Chapter 40
Jordan's point of view
I sat on my window couch, my head rested on the window as All Time Low played on my iPad. I sang along quietly to the song and closed my eyes. I didn't feel good. My head hurt and I haven't eaten since the incident that was two days ago.
Two days since I actually ate something. Since then all I've had was water and a few pieces of strawberry gum. Strawberry. Timothy loves strawberries more than he loves life. I haven't seen him in forever. It felt strange not seeing him or hearing from him for days.
I looked down at my wrist and traced the white scars with my fingers. Timothy told me to tell him if I ever feel like hurting myself. I wrapped my hand around my wrist and then looked out of my window. I can't think like this. I can't do this. It wouldn't be fair to Ashton, Timothy, or anyone else I'm close with.
My phone rang and I picked it up. I knew who it easy just by the ring tone. "Hi." I said and I heard him take a deep breath in.
"I met up with Taylor." He said happily and I smiled. I liked when he was happy. "I can't believe this actually worked. Jordan, I'm so proud of you. You're so amazing."
You wouldn't call me amazing if I told you I killed the guy.
"Thanks Timmy, but it wasn't just me. It was Ashton and the officers at the scene aswell." I told him and he told me he knew. "Anyways, what's up?" I asked him as I looked down at my nails. I was going to paint them black since they were all boring and plain right now.
"I just wanted to ask if you could stay the night over here. I have some surprises for you if you can." He told me and I chuckled. "I know how much you love surprises."
"I do love myself some surprises." I agreed as I stood up. "Yeah, I'll ask, give me a few seconds." I said and my door opened. "Hey Ash, can I stay the night at Timothy's house?"
"Yeah, sure you can. I'm dropping Chris off at James' right now so make a bag and meet us downstairs. Also, I told him about the whole ordeal, he's excited to say the least." Ashton said and I smiled.
"Glad to hear." I said honestly. "Now all you have to do is talk to his parents about it. Oh, and please don't fuck it up like you did with me in the beginning." I told him and he laughed.
"I won't, promise. Now pack your bag, I'll pick you up tomorrow night." He told me and I nodded. He closed my door and Timothy shot questions at me. "I'll tell you when I get there Timmy." I said and he laughed.
"You better." He said. "Is have to fix a few things, so I'm gonna have to end this call babe. I'll see you soon?" He asked.
"Yeah, see you soon. Love you Timmy." I said and then hung up after he returned it. I saw my battery was at fifty percent but I didn't bother grabbing my phone charger. I wasn't going to use it much. I never do when I'm with Timothy.
I began putting an extra outfit inside of my backpack and then suddenly, my phone buzzed. I looked at it and Timothy texted me to wear something nice but casual. I rose an eyebrow at the text but told him I would anyways.
I put my phone on my bed and then stripped down. I pulled a pair of of ripped black jeans on, threw on a baggy white, long sleeved shirt, and then laced on a pair of black and white converse. I smiled to myself and then brushed my hair out, leaving it down. I put in my piercings and then after I put on some perfume, I grabbed my bag with my spare clothes and my phone.
I put my phone in my pocket and then made my way downstairs where the other two were waiting. I smiled and Chris sent me a wink. "Let's go." Ashton said and I nodded. He handed me my glasses off of the coffee table and I thanked him as I put them on.
-
"See you tomorrow Ash, you too Chrissy boo." I said and they waved. I went up to Timothy's door and then knocked on it. He opened it up and I gave him a hug.
"Come on in." He said and I nodded. I stepped inside of the house and then I heard the car turn on and leave. "You look beautiful." He told me and I thanked him.
"What's my surprise?"
"Follow me." He said and I nodded. He lead me to the kitchen and then turned on the light. He opened the pantry and then pulled out my favorite pack of candy. "Here's one." He said and I thanked him as he gave it to me.
"One? How many are there?" I asked and he lead me to the living room. He went to the chest in the middle of his living room and then pulled out a box. I looked at him and then at the white and blue box.
"Come open it." He said and I walked over. I set the pack of candy down and then opened the box. "Do you like it? I had to bug Michael to help me get it made." He said as I looked at the tank-top.
"We'll never be as young as we are now"
"There's one more. However, this one, you have to find before you leave." He said and I looked at him. "And don't you go on about how you can't take these. I paid for these and I'm not returning them." He told me and I laughed.
"This is so sweet Timmy, thank you." I told him as I set my bag down on the floor. I wrapped my arms around his neck and then gave him a kiss. "You're the best." I told him after we pulled away.
"I can't be the best if we haven't even gone on a date." He said and I chuckled. "This isn't ideal or what every other girl wants but until I get my license, it will have to do." He said and I rose an eyebrow at him.
"I thought we established that I'm not like every other girl?"
"We have, but I know you'd like that, even if it is just once." He told me and I rolled my eyes at him. "Follow me." He told me and I nodded. I set the tank-top back in the box and followed him to his backyard.
"I've never been out here, despite how many times I've came to your house." I told him and he chuckled. I closed the door behind us and looked around. It was like ours. A barbecue grill on the patio, a pool beside it, and a really large tree in the back. A few tables and chairs around the area aswell.
