Chapter 56
Jordan's point of view
This was it. The day of promotion. After this I was going to year nine, or high school.
I fixed my red tie and then looked at myself in the mirror. I had Chelsea curl my now red hair a bit and I had decided to go against school dress code and wear my piercings. Chelsea had also done my make-up, despite me not wanting any on.
I smiled and then stepped out of my bathroom. I went down to the living room and took a seat at the table with Chris. "You're wearing your eyeliner too?" He nodded and smiled.
"You looked badass JJ," he said and I thanked him. "Let's hope you don't look better than Timothy or this is going to be really sad." I laughed and nodded, picking up my toast and taking a bite.
"I need to take a lot of pictures today so I can post them on Twitter and Instagram." I said and he agreed. "I also need to send some to Ashton, he said he wanted pictures."
"Today is going to be fun." I said and he nodded. "I'm going to get so many complaints about what I'm wearing, watch." I told him and he said I wasn't. "You owe me ten bucks if I end up getting over ten complaints."
"You're on."
-
I walked into the school with Christian and so many people looked at me as if I was an alien. I walked over to our friends and Shaun smiled at me.
"You look amazing Jordan." He told me and I thanked him. Timothy turned around and I was about ready to drool.
"Damn." We both said and then blushed. "You look hot." There we go again, we said it at the same time.
"You two are so going to get married one day." Shaun said and I blushed harder. "I am going to sue if you don't."
"I agree with Shaun." Taylor said and I rolled my eyes. "But in all honesty, you rock that outfit better than we do." He said and I smiled.
"What in the world are you wearing?" There's one person. "You're supposed to be in a dress, not skinny jeans and leather." I turned around and saw a girl. "What are you? Some dyke?"
"No, I just don't want to be like every other chick in the school." I said and she just looked at me. "I know I'm beautiful, but do you need I stare so hard?" I asked and she just walked away, calling me a dyke again.
"She's just jealous your eyeliner and eyebrows are better than her's." James said and I laughed.
The bell rang and we all walked to class. I took a seat and Peter chuckled as he saw me. "Well, aren't you just so keen on breaking stereotypical gender roles?" He said and I smiled.
"I can wear a suit kind of thing if I want to because it's comfortable. Besides, I find skinny jeans and leather jackets more comfortable than dresses." He nodded and then told us were going to watch a movie since it's the last day of school. Me and Taylor high-fived and Peter laughed.
He told us we were going to watch a movie about poetry and life. "It's called 'Dead Poet's Society'." He told us and then started the movie.
As the beginning played, I smiled and then thought this would actually be a good movie.
-
"Robbie Williams is one of the best actors ever." I said as we got our bagged lunches. "He's one of my favorites."
"Same here. I love his movies so much." Timothy told me as we made our way to the playground. We couldn't eat in the cafeteria because they were setting it up for our promotion. "There is always some hidden message in it and I love that. They teach you a lot about life and shit."
"Langauge Timothy." I said and he just rolled his eyes. We took a seat and I leaned my head on his shoulder. "When I get home, I'm going to watch the rest of the movie because we aren't going to finish it today."
He nodded and looked at me. "My parents are throwing this little party for our promotion and she told me to tell you that you're invited." I nodded and smiled.
"I'll tell Chelsea." He nodded and then I pulled my phone out. The staff didn't care about them anymore since it was the last day of school. "Take a picture with me." He nodded and set took some pictures. The last one was of him kissing my cheek and I smiled.
"Post that on Twitter." He told me and I nodded. "That way everyone knows your mine and fanboys can't try and take you from me." He said and I laughed.
I posted it on twitter with the caption 'my dork' and then put my phone in my jacket pocket. "You know, you really do look good. All those people who make fun of your outfit are stupid assholes." He told me and I blushed.
"Thank you Timmy," I said and he nodded. "But watch your language. What did I say about profanity?"
"You won't give me a kiss if I swear too much around you." He said and I nodded. "I'm sorry." He said.
"It's okay." I said and then Taylor and Christian ran over to us. "What's so funny?" I asked since they were like dying of laughter.
"James he-he told me I was hot and some girl thought he was talking about her." Christian said. "And she slapped him-oh my god."
I laughed and soon the purple haired boy ran over. "She told her boyfriend and her boyfriend was on the basketball team." He said and clung on to Chris.
"Just tell he-"
"I did! She thinks I'm lying." James said and looked to his side. "He's coming." Christian looked around and once he noticed there wasn't any staff member around, he grabbed James' face and kissed him.
