Quick Description:

Growing up, I thought that Steven Universe was a good cartoon. I liked the characters (most of them), the story it told, the music, animation, and so on. When the movie and then Steven Universe Future came out, I still had that feel of likeness to it. It showed how Steven grew and what he had to do while growing up. When the series had finally come to an end, a thought came into my mind "what if Steven had a brother, but the brother hated him?". With that, the idea for The Other Universe had begun.

The Story:

The story was supposed to be about an older brother of Steven Universe who grew into hating him and the other original Crystal Gems (Garnet, Amythest, and Pearl). Due to an unforeseen accident, something happens to the mc where later on he blames Steven for it and grows into wanting revenge. As the story progressed, the mc would carefully watch Steven, waiting for a moment to strike to where he would end him.... yet while he would have many close calls, he would actually meet many different other gems that shared a somewhat similar feeling like him with Steven. He'd get to know the other gems (Jasper, Lapis, Peridot, Spinel, the other Rubies and Pearls, etc) and slowly those gems would all have feelings for him. As the story would progress, it would follow the Steven Universe Future timeline to where it would all lead up to the Mc vs Steven in their "Monster Forms". Afterwards it would end a little something like this 

Epilogue: 

It had been almost a week since Steven and Y/N had fought each other and yet it felt like the town still couldn't believe it. These two had been locals since the days they were born. They all knew the boys were different with being part Gem and all, but through it all they had accepted them. When more Gems had come to Beach City it was Y/N and Steven that assured them that "everything would be fine". Overtime it seemed that it was so, yet after last week it had seemed that Y/N and Steven had issues to settle. After the collision those two had caused out in the water, it apparently came to where Steven was going to be leaving Beach City for a while. He wasn't being kicked or cast out or anything, it's just that after that one huge emotional rollercoaster he had been on, he felt that he needed to do more somewhere else. He knew that his dad and the gems could easily help around the town and Little Homeworld, and that everything would be ok. Connie was going to Space Camp, Sadie was with her new girlfriend, Lars was the leader of the Off Colors, and many of the new gems were slowly interacting and becoming regular citizens of Beach City. With everything looking alright, Steven decided it was time to start a new adventure and go on a trip.

Now while everybody had said farewell to Steven in their own way, there was one who hadn't yet...and it looked like he wouldn't. But Steven understood. As the gems gave him one more emotional farewell, Steven finally pulled away in his own car, and drove out of Beach City. Looking back through his side mirror, he gave a watery eyed smile and began to look forward onto what his next adventure would take him...which apparently would be in front of nearly crashing into a fallen tree blocking the road.

SCRRRREEEECCCHH!

Luckily for Steven he had stopped just in time. As he got his normal breathing back, he saw that the fallen tree was actually being lifted up and suddenly tossed into the hillside. There standing in the tree's place though.... was actually the person that hadn't said bye to him.

Steven: Y/N?

In the middle of the road was Y/N, but what caught Steven's eye was the duffle bag on his shoulder. Steven didn't know exactly what to do at that moment, especially as Y/N started to approach the car. All through that time Y/N had a plain emotionless face and just knocked on the passenger door. Not knowing what else to do, he unlocked the door.

Still not saying anything, Y/N merely opened the door, and sat in the passenger's seat.

Y/N: .....

Steven: ....

Y/N: ....

Steven: ....

After a few minutes of awkward silence, Y/N was the first to speak.

Y/N: *looking forward* Listen.... I know that in the past you've said some things and I've said a LOT of things, then of course there was that fight we had... but that was then. Now, I know that you're going on sort of trip, right?

Steven was looking at Y/N cautiously while following along when Y/N asked that. His response was a slow nod.

Y/N: Well....would it be alright if I joined and hung out with you for a while?

That question made Steven's eyes nearly pop right out his sockets. Y/N saw his brother's reaction and decided to give a response.

