Chapter Three
Jaylan's point of view
"Maybe it isn't too much, three bedroom and three bathroom, but it's home when we aren't traveling." Luke smiled as he held his arms out. "Uh... mí casa es tú casa?"
"Gracias. Muy bien." I laughed and he put an arm around my shoulders as we walked in. "Es muy bonita. Very beautiful."
"Let me show you around. Brian will stuff your bag in your room, and I'll save that for last. Best for last, am I right?" He asked and I nodded as he began showing me around.
"This is the kitchen, we really only use it for breakfast or if we get tired of ordering in or going out. There's the balcony, has a wonderful view of the city and even the ocean which is maybe a mile or two away. Down there is the living room and that lil pup's room, that's what that door is. Hi Tunia. Hi piggy." Luke gasped as a bulldog with a pink collar came running up to us.
"Fun fact, I am extremely allergic to dogs," I brought up as I crouched down, scratching behind her ear. "But... I love them so much."
"How allergic?"
"Sneezing and stuff. Nothing too fatal." I laughed and he nodded as I looked at Petunia, holding a silver charm in my hand from her collar. "Who's Arzaylea?"
"Hm?" He asked as he looked up at, taking this time to stand up. "Sorry, I didn't hear you."
"Her collar says Arzaylea on it." I told him and he laughed. "Best friend?" I asked and he shook his head.
"Ex. We got this lil piggy together but ended up going south about a month ago maybe. She comes and visits her sometimes, when she isn't partying and drinking away her cash with her 'baddie' friends." He mumbled bitterly and I felt bad for bringing it up.
"I'm sorry. I uh, didn't know-"
"Don't worry. Past is in the past." He chuckled as he stood up. "Besides, we're both happy now."
I nodded, though I couldn't help but feel intrusive and irritating by asking the simple, but destructive, question. He probably hates me now, but won't tell me it to my face. I mean, I just brought up an ex of his, a recent one to top it off. I doubt he's as cool with it as I let on. I know I wouldn't be.
"Hey, you coming?"
I shook my head as he snapped me out of my spiraling thoughts, and then looked at Luke. "Yeah. Yeah sorry. I just zoned out. Sorry." I kept apologizing, heat rushing to my face as I followed him around the apartment.
"That's the den down there, it's where we usually go for some quiet time since it's always loud upstairs and in the living room. Has a computer, printer, books, basic stuff. Washer and dryer are in the room over, through that door." He explained and I nodded as we went back up the small flight of stairs.
"Guest bedroom is behind the staircase, you can see it through the stairs right there. A bathroom is right across, and that door also leads to the den." He pointed out and I peeked into the roomd. "Our rooms are upstairs. Come."
I followed and he pointed to a closed door. "That's our bedroom, and right across is your room. The door in between in a closet where our cleaning supplies are, and the one across from that is the bathroom." He opened the doors to show me inside and I peered into the room he said was mine.
"Where did Brian go?" I asked since I saw my bag, but not the blonde. "Did he leave?"
"Dunno..." Luke trailed off as his phone rang. "Right, we'll go this weekend to pick up a phone and stuff for you." He told me as he pulled the device from his pocket.
"It's fine really. I don't need one. I don't have many friends and-"
"What if you're out and we can't reach you?" He asked and I was silent. "Don't worry if you don't want us spending money on you. Starting now, consider yourself spoiled."
I blushed a bit and he laughed as he stepped away to take his call, a smile on his lips as he answered. I turned to my bedroom and then stepped inside, looking around the white walls and black furniture, a real 'modern' look to it all.
The bed frame was black, matching the two small dressers beside it. The desk beside the best was white however, golden handles matching the doorknobs around. A body mirror was behind the bedroom door, and there were two doors that could lead to possibly a bathroom and a closet. Possibly. A large window was on the wall to my left, white blinds opened to let the sun in. There were a few bookshelves mounted to the walls, and a wire rack against the wall by the door.
