saturday went by quickly. too quickly for woozi's liking.
he's now in front of the bus, waiting for wonwoo who had basically forced woozi to come with him. as the clock ticks at 8:57am, the professor in charge had shouted out. "last call! all students please board the bus!"
woozi crosses his arms, shivering at the wind of winter as he looks around for a tall 23 year old man wearing glasses and ruffled hair. "where is jeon wonwoo?" he says. woozi receives a text on his phone which was in his tote bag, making him take it out. it was a call request from wonwoo. he better be here already. woozi thought.
"hey woozi!" wonwoo greets. "where are you? the bus is about to leave in 2 minutes!" woozi exclaims, too angry to respind to the greeting. woozi hears the voice of someone coughing in the background, "ouch.. uhm, i cant make it! im taking care of mingyu. hes sick right now." the latter replies.
woozi swore he was about to explode out of anger right now. "seriously?! mingyu is a grown 22 year old man! he cant take care of himself?! and why wouldnt you tell me this sooner?" he shouts.
"okay, last call! all students please board the bus! all students please board the bus!" the professor called out once again. "fine, tell me in text." woozi says before hanging up and walking into the bus.
and as expected, there was no seats left.
no one wouldnt want to give up their seats since they were sitting with their friend laughing and chatting, also completely ignoring woozi who stood still on the entrance of the bus. the professor examined the bus, searching for an empty seat woozi could sit on.
"woozi-ssi, im afraid theres no seats left. maybe you can ask another professor for-"
"HE CAN SIT HERE!" a voice shouts out.
the bus became silent as they watched hoshi patted the seat beside him, who also pushed his classmate aside. "hoshi what was that for?!" jeongin, the boy who was seating next to hoshi, questioned. "oh dont be a crybaby. cmon woozi! you cant sit here!" hoshi teased while still patting the seat beside him.
right, hoshi is here too. woozi said in his mind.
the professor sighed, "alright, hoshi. thank you for volunteering but do not push anyone here. jeongin, you can sit at my seat. ill drive my own car, as im sure all of you can take care of yourselves without a professor's help. i trust you all!" he said while standing up and walking out of the bus.
as woozi sat next to hoshi, he felt all eyes glaring at him in jealousy. the boy had fixed his sitting position so he could sit comfortably next to his husba- i mean classmate. and he had felt a bit eery while knowing hoshi is watching his every move. so, he decided to start up a conversation.
"hey hoshi. im sorry about that awkward meeting we had in the toilet a few days ago." woozi said. hoshi took off his hood so make sure he wasnt hearing things. "oh! dont be, that was just a coincidence." he replied.
as they both laughed it off, it got even more awkward and ridiculous.
hoshi cursed in his mind, wanting to talk more to the latter. only if they were boyfriends, he wouldn't have to be scared of opening up. meanwhile, woozi was crying in his head. what only makes it worse is that he had brang hoshi's diary in his tote bag. the boy had planned to read it in the hotel room he's sharing with his roommate.
the silence had continued for 30 minutes, which was killing hoshi. woozi had completely shut off from the outside world, too focused on his phone with his airpods on. hoshi decided to take a look outside, maybe to clear his mind or something.
not long later, hoshi had drifted off to dreamland.
CURRENT UNIVERSE : HOSHI'S DREAM.....
the sun began its slow descent below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the city. soonyoung finally made his way home after a long and exhausting day at work. the weight of the day's responsibilities seemed to hang heavily on his shoulders, and all he could think about was finding solace in the comfort of his partner's embrace, jihoon.
soonyoung stumbled as he walked tiredly through the entryway of his house. he had just came back from a long day work, hoping to return home in a better condition. "jagi?" the man calls out.
no response.
"jihoonie?" he calls out again. still, no response. the man had shrugged it off, thinking that his husband is probably out right now.
as soonyoung stepped through the front door, the familiar scent of home enveloped him, instantly soothing his weary soul. he found jihoon in the living room, a soft smile playing on his lips as he looked up from the book he was reading.
without a word, soonyoung made his way over to the latter, longing for nothing more than to be wrapped in his arms.
while they embraced, the stress and weariness of the day seemed to melt away, replaced by a sense of peace and contentment that only jihoon's presence could bring to soonyoung. they made their way to the couch and sank into it together, their bodies fitting perfectly as they sought solace in each other's warmth.
in that moment, with soonyoung's head resting against jihoon's chest and his arms wrapped securely around jihoon's waist, all the troubles of the day seemed to fade into the background. the gentle rise and fall of jihoon's chest as he breathed, the steady beat of his heart against soonyoung's ear – it was a symphony of comfort and reassurance that washed over him, easing the tension that had built up throughout the day.
they stayed like that for what felt like hours, lost in their own little world of tranquility and love.
