IF THEY HAD A GIRL, SHE WOULD HAVE DARK BROWN HAIR, LIKE ALORA'S. Her facial features would take after Hiccup. She would have olive skin, green eyes, and freckles. But she would have Alora's sense of optimism. . .and her temper.
That's me!
If she had a son, he would have his father's hair. But his facial features would take after her. His skin would be darker than his sister's but lighter than her. He would have blue eyes and a little mole above his upper lip. He would be curious and have a sense of adventure, like his father.
That's me!
But when they smiled, they would look exactly like their mother.
And the way they walked would be exactly like their father. But no matter how similar they were to their parents, there would always be those unique personality traits that would make them stand apart from us.
For example, Kara's obsession with daggers.
Astrid's fault. And Hicc's green thumb, because I know he did not get that from us.
Fishlegs.
Hiccup sat on the floor next to the brunette and Toothless walked over to them, his tail lying on their laps. She slid her arm around his waist and pulled herself closer to him. She watched as he stared at the older couple in awe. She knew he was having a moment and so, she laid her head and watched it with him.
Suddenly, she heard Stoick whistle. It must've been something personal because Alora watched as Valka allowed the water to spill out of the vase she was holding.
"Oh, I love this one," Gobber said.
She gave him an amused look before putting her attention back towards the older couple in front of them. Alora looked up at Hiccup and watched as his eyes lit up as his father walked towards his mother. He grabbed the vase from behind and placed it down on the table.
"I'll swim and sail on savage seas," he said. "With never a fear of drowning, and gladly ride the waves of life, if you will marry me."
Alora couldn't help herself as she covered her mouth.
It was the sweetest song I'd ever heard.
"No scorching sun nor freezing cold, will stop—"
"Will stop me on my journ. . ." Gobber paused his singing as he read the room. ". . .ney. Sorry."
The young couple gave him a look and Stoick glared at him, before continuing.
"If you will promise me your heart and love. . ."
He stopped, wondering if Valka would finish the song with him. Alora squeezed Hiccup's hand, and because she was so caught up in the moment she didn't realize that she was actually close to breaking his hand.
"Aly!" he whispered.
She let go and whispered back, "Sorry!"
"And love me for eternity," Valka sang back, causing the two to turn their attention back towards them. "My dearest one, my darling dear, your mighty words astound me. But I've no need for mighty deeds, when I feel your arms around me."
She held her arm up and Stoick followed. Suddenly, they were dancing.
"But I would bring you rings of gold, I'd even sing you poetry," he sang.
"Oh would you?"
"And I would keep you from all harm if you would stay beside me."
Alora noticed that the song started getting fast and the smile on Hiccup's face stretched further with every word. He kept glancing at Alora, as if trying to confirm what he was seeing was real.
"I have no use for rings of gold, I care not for your poetry. I only want your hand to hold."
"I only want you near me."
"To love and kiss, to sweetly hold, for the dancing and the dreaming."
Hiccup pulled Alora up and he laced their hands as he started dancing with her. Alora let out a heartfelt laugh as the two danced to the sounds of the couple's singing.
"Through all of life's sorrows and delight's, I'll keep your laugh inside me!"
"I'll swim and sail a savage seas with never fear of drowning. I'll gladly ride the waves of life, if you will marry me!"
Hiccup stopped and Alora saw he was looking at Gobber as he was still singing.
"Gobber!" she exclaimed.
"I'm done."
The two hugged and Alora let out a sigh of relief. Stoick got down on one knee and asked if Valka would come back to Berk with him. Alora looked over at Toothless who decided to drop in on the two. She smiled as Hiccup walked over to them. All three Haddocks were together again.
"We can be a family!" Stoick said.
Hiccup looked back and held out his hand. Alora shook her head, but he grabbed her and pulled her into the small huddle they had made. Alora looked up at her partner.
