers didn't exactly get there on time.
"Hey, relax. Okay, school is terrible. I know. But, you might find some friends. And then it won't be so bad, right?" Patrick said looking at me and then back at the road. "I guess. But it's rwo months into the year. It won't be easy to make friends. " Patrick stared straight ahead, without saying a word. We parked in front of the school. 7:50. "Look, just have fun, okay? Six hours and that's all. " He smiled reassuringly and I smiled back, butterflies filling my stomach. "Okay, I'm gonna go now."
He kissed my forhead and I smiled. I got put of the car, entering through the east entrance. So many kids were walking around and some of them were looking at me. I took a left at the office and towards A hall. My eyes were getting watety, which happened when I was nervous in public.
I blinked as I entered the hall. Step, step, step, step, stop. A-3. There was a line of kids outside the door, which was closed. The bell rang. I had a note that I was supposed to give to the teachers and have them sign.
I walked to the end of the line. Some kids looked at me, and others didn't even realize I was there. I wasn't sure which was better, being ignored or being in the spotlight.
A man with a big bushy brown mustache opened the door. "Come in, come in, silence." As the kids entered, I panicked. Do I show him outside, or do I enter and stand akwardly waiting to show him the note? I entered and stood off to the side. Mr. Brown entered and I handed him the note. "Okay, class! We have a new student. Cora. You can go sit next to . . . " he scanned the room looking for an empty seat. A hand went up. A girl said, "There's an empty seat next to me." And there was. "You can go sit next to Angelina, over there."
I nodded and sat next to her in the back of the room. The girl stared at me intently. She had brown hair that fell to her shoulders and green eyes. She wore a doctor who shirt. Approved, I liked her.
Mr. Brown stared talking about fractions and how to use them. I knew that. He said it was a review of last year. "Okay, turn to page 45 of your text book." Shit I don't have one.
"You don't have one, do you, Cora?" I shook my head. "Do you know where the library is?" I shook my head again.  "Who wants to take Cora to the library to get her books?" My heart skipped a beat when two hands went up. Angelina's and a cute guy's. "Angelina." She smiled at me and stood up, I stood up with her.
We left the quiet room and into the even quieter hallway. "Um, thanks for uh-" "No problem. Now, I have one question to ask you and please don't get mad or upset. But are you Cora Stump?" I was taken back. I blinked, "Yeah. That's my name." She squealed. "Yay, Cora Stump is in my class. Do you know anyone?" I shook my head.
She smiled even bigger. "Well my name is Angelina Brooks, nice to meet you, Cora Stump," she said extending her hand for a handshake. I smiled and shook her hand. "Pleasure to meet you Angelina." "Okay, show me your schedule," we were outside of A hall now. "Great! All the same classes! Woo!" She smiled like a dork. I liked her. "So, you're a doctor who fan?" "Is the Tardis blue?" I giggled. "Ah, fandom jokes. They're the best." Apparently the library was right next to B hall.
The librarian, Tom, checked me out all the books necessary. Angelina helped me carry the math and handbook while I carried the science, social studies, and language arts book. Next to her, I was tall. Maybe an inch taller. "I can't believe Jamie didn't recognize you." "Jamie?" "I'll introduce you to her in P.E." I nodded. When we got back, it was time to go and I stuffed my books in the bag. They didn't fit and I had to carry around a language art and math book.
In gym, I reported to Mrs. Anderson. I was handed blue shorts and a grey t-shirt with the school name and mascot, fox, on it. I hurried to the girl's locker room with Mrs. Anderson and she walked me to the locker room. Luckily Suzan Taylor moved a week ago and I was left her locker, right next to my classmates.
112. That was my locker number. I opened the lock I was given and changed quickly changed. Once I was done, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around, slightly nervoused, and saw a girl with deep deep blue eyes. She stared at me happily and said, "It is her! I mean, hey I'm Jaime." I smiled.
"Oh hey, I'm Cora. " Someone put their arm around me and I turned to see Angelina. "Sup, moose." She said. "Is it cause I have fabulous hair like Sam?" I ask. She laughed. "Hell yeah, can I be squirrel?" Angelina said laughing. "Oh, and I can be Castiel?" Jamie asked, smiling big. "Well you do have his eye," I said giggling. "Girls! Hurry it up!" We walked out laughing, making supernatural jokes.