Y/N: Steven....I barely remember what mom looked like. I had her for at least a year, then all of a sudden, instead of mom and dad around me...YOU were there instead of her. I was little and didn't understand what happened and why mom was gone. When Pop explained that later on to us about what actually happened to her... and then after a while, you started to actually have gem powers while I still didn't, I was pissed. Here I was the older brother, yet I didn't have jack squat except a pink gem in my belly button that was the only remnant I had left of my mom. Garnet, Pearl, and Amythest were always showering you with attention once your powers kicked in, I always got left behind, and no matter how hard I tried to prove myself it just never mattered to any of you guys. Dad started to stress out more when you went on missions with the gems and always worried about you. When the whole cave accident happened, and you just froze up on me at the wrong time...my anger just.... grew. I felt like you betrayed me.

Steven: *shocked* Y/N.....I had no idea.

Y/N: Well, I did try to kill you many times, so I could understand why-

Steven: N-No! Besides that, I-I shouldn't have freaked out on you. I thought during that time I was finally ready to fight with the Gems and help protect Beach City, I never...never thought about how you were doing or what you felt.... when I saw you dangling and reaching out for me ...I freaked. I felt like I was never going to see you again, and instead of trying to help you I froze. Yet, even after that... I felt like I did lose you.

Y/N: *glancing at him* Like I said before though, THAT was in the past. Now is only Today and The Future. And honestly, after beating the crap out of you here and there and just letting go of most of my rage and anger and frustration.....I wouldn't mind trying to...talk to my brother again. I mean come on....you're technically my only sibling I have.

Steven was once again shocked to his core. He figured after their last fight, that Y/N would just keep his distance away from him, yet here he was actually sitting near him and actually talking to him...and now...his older brother wanted to what he felt like was trying to reconnect (in his own way) ....like heck he was goanna let that get away.

Steven: Uhh...i-if you want you can, but I mean I don't know if you'll like where we're going.

Y/N: *finally fully looks at him and smirks* Guess there's only way to find out huh?

Steven: *slowly smiles* Yeah. 

And like that Steven started up the car again as Y/N tossed his bag in the back and buckled up.

Steven: *curious* Hey, by the way, what do the girls think about you coming with me?

Y/N: Well Padparadscha and the Pearls all think it's a great idea, Aquamarine and the Rubies said to give ya Hell, Lapis and her two others hope all goes well, Peri (Peridot) wanted me to take lots of photos for her research of this "experiment", Jasper merely tried to act like she cared yet I know she didn't want me to go, and Spinel nearly kept me around and told me she didn't want me to go. Buuut, I was able to assure those two that as long as you didn't start something, that 'I' wouldn't start something... Well that and that I told them that I'd only be with ya for a while till I came back, then I'd let ya just continue on your trip and see ya back home....that cool with ya?

Steven: *excited* Of course.

Y/N merely gave a small smile and leaned back into his seat. As he saw Beach City slowly going away, he glanced back at Steven and saw how very much excited he became. As he saw him paying attention to the road. He decided to do something that he and him did with their dad when they were just kids..

Y/N: Hey Steven.....

Steven: Yeah?

Y/N:......... 🎶I know I'm not that tall.....

As Steven was once again surprised with his brother, he knew what Y/N was doing....and was DEFINETLY joining in.

Steven: 🎶I know I'm not that smart

Y/N/Steven: *singing/screaming*🎶 But let me drive my van into your heart! Let me drive my van into your heart!

As the two Universe brothers sang their hearts out to their dad's old songs, they couldn't wait to see what would happen next. And no matter what, this time.....this time they had each other's back.

That was at least the basic idea of how that story should have gone. Sorry to say it never got that way, because sadly I didn't know how to juggle multiple characters at once to make sure that the story made sense. Each time I tried to fit one here or replace another, something always happened to where I screwed it up somehow. I didn't want to forget anyone, so in the end I ended up with just a massive headache. 

If you're a fan of Steven Universe, then maybe you can give this story a shot. If not then thank you at least for hearing me out till this point.