"rough day at work?" jihoon asked, ruffling through soonyoung's hair while closing his eyes to savour the moment.
soonyoung nodded wearily. "you have no idea. it felt like the longest day ever. meetings, deadlines, and the constant buzz of emails. im drained."
jihoon chuckled, giving soonyoung a pat on his head. "im sorry to hear that, youngie. you work so hard. how about i make your favourite food tonight? kong-guksu and budae jjigae?
soonyoung managed a weak smile. "yes please! can we also order some bingsu?" he laughed in excitement as the other nodded.
the silence continued in the comfortable state, until soonyoung spoke.
"how was your day at home, jagi?" soonyoung asked, genuinely curious.
jihoon chuckled. " it was eventful, to say the least. our little chan and seokmin were running around like little whirlwinds, and bookkeu decided to dig up the garden. but overall, it was good. i managed to get some housework done and even had a chance to invite jeonghan-hyung over without chan or seokmin stealing my phone to watch cartoons."
soonyoung raised an eyebrow. "youre amazing, you know that? taking care of everything at home is a full-time job in itself."
jihoon shrugged modestly. "it keeps me busy, but i enjoy it. it's rewarding in its own way. though i have to admit, i do miss adult conversation sometimes."
soonyoung nodded sympathetically. "i can imagine. im sorry i haven't been around much lately. work has been so demanding."
jihoon reached for soonyoung's hand. "dont apologize, youngie. we both have our roles, and we support each other. besides, i know how hard you work to provide for our family."
soonyoung squeezed the latter's hand gratefully. " thank you for understanding, jihoonie. it means a lot to me. and thank you for holding down the fort at home."
jihoon smiled warmly. "of course, youngie. we make a great team, don't we?"
soonyoung grinned back at him. "absolutely. i don't know what id do without you."
they continued to talk about their days, finding comfort in each other's company. as they sat together, sharing the highs and lows of their respective days, they both felt grateful for the support and understanding they found in each other.
the evening passed in warmth and companionship as they savored their dinner and enjoyed each other's company, finding solace in the simple joy of being together at the end of a long day. with each passing moment, soonyoung felt a deep sense of gratitude for having someone so caring and supportive to come home to.
as the evening turned to night, they eventually made their way to bed, still wrapped in each other's arms. the soft glow of the moonlight filtered through the window, casting a serene ambiance over their shared space. in that moment, as they lay entwined in each other's embrace, soonyoung knew that no matter how challenging the days ahead might be, he had someone by his side who would always be there to provide comfort and support.
and as sleep finally began to claim them, jihoon felt an overwhelming sense of peace wash over him, knowing that he was exactly where he was meant to be – in the arms of the person he loved more than anything in the world.
CURRENT TIMELINE : REALITY.....
as hoshi woke up from his realistic dream, he had realised they are one hour and thirty minutes into the trip. feeling the cold air hit his face, he used his hood to cover up in case he'd get a cold.
he crossed his arms while spacing out, praying that his dream would come true.
while the bus rumbled down the road, hoshi gazed out the window, his eyes fixed on the vast expanse of blue above. the afternoon sun cast a warm glow over the landscape, painting the sky in a brilliant shade of cerulean. wispy clouds drifted lazily, their edges tinged with a soft pink hue from the setting sun.
hoshi leaned back in her seat, feeling the gentle vibration of the bus as it rolled along. he closed her eyes for a moment, letting out a contented sigh as he basked in the serenity of the afternoon. the worries and stresses of the day seemed to fade away as he lost herself in the tranquil beauty outside.
opening his eyes, hoshi marveled at the way the sky seemed to stretch on forever, embracing everything around him. it was a boundless expanse, a reminder of the infinite possibilities that lay ahead. he felt a surge of gratitude for this simple moment of tranquility, finding solace in the timeless grandeur of nature's masterpiece.
but hoshi knew one thing for sure; nothing can beat woozi's beauty.
the boy was startled as he felt a cold hand making contact with his leg — curse him for wearing shorts. only to realise it was woozi's.
without hesitation, hoshi had intertwined his hand with woozi's hand, enjoying the coldness of it. poor jihoonie, he must be freezing. hoshi thought, staring at the boy who was wearing a thick beige crocheted sweater, and topped with a plain oversized black hoodie, and a beanie thats too big for woozi's small head.