"It's nothing too special really." He said and grabbed my hand. "Oh, and I forgot to say, my parents aren't here. It's just us two." He said and I nodded. He lead me to the tree and I looked at him confused. "Trust me." He said and I nodded.
He helped me climb the tree and I giggled as I hoisted myself up. "I feel like a monkey." I said and he laughed. He told me to keep going until I saw a hatch and I rolled my eyes.
I climbed up one more branch and then I saw a handle. I pushed it once I figured out you couldn't pull it and then got inside of it. I pulled myself up and then looked around. "Wow, it's so pretty in here." I said.
There was a guitar propped against the tree trunk and a table that had a picnic basket on it. There were pillows and blankets inside of here and I could tell where the windows were because of the blue and white curtains.
"I never let anyone up here." He told me and I turned around. He closed the hatch and then smiled at me. "You're the first person to be up here besides for me. I didn't even let my dad in here and he's the one who built it." He said and I laughed.
"I'd feel honored." I said honestly. "A date in a treehouse, cross that off of my bucket list." I said with a smile. "How many people get to say their first date was in a treehouse?"
"I don't know but now you're one of them." He said as he turned on another kerosene lamp. "It's not much, but it's thw best I could do without having my parents do anything."
"It's perfect." I said and I walked over to him. I kissed his cheek and he smiled. "Really, I love it." I told him and he stood up.
"It even have a hammock in here if you want to lay down" He told me and I nodded. "Also, don't tell the guys about this. They'll get jealous because they've always wanted to come up here but I never let them."
"Your secret is safe with me." I told him and then sat down. He opened a curtain and I looked out of it. "Did you have to clear those branches in order to have that open?" I asked him since it was practically on the roof of this house.
"Yeah, I do it myself. We use the wood for a bonfire sometimes, other times it goes into the fireplace." He told me and it nodded. "It's pretty isn't it?" He asked and I agreed as I stood up and laid down on the hammock.
"I have a telescope if you want to use it sometime." He said and brought it out. "Ism not really planning on leaving this hideaway too quickly... unless you want to, then I will."
"I quite like it in here." I said and my stomach rumbled. "I think I forgot that pack of candy in the house." I laughed out and he just rolled his eyes at me.
"Leave it to you to forget about something." He joked and I laughed. "Good thing I made some things and brought it up here." He said as I he grabbed the picnic basket.
"I remember you telling me coconut was your favorite fruit one time so I made these coconut cookies with my mum." He brought up as he handed me one. I thanked him and sat up a bit.
"You don't like coconut."
"But you do." He said and smiled. I blushed and broke a piece of the cookie off. I took a bite and then looked and him. "What? Are the disgusting? Unlike you, I'm a terrible baker."
"No, they're good." I said and then looked at them. "Are you sure you didn't buy these at the store?" I asked him and he laughed. "Are you sure you helped her?"
"Yes, I did help." He said as he pushed the basket aside a bit. "And I'm glad you like them. My mum would be pleased to hear that."
"Do you have milk in the basket of yours? Or anything to drink? You can't have cookies without something to drink." I said and he pulled out a bottle of milk. "Nice." I said and he laughed.
"You speak the truth. Milk without cookies is like spaghetti without meatballs." He told me and I agreed. I thanked him and then took a drink. "Anyways, what was Ashton going on about some ordeal and Chris?" He asked me.
"Um, you know how Chris has himself a pair of terrible parents and a rude family?" I asked and he nodded. "Well, we told Ash about that whole incident at the dinner and then Chris's parents I guess told Ash that if he wanted, he could adopt Chris because ya know, they're terrible." I said.
"And Ashton is taking that seriously?"
"As serious as he takes his career." I told him and he seemed surprised. "He asked me if he should adopt Chris, and I told him as long as he doesn't screw up that it's a good idea. He screwed up with me and it'd he does that with Chris I'll kick him in the jewels." I said and he laughed.
"I would too." He said and I nodded as I drank my milk. As I told him the story, I was eating my cookie and now I'm thirsty. "So you and him would be related if this happens?"
"Legally yeah." I said and he nodded. "Anyways, what's with the guitar up here? It's usually always in your room." I said and he looked at it.
"Well, I was going to play you a song..." He trailed off and it set the closed bottle of milk on the floor beside me. "Should I?" He teased and I nodded.
"Please Timmy," I asked and he tapped his lips. I chuckled and then gave him a quick kiss. "Now will you play a song?" I asked and he nodded as he grabbed the guitar.
"Remember that song you showed me and said you loved?"
"'Force Of Nature' by Bea Miller?"
"Bingo." He said and I gasped. "I began practicing that song just for today." He said and I leaned my head against the net as I watched him adjust the guitar.
"You're the best Timmy, what did I do to deserve you in my life?" I asked him truthfully and he looked up at me.
"Why, you listened to All Time Low and helped me pick out a shirt, that's what you did." He said and I laughed. "However, I should be asking that question. What did I do to deserve you in my life?" He asked.
"You listened to All Time Low and helped me pick out a shirt." I said and he smiled. "Remind me to tell Ashton to thank All Time Low guys for helping us get together." I said.
"I will." He said and then strummed his guitar. "Now, quite as I play the song." I laughed and nodded as I watched him, his eyes darting to me every now and then.