In his own Hiccup way, he told me that I was now a part of his family. I was grateful to Stoick for welcoming me in and for Valka for accepting me. And of course, I couldn't date Hiccup without Toothless' permission *laughs*. . . Sometimes I go back to that moment in time, just to relive the joy. Because what happens next — well — let's just say, there's nothing joyful about it.
Toothless growled and Alora turned around in concern.
"Toothless?" Hiccup said.
"Lass, what's wrong?" Gobber asked.
She watched as hundreds of dragons started fleeing from the left side of the base.
"Something's coming," Alora told them.
"What is it? What's happening?" Hiccup asked.
Suddenly the ground shook and Alora pulled Hiccup towards her so he wouldn't fall. Alora saw Valka run out and she followed her. When she saw the woman falter, she ran up and stood behind her. Her mouth fell open as she looked out into the view.
There were hundreds — no — thousands of ships and trappers below them. Alora used her x-ray vision and saw that they had the entire island surrounded. Alora saw that the woman was furious as she heard her walk away from the edge.
"We have to save the dragons," Valka told them.
"Aly," Hiccup said, looking at his to-be-wife.
"I won't use my powers until you give me the okay," she said to them.
Hiccup held her hand and cupped her left cheek before pressing his lips against hers.
"Do what you have to do."
She nodded her head and the three watched as she flew away towards the battle below.
"Will she be okay?" Valka asked, unaware of just how many powers she had.
Alora used her laser vision to cut some of the traps in half.
"Oh, she'll be fine," Gobber said, watching her. Valka looked up at Stoick, who looked at Hiccup.
"Did you know she could do that?"
"She'll be fine," Hiccup said, walking the other way.
Of course I was worried. I had literally just asked her to marry me and now there she was, engaging in battle while we mounted our dragons and got ready to fight.
Hey, I was scared too, you know! I wasn't sure which traps I could cut through and which ones I couldn't.
But luckily, she wasn't alone.
She watched from above as a familiar green mist clouded one of the traps. Alora smiled as it exploded and a familiar voice yelled as they came out.
"SURPRISE!" Tuffnut exclaimed as he and Ruffnut came out of the trap.
"YEAH!" Alora yelled, pumping her fist in the air.
"Did you miss us?!" Ruffnut asked.
"I'm loving the new hair A!" Tuffnut said.
"Hey!"
Alora turned and saw that behind him was Astrid.
"Hey there hot stuff, need a ride?"
"Thanks," Astrid said, getting up. "But I already have one."
She saw as. . . Eret? As Eret came riding in on Stormfly. Astrid waited till he was near before jumping on her dragon. From there, Alora followed them. Snotlout and Hookfang, Fishlegs and Meatlug joined in as they shot fire at the traps. Alora felt a wave of confidence boost through her as she used her laser vision to cut all of the chains on the dragons.
Then, she went up towards the sky and flew next to Astrid.
"So what's a pretty girl like you doing on the rough side of town?!"
"Oh, just browsing."
"I thought she was with the 'Dragon Master'," Eret said.
"'Dragon Master'?"
"Hiccup."
"Oh, I am."
"She is."
Alora smiled as she saw her masked husband swoop down and fire at the trappers below.
"YEAH, BABY!" he screamed.
Your father is the biggest dork in the universe.
I am not!
Honey, you once recited to me all the names you made up about Toothless's abilities—
So?
—in a poem!
WAIT!
Yes Kara?
Can we pause for a second?
Um, sure.
To be honest. . . This feels rushed.
How so?
Well, you basically skipped three years of training and just decided to go in when you reunited with Dad.
Your point is. . .?
My point is that I'd like to know what happened in the past three years.
*flashbacks to all of the sobbing, late night cries, realizations, and training* Ooh, I don't think you wanna hear about all of that.
I do!
Now, Hicc I'm sure if it was important your mother would have said so, right Aly?
. . . Yeah.
Aly. . .
Yes love?
Are you okay?
Uh, sure.
. . . Kids could you please leave the room for a while, I need to speak with your mother.
Okay!
*door closes* You and I need to talk.
