The wind blew across the his face, the waves splashed beneath him as he stares off to the fading sunset. He was leaning against the bridge balcony, feeling the wind blowing his raven ebony hair with a satisfied smile on his usual bright face.

He loved this spot, it was one of the places that  she  and he go at their dat--ahem walks. He remembers the first time he saw her here, she was struggling to get a perfect orange color for her painting and he barges in and makes a conversation. He remembers her smiling face as he makes his jokes.

Oh how he loved her smile reflecting the setting sun rays.

His name is John Egbert and he has a crush on Minori Shizuno.

Although he just met her one month ago, he remembered the date which is creepy somewhat, the days and weeks they spent together were his treasured ones that he keeps and remembered. He seems to be her type, he remembered her telling her type of guys.

"What kind of guys do you like Minori?" The raven asks, the woman stares at him, stopping in the midst of their walk across the sidewalk.

"I-I mean--it was just a question! I-I'm sorry!" John stammers, defending himself from some sort of invisible force that was out to catch him. Minori giggles at his antics. "No, no it's okay....I like guys who wears eyeglasses..." 

She stops to look at John's reaction which was priceless and obvious, he was blushing pink and pushed his glasses for emphasis. The Shizuno single-mother giggles some more and swats that with her hand. "Hahaha, I'm serious, but I wouldn't date you...if you want too." She smiles softly. "I also like guys who have common interests and like every girl in the world...I like my ideal companion to be understanding, loving, independent and so on..." Minori looks up to the night sky with a thoughtful look.

John thought she looked beautiful.

Back to the present, John chuckles to himself as the flashback disperses. The sun soon disappears and the night sky spreads above him, it was time to go home. While walking, his mind suddenly trails to another certain future thought.

Being a father.

It was about time that he should confess to her. And thus, they would be having a stable relationship, her kids seems to like him, they loved his pranks even though Minori would say it was mean and bad while she was smiling and giggling cutely. And maybe when the time is right, he would propose to her...and they would get married and have a honeymoon.

It all seems so fast but it was happy and memorable to think of, John smiles at his thoughts. But...being a father was another thing...He has great work, he would be off for days here and there, they might have kid-related problems along the way, bonds may break and fix if they can be.

A father was someone that holds a special spot that reunites the family together. He would be like Nic Cage in Con Air, he chuckles again at this reference. Thoughts of being a father just made him remember of his dad who was still baking--though old-- and staying with him, John didn't want him to be alone, who's gonna play pranks with him while he's gone?

At this time, John remembers to follow his father's footsteps for his old man was awesome at taking care of him and his older sister. He thinks of the ways of a father, not-so strict but not-so carefree either.

"But wait man, I shouldn't worry too much about being a father just yet...I mean...I'm just gonna ask her out and be in a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship...chill..." John was secretly hyperventilating as he finally reaches his home, fishing for his keys, unlocking the door and greets his dad in time for supper.

Maybe he should man up and confess soon...

Later in his study/office, he finished all his documentary work and now online in Facebook, wondering if his friends are doing great and chat up about their life. He smiles when he sees all of his cousins and buddies online, they were all in their made-up group called BetaAlpha that they made when they were kids, they still keep it because the memories were too strong to even forget, plus it made them sound younger.

John Egbert: hey guys! :D

Dave Strider: sup

Dave Strider: have you confessed to that Shizuno chick already?

Jade Harley: omg please say you did! <3 ;))

John Egbert: nah not yet---dude seriously just because i told you all doesn't mean i um...

Rose Lalonde: Relax John, we are just merely curious, we all know that you stalk her profile and talk to her every night...she will be online in a while *insert smirk emoticon here*

Dirk Strider: You're a creep bro.

Jake English: im positive that you stalked MINE strider

Dirk Strider: babe, i was trying to be ironic 

Roxy Lalonde: wonk wonk i'm really excited for you johnnn she's perfect ;)))

John Egbert: guyysssss :///

Suddenly Minori's name has the green button beside her name, John immediately blushes pink.

Dave Strider: oh look, she's online

Jane Crocker: do you guys think that we are all acting like little kids giddy and happy for their other friend about his crush? *smirk face* :B

Jade Harley: its always nice to think like dat, makes life exciting <3 <3 <3 (y)

Rose Lalonde: I agree with Jade (y)

Jake English: run along mate! go talk to her ;) *double pistols and a wink*

John Egbert: :/

Given the indirect permission to go chat to Minori, he makes his move and types a greeting with shaking hands.

It is time to ask her.