"Urgh, PDA guys." Taylor said and then took a seat beside me. "Can I have your sandwhich?" I nodded and handed him the brown bag. He thanked me and I just nodded.
"Ew, he's gay." The girl said. "It's okay, let's go now. No need to waste our time on a fag." She said and the guy looked at her disgusted.
He's gonna break up with her. He's gonna break up with her. He's gonna bre-
"So being gay is 'ew'? And you called him a fag?" He asked and she nodded, obviously confused. "You know what, I can't date a girl who makes fun of people's sexualities and finds it disgusting."
"Wha-"
"Bye." He said to her and I looked at James and Christian. "It's sorry about that, I didn't know buddy. Keep doing you okay?" They nodded and he walked away.
"Wow." James said and I laughed. "I'm speechless." He told us and Chris agreed.
-
I sat down in a chair at the cafeteria. I could feel the eyes of a bunch of parents on us and the principal started the whole thing. She spoke of how she was proud of us and how this school helped prepare us for highschool and college and so forth.
I nudged Taylor since he was sat beside me and he hummed. "This is all a bunch of lies." I said and he agreed. We watched as she called up the first student speaker out of three.
Throughout the first two speeches, you could hear how fake they were. Obviously, the principal had edited them so they portrayed the school better than it actually was.
"And last but not least, Taylor Hernandez." I looked at the boy beside me and he just winked at me. When the fudgeballs did this idiot sign up to be a speaker and why did he not tell us?
"Good afternoon, family, friends, and staff, I am Taylor Hernandez. Today we are gathered here to celebrate a special moment in our lives. Your kids, siblings, peers, whoever you are here for, are all going to be promoting from the eighth grade and to high-school." I rolled my eyes at this idiot and put my head down.
"This school has given me a lot of great memories, such as winning medals in basketball. There also have been terrible ones, such as when my best friend ignored me and when I wasn't too happy and as golucky as I am today." He said and I looked up.
He spoke of how he used to get terrible grades and how he never really had a lot of friends. He told us how he used to be so insecure and so closed in that he barely talked to two people.
"But as time went on, I made friends and those friends helped me a lot. They made me happy and they made me smile. I owe it to this school for helping me gain the best friends ever, and you know who you are." He said and I could see his eyes dart to all of us, even Shaun.
After that, I could tell it was fake and it was edited. You could see it from the way he would furrow his eyebrows and keep his eyes on the paper more than on the crowd.
Soon, he finished his speech and then took a bow. I laughed and he walked over. "Why didn't you tell us you were going to speak?' I asked and he gave have a quiet chuckle.
"I wanted it to be a surprise." He told me and I nodded. The principal began handing out some awards and Chris got one for three extraordinary years of good behavior, grades, and attendance. Timothy got one for perfect attendance for the year and James got one for the same reason as Timothy.
Soon, the promotion certificates were being handed out and my hands hurt by the time it was Timothy getting his award. We were seating in alphabetical order and Timothy was the one with the last name closest to 'A'. Our group was the only ones I really cared about, everyone else was quite irrelevant to me.
After Timothy, it was Chris, then it was Taylor, then it was me. When I went up to claim the certificate, Chelsea had walked up and took a picture of me, just like she did with Chris.
I smiled and then continued walking. I sat down in my seat and Taylor nudged me, smiling. I smiled to and then Shaun was up to get his award. After he got it, James was the last in our group to grab his certificate.
When we finished, the principal announced us the class of 2019 because that's when we would be graduating high-school. We all stood up and the principal told us to leave through the cafeteria doors and I smiled as Chelsea made her way over to me and Chris.
"I'm so proud of you." She said and wrapped her arms around us two. As she hugged Chris, I felt angry that his own parents didn't come here for him. It was just really terrible.
"Timothy's parents are having a party to congratulate us, can we go?" I asked and she nodded. I thanked her and she told us to get the rest of our group so we could take and group photo.
Chris said he'd too it and Chelsea took a picture of me again. She told me she sent it to the guys and I nodded. Soon, our whole group was here and the parents were taking pictures us all on their phones.
"Come on, let's head to Timothy's house." Chelsea said and we nodded. As we exited the building, Timothy grabbed me and then pressed a kiss to my lips.
"I love you Jordan," he said and I smiled. "And I'm proud of you."
"I love you too Timmy," I told him. "And I'm proud of you too."
