Chapter 5
Emily's point of view
"Emily." Miss K said and I looked at her. "Those boys are here again. This time it's the tallest one and the tannest one." She told me and I nodded.
"Luke and Calum. Nice." I said and she chuckled. "Send them up please. It's okay." I said and she nodded. She left and I pulled my tank-top down a bit.
Soon, the two came up and I looked at them. "Look at you calum, you look like a thug." I said and he looked down at his clothes.
"He has white boxers with little yellow emoji faces." Luke said and I rose and eyebrow at the now blushing boy.
"I take that back."
"Oh shut up." He said and I laughed as I unzipped my hoodie. "You're allowed to wear straps that thin at school?"
"She has a hoodie on for a reason Calum." Luke said sassily and I laughed as I shrugged it off.
"Sassy Luke, nice." I said and laughed. "I had my hoodie on the whole day. Well, it's not mine. My friend moved and this was her's." I said and the nodded.
"How was school?" Calum asked me as he laid down on my bed. I shrugged and threw my jacket by my backpack.
"It was alright. Talked to the fake bitch today and she punched me in the boob." I said and rubbed it. "I busted her lip."
"Funny, Melissa came by and claimed some fake bitch hit her in the mouth after she did nothing wrong." Calum said and I looked and him as if he was stupid.
"Cal, boo boo, being dumb isn't attractive." I said and he looked at me confused. "Oh, you're not acting." I said and looked at Luke, who was shaking his head in disappointment.
"Oh Calum," Luke said and rubbed his face. "Did you hit your head earlier this morning? Did you get hit with the stupid stick?"
"Can you stop making fun of me? Did someone hit you with the dick stick?" Calum grumbled and I laughed.
"Michael did. It was hard as hell and it hurt, but I got used to it after awhile. It was pretty rough." Luke said and I face palmed.
"I'm out." I said as opened my door. They laughed and then tugged me back into the room. "You're really slow Calum."
"I didn't eat breakfast and I didn't get much sleep. I'm sorry." He said and laughed. I rolled my eyes and then nodded.
"Chill, it's fine. I said I punched a girl in the lip, then a girl you know comes home with a busted lip, isn't that a bit suspicious?" I asked him and he looked at me, blinking a few times.
"You said she was a fake bitch, Melissa is a sweetheart." He said and I laughed so hard that I collapsed on to the floor.
"Oh my god." I gasped out as I laughed. "Wow Calum, that was funny." I told him through my laughter. "I'm weak." I laughed out.
"Is she breathing?" Luke asked as he nudged me with his foot. I held on to my sides as I laughed and Calum poked me.
"Are you alive?" Calum asked as he continuously poked me. I stopped laughing and then grabbed his finger.
"Poke me again and you won't be playing bass for awhile." I said and he looked at me frightened. I let go of his finger and he pulled his hand away from me.
"What's up between you and Melissa? You're both so sweet." Calum said and I scoffed. "And you're both into girls. Ashton said you're pan and Melissa is bi-sexual." He said and winked at me.
"If you think I'm going to let that thing get inside of my pants then you must be tripping on some extra strong shrooms." I said and he blushed.
"I didn't mean that way." He said and Luke laughed. "I meant like, maybe you guys can become friends and hang out and bond over cute people."
"Fat chance." I said and rolled my eyes. "I may be carefree and crazy, but being around her will make me suicidal and I'll probably end up hanging myself within the first ten seconds."
"Hey, don't joke with that." Luke said and I looked at him. "You shouldn't joke around with that." He told me and I nodded.
"She's not that bad." Calum said and rolled his eyes. "She an angel." He told me and I just shrugged, not believing them.
"Michael and her are the closest between us all. She's like his little sister, he once went to the school and requested that she switched her classes since someone kept hurting her." He told me.
"So that's why we don't have Spanish, Math, and Gym together." I said and Calum looked at me. "She had a little guardian angel because little bitch is too scared of me. If you're scared of me when I'm pissed off, don't fucking piss me off." I said and shrugged.
"Okay, I'm done gossiping about Melissa." Luke said and I looked at him. "Can we have a subject change? I feel uncomfortable."