John Egbert messages Minori Shizuno

John Egbert: hey minori! :)

Minori Shizuno: oh hey john! :) how's it going?

John chuckles, he remembered how Minori is quite awkward with guys, even though she and other male friends are close.

John Egbert: nothing much...work and stuff...um hey Minori...

Minori Shizuno: yes?

The male flinches, his fingers suddenly shaking as they hover over his laptop keyboard. He whispers a affirmative plea and begins to type ferociously.

John Egbert: can we up at the bridge tomorrow at 7 PM

...

There was silence.

John was nervous...really nervous.

What if she declines? Because of her busy schedule? Oh gog please no--

Minori Shizuno: oh sure, i got some free time, you want to go for another hangout i presume? :)

John Egbert: yeah XD i guess so, the hangouts seem nice when ur around

OH SHIT.

WHY DID HE JUST TYPED WHAT HE WAS THINKING?!

He immediately slams down (carefully) his laptop and mopes on his bed, face first to the pillow.

GOG DAMMIT HE JUST GOT SCREWED.

He just hopes that Minori didn't take that seriously just like all the compliments she was showered with.

Tomorrow, the day seems so fast, John has been practicing his lines ever since he started the day. He replies to Minori early that morning, apologizing for the rude sudden log out yesterday and defended himself from the outburst of squealing and advance good lucks from his buddies.

Oh gog, everyone's really ready for this day. He has to make it count. John contacts Minori that there was a change of plans. He just suddenly realizes that he has to make Minori comfortable and preparing her for the probably worst/happiest news to come, which he will telling at the bridge to make the moment memorable.

Night falls and Minori was dressed in her work clothes/ going out on a mature hangout (ahemdateahem) clothes. She looks beautiful in her slim white clear blue blouse and black pencil skirt. He was dressed in his work clothes too, he looked like his dad somewhat, minus the hat.

They decided to eat dinner at a local fine restaurant and talk about how was their week going and so on. After that they walk out to the bridge. John was soon feeling nervous, he gazed down at the small gap between their hands, he will holding it a lot soon. He exhales out cool night air out, exhaling out his nervousness.

He is ready.

They were already on the bridge, staring up to the full moon and feeling the slight wind on their faces. John was side-glancing around for a while and soon stopped, his friends weren't spying them...but he can't be sure, the Striders are quite good at hiding, so is his sister.

"U-Um Minori....there something I should tell you..." John was soon stammering, he turns to look straight into Minori's glowing blue eyes. She was confused, blinking her long eyelashes and pushed her glasses. "What is it?"

John's breath hitched, he started gripping his fists. He has to keep clam, stand his ground. 

"Minori...."

.

He slowly takes his hands to where they should belong in, connected with her hands. He locks them together, still having this barrier. He didn't notice Minori faltering face, fear showed but he didn't notice, he knew that she will never have fear again, he's there for her no matter what.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

There was silence once again, the wind picked up, blowing her hair beautifully. The trees untangled their leaves away and letting them dance with the night wind. 

Minori was frowning.

Why?

She slowly smiled, but not that happy smile, it was sad.

She slowly untangles her hands from John's, taking both of them and clasping them together, she shakes her head and patting his strong hands in distant thought.

"I'm sorry John...I...I'm already married."

"Hehehe, you're joking right Minori?"

Her excuse seems to void, it's ridiculous. He knew and was told by herself that she was single. She sad smiles some more. "Allow me to tell you."

Minori Shizuno tells him a tale about her high-school crush, after-college boyfriend Matthew Williams. A Canadian in America, they were both having a stable relationship when suddenly Matthew was accidentally caught in a car accident and caused his lifespan to shorten.

John felt guilty, he was stealing someone's girl. But he still get it why Minori would say she was already married. The aforementioned girl fills him in about a certain incident in the hospital, in last day when Matthew was to die...he proposed to her. Minori was already crying, John hesitantly hugs her, she still goes on with the story. She accepted that proposal, even though it wasn't official, she vowed that she will never find another man to love...she already have one and that was Matthew.

John understands, he was still sad. Minori was still panicking, she doesn't know what to do. So she slowly leans in and kisses John on the forehead. "There is still so many girls out there....how about Roxy? You two seem so close."

The Egbert blushes, up until now he still has a crush on Minori...he will move on...

"Shizuno recommends Roxy?" Dirk was gaping  from where he was hiding. Dave tried not to ruin his poker face, leaning against the tree trunk. "They seem a nice couple, better than that bitch Vriska." He says.

They heard everything.

But they will still listen to John pouring his feelings out later.