It was so pretty, and I felt like I didn't deserve to have such a pretty room. I was just a trashy, teenage girl who grew up in a bad town and didn't know left from right sometimes. There wasn't a thing I could have done to deserve this kind of luxury.
"Brian is getting food for dinner. Any preferences?" Luke asked and I turned around, lifting my glasses off of my nose and holding them. "Burgers? Pizza? Chinese? Burritos?"
"I don't mind really." I shrugged and he nodded, telling him to just get a few burritos. I pushed my hair out of my face and then set my jacket on the bed since it was getting hot.
"Need help unpacking?" Luke asked me and I looked at the bag on the bed. "I really don't mind."
"No, no its fine." I smiled smally as I ran my hand over some bracelets on my left wrist. "I can do it. Don't worry. I'm not helpless."
"Just saying. I'd hate to be that person, the one who can help but doesn't." He shrugged and I shook my head.
"If I need help, I'll shout." I assured him and he nodded. I walked into the room and I heard him walk downstairs, the sound of his boots hitting the stairs making me flinch lightly since it was loud.
I began to unpack, and I took a small compact mirror out of my hair accessories box. I flipped it open and looked at my hair to find a small feather braided into it along with some beads. I chuckled and then rolled my eyes.
She was obsessed with hair feathers and beads, basically all of that 'boho' stuff.
I looked at the clothes that were scrawled over the duvet and I heard another knock on the door. "Thought you went downstairs?" I asked as my fingers wrapped around the spit where my wrist met my hand.
"Door to your left is a closet, door to your right is a bathroom." He smiled and I thanked him before he turned away.
I looked at the closet door and then walked in, finding that it was pretty basic, a shelf up top and down low, along with a bunch of hangers and hooks. I was glad for that. If it was walk in with a million compartments and drawers, I'd probably be too overwhelmed to even look this way, let alone walk inside of it.

"So you're bilingual?" Brian asked me and I nodded my head. "How'd that come to be? Is Spanish your first language? Did you decide to learn it?"
"Sí. It's my first language." I answered and then pulled the tinfoil away from my burrito. "My school records say it's English though, so I don't have to go through different tests and all. It's a drag."
"Mexican parents?"
"No. Español." I told them and Brian nodded, asking me where they were from. "My dad was from Spain, so he's Spanish, and my mom was Native American, she lived in Oklahoma."
"What tribe?" Luke asked and I took a drink of my water before I answered.
"Cherokee."
"That's cool. I'm like... all white so I'm nothing too special like you." Luke joked and I laughed quietly, neither agreeing or disagreeing. "I can't speak anything but English. I'm your typical blonde and blue eyed boy, I wear designer jeans but eat from a taco truck down the street."
"I'm sure you have quirks that make you stand out." I assured and Brian held a napkin to his mouth as he laughed.
"He's literally seven feet tall and trips over his own feet. He has more than just a few quirks." He told me and Luke hit his arm as his cheeks went red.
"I do not!" Luke protested and I sat quietly as they began to tease one another. I'm not sure how it started, but soon they were talking about the way each other dressed. "At least my aesthetic isn't looking like I popped straight out of Grease."
"Okay Lana Del Rey, fucking flowers in your hair and ripped denim jackets. Go drink your shitty moonshine and beg your sugar daddy for new boots." Brian scoffed and Luke rolled his eyes.
"Who is this guy? Like, who's mans is this?" He asked and looked at me. "Did you let him in? Do you know him?"
I shook my head and Brian kissed his boyfriend's cheek after laughing loudly. "You know I love you and your Tumblr aesthetic ass, Luke. Shut up you idiot."
"You better love me." Luke threatened and Brian just laughed as Luke leaned into him, the two cuddling on the couch was we continued talking about my parents and old family.

Question of the Chapter:
- What's your first language? (You should totally say hi in your first language too, that'd be wicked.)
Author's answer:
- Mine is English, but I am working on learning Spanish and French since they're both languages of love and I am a hopeless romantic and think they're beautiful.