We had to run a lap, and then played basketball. Sadly, I sucked. At everything. Physical Education was not my best subject.
After, it was nutrition,  recess, break, whatever you call it. I stuck with Angelina and Jamie. "Hey," I said  kinda unsure if they'd let me hang out with them or not. "Hey, Cora!" Jamie hugged. I smiled. Someone put a hat on me. "Shhh, we have to hide you. The emos might find you, and then we wouldn't have you to ourselves." I laughed and took off the hat. "Please, I can fend for myself. I developed muscle during tour," I said flexing my arm. There was no muscle on it to be honest, just fat. We laughed.
We walked to C hall and stood outside. "So, Cora, tell us, what are your fandoms?" Jamie said wiggling her eyebrows. "Percy Jackson, Divergent, Maze Runner, Hunger Games, Supernatural, and most bands." She nodded with a smile. "Beautiful. Our little fangril." I chuckled. "I'm little," I said in a squeaky voice.
Math class came and left and I tried to learn the name of people in the class. Heather was the loud one, the one who complained about everything. She wore shorts even though it was freaking cold. And there was Dominic, a boy who decided to slouch and sleep in class. But there was also Tim who knew the answer to every question. And sadly, there were cute guys in my class. Three. Two were the popular guys who I vowed not to fall for because populars party and break rules. But the other guy, I didn't know who he was. But, I decided to ignore his cuteness.
Then computers came, and most of my butterflies flew away. I was assigned laptop #34 and I started working on an assignment. Pretty cool to be honest, I was supposed to make a collage of whatever I wanted.
Lunch came around and I was thankful that Jamie and Angelina also ate lunch cause I am a hungry motherfucker. "I swear, what is this?" Angelina said poking at her food. "It's salad," Jamie said slowly. "I know what salad is, but look! It's already got spots!" I looked at the salad. "Yeah, you might want to eat around that." A guy sat in front of us. "Jamie, you can't tell Mom," he said his voice cracking. "No, you puberty dork." He cleared hsi throat. "Please. I'll give you $10." "I'm not desperate," she said taking a bite out of her chicken nugget. He turned to Angelina, but did a double take when he saw me. "Who's she?" He asked staring at me straight in the eye. "This is Cora, she's new in my class." "So she's a nerd?"
I coughed. "This nerd can hear you," I said glaring at him. He rolled his eyes and said, "Whatever. But, don't tell her." They stared at each other for what seemed like ages and I ate my chicken nugget while watching them. "Fine." "Thank you," he said standing up and leaving the cafeteria. "Who's he?" Jamie said in a discussed tone, "My half brother. Two years ago, we learned that my dad cheated on my Mom. Turns out I have two half brothers, who are twins. Ew. They're terrible. They moved in after they're Mom died." Why does everyone's mom die?? Including mine. "Ahh."
Last class of the day, and I was tired. I had to do creative writing on what our dream life would be like. I didn't know exactly what I wanted of life, but I wrote down whatever sounded okay. And I also learned the name of the kid I had to sit next to, Peter. He was shy.
The end of the day came. "Awwww, I'm so happy I met you! You're pretty cool," Angelina said hugging me. "It was terrible, you're awful," Jamie's half brother said. Jamie punched him. "Shut up, you're great, Cora. Here, my number, " she gave me a sticky note with her number. "Mine's on there too," Angelina said. "You want mine too?" Her bother said sarcastically. "I am so done," I said glaring at him. "Yeah, so am I," he said glaring back. I had to look up to galre at him though, since he was a good four inches taller. He had Jamie's blue eyes and pale skin, but he had black hair instead of red like hers.
"Bye, nerd," he said putting his hand on my head, showing off how tall he was. "Shut up," I mumbled. "Sorry about him, bye," Jamie hugged me and walked away, smacking his head. "Is he always an asshole?" I ask turning to Angelina. "Nah, I think it's puberty messing with him." She hugged me and waved a little. I turned and walked outside of the school. Patrick's car was parked outside and I walked towards it.
"Hey, Cora! How was your day?" Patrick said putting away his phone.
"Great," I said entering. "Thanks to your popularity, I made friends. The fangirls saved me."
"Well, great."
"But there was also this annoying asshole."
"Ahhh, that sucks."
"Yeah, but we've dexided it's puberty that got him like that."
"Oh, what's your friends' name?"
"Angelina and Jamie."
"And the annoying asshole?"
I never got his name.
