Some things I thought of before (you can change them if you want):

-Their face markings almost always show, though it can change appearance. ex: in one of the semi-human forms their face markings look like scars. Other times, they might look like birthmarks. They can choose what they want them to look like.

-Their third eye always shows. They can cover this up with an illusion (they can make illusions) and look completely human.

-Their tail was cut off in an accident
