Lily

When Emma and Phil came downstairs, I pulled Emma into another room. She looked a bit confused as to why I did.

"Lily, what's going on?" she asked. "Why are you here?"

"Emma, remember when my parents died and I was put into the orphanage?" I said.

"Yeah. That was the last time I saw you."

"Well, guess who adopted me."

A look of shock was plastered on her face. "You mean - oh my god, no way."

"Way."

"YOU WERE ADOPTED BY DAN AND PHIL?!?!?!"

I grinned. "Yep."

Emma screamed. "OH MY GOD, THAT'S AMAZING!!!!!"

Phil came rushing in. "Emma, what's wrong?!" he worriedly asked.

She settled down. "Nothing, love."

He breathed a sigh of relief. "Okay."

He walked out, and Emma giggled.

"He really loves you, Emma," I said.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"He was being protective and worrying about you!"

She shrugged. "True." She paused. "Lily, can I tell you something?"

"Of course!"

"Well, Phil and I are going to adopt a kid."

I became shocked. "Really?!"

"Yeah."

"Why can't you have kids of your own?"

"That's just it. Lily, I can't have kids."

"Why?"

She sighed. "It's - it's complicated." She changed the topic. "Whose last name do you have? Or do you have both?"

"I'm pretty sure I have Dan's last name, but I'm not sure."

"Phil said that you probably had Dan's."

I raised an eyebrow. "Why did you ask him that?"

She shrugged. "I was just wondering."

"Well, at least I know that my full name is Lilian Alison Howell." I paused. "How did you meet Phil?"

"I was walking down the street one day with my earbuds in and me being me, I wasn't paying attention and ran into someone. I didn't initially recognize him, but after having some coffee with him, I recognized him and did what a typical fangirl would do - I screamed."

I laughed. "Really?"

She nodded. "Really. Anyways, we gave each other our phone numbers and maintained communication. He often hung out at my place with me and watched movies while eating popcorn, but yesterday, he finally manned up and asked me out on a proper date."

"That's awesome, Emma! Wait - how long have you known him in real life?"

She thought for a moment. "About 3 months."

"Wow."

"I know."

Suddenly, my phone beeped. I looked at it and saw that it was time to record a video.