"So Michael's stopping by on Friday with me. Luke and Ashton are going to be with their families." Calum said and I nodded. "Our families are out at the moment so we can't exactly go home."
"I see." I said and nodded. "That must suck. You finally get back from touring and you can't see your family because they're not home."
"My sister is off persuing her own music career and my parents are out working. Michael's parents left to visit some family members that he's never even met before. No use in flying back for nothing you know?" Calum said and I nodded.
"That sucks." I repeated, not very good at the comforting part when it comes to upset people. "If you're going to cry, don't expect me to wipe your tears. I'm not a tissue or your sleeve."
"At least she's honest." Luke said and I nodded. "I'm not good with comforting either."
"I'm not a teddy bear either, don't expect me to hug you and accept your hugs and shit. If you touch me I'll take the knife from the waist band of my jeans and stab you." I said as I held my hip.
"Okay, there's mean and then there is cold hearted." Calum mumbled and I nodded as I rubbed my side. "I'm not going to cry and I'm not going to touch you."
"Why do you carry around a pocket knife?" Luke asked me in disbelief and confusion. "You're fourteen."
"Yeah? So?" I asked. "I'm a fourteen year old with an ass, some titties, and a vagina who walks to and from school. It's a safety precaution and maybe you don't understand because you have bodyguards, but I don't. I have to protect myself." I said and he looked at me weirdly.
"It's kind of funny because you're not even joking. Not even in the slightest." Luke said and I nodded. "That's sad." Luke said.
"Reality is sad, yes indeed." I said and nodded. I looked at Calum and he was on his phone. "Hey Calum, what are you doing?"
"Texting Michael. He said that some dude tried to hurt Melissa when they went shopping, with her mum of course." Calum said and I nodded.
"That is why you carry a knife around. If a nigga-"
"Don't use that word." Calum said and I huffed. "That is very inappropriate and offensive. Not to us necessarily, but to others and people with darker skin complexions. Don't say that."
"Fine." I said and nodded. "If some mother fucker touches your ass without consent, just cut his finger off. If he cat calls you, make him choke on the blade. It's simple and it's self defense."
"One day you're going to end up in jail for either murder, battery, or as an accomplice of a crime." Luke told me and I looked at him.
"That's funny," I said and took the blade out of my jeans. I opened it and looked at the blade. "My counselor said the same thing to me after I got into a fight. She said if I kept hurting people, I'll go to jail because it'll stop becoming self defense and become battery."
"Your counselor can tell you that? Really?" Calum asked me and I nodded. "Wow." He said.
"The staff at my achool won't sugar coat shit. They will tell you that you're either going to pass or you won't. They'll tell you that if you want to do drugs, go ahead because not every druggie fuck up their life. They'll swear and they'll smoke, not during school hours, and they'll call you out on something. They won't fuck around." I said as I closed the knife.
"In my school, they weren't allowed to swear or anything." Luke said and Calum agreed.
"My English teacher once said that he'll put a pistol in my mouth since I kept talking back. It was funny to watch his face look shocked as all the kids told him that I would be the one with the gun." I said.
"There's a difference between-"
"Badass and mentally insane?" I said and laughed. "I know that. I may be a bit crazy, but I am not insane. I know when I crossed the line and I know when I do something that I shouldn't."
They nodded and I stretched a bit as I yawned. "Anyways, off of the topic of my mental health. I'm fine, a bit screwed up, but fine." I said and then put my knife away.
"If you're tired, we'll leave. We don't mind." Calum said and chuckled. "We know that school is tiring and stuff."
"Maybe that's a good idea. I'm tired and can always see you guys like tomorrow or something." I said and they nodded. "Bye guys. See you later."
"Bye babe, take care and don't hurt yourself with that knife. Also, don't hurt anyone else with it. We'd like to visit you here rather than behind bars." He said and I laughed.
"Deal." I said and nodded as I willingly gave them hugs. "I'll see you guys manaña." I said and they nodded.
"Bye Ems." Luke said and then waved before walking out of the room. I yawned and then my phone went off. I grabbed it and dismissed the call, not bothering to look at who it was. I was too tired to check.
I jumped on to my bed and then grabbed my pillow. "Finally, peace, quiet, and alone time." I said and sighed in relief.
It's so rare when I get moments like this.
