Neil was holding avni and she had just said she was wrong. He couldn't know what she meant. But he knew what he wanted it to be.

Neil softly asked her, all while hugging her -"hey. What do you mean baby?"

Avni -"i was wrong Neil. I was wrong about you. About us. You're not ashish Mehta and I'm not ayesha ma"

Neil held her tighter, waiting for her next words to come out. He prayed it would be what he wanted.

Avni -"Neil. I loved you  but I didn't trust you to do the right thing always. When you showed interest in juhi, I thought you'll become like my father. You'll leave me. And I could not take it again Neil. I would have died "

"i saw you with that kid. And something clicked in me. Your careless banter with him. Your general nature. You're so different Neil. I was under the burden of my past even though you were trying to set me free. I am..I am sorry Neil. I love you.."

Neil prompted her -"..and?.."

Avni -"and?"

Neil broke the hug and smiled playfully -"Aur kya avni? Are you not forgetting something?" (What else avni)

Avni smiled too -"and..and I don't want a divorce anymore. I want to be with you Neil. Always and forever "

Neil wanted to say something funny but didn't want to destroy the moment. So he just kissed and hugged her. And they stood like that by the side of the highway for what seemed like hours.

They didn't notice when it started to rain. And soon they were drenched.

Neil broke away suddenly -"oh shit. Avni tumko bheegna nahi chahiye. You're still weak!" (You should not get soaked!)

Avni made no attempt to move towards the car.

Neil - "Chalo, lets go.."( come on)

Avni - "It is ok Neil. Itni strength to hai na mujh mein" (I have this much strength)

Neil - "Yes my strong girl. You are much stronger than this. But let us not take unnecessary risk. Unless...."

Avni - "unless?"

Neil completed his sentence with a glint in his eyes - "unless wifey ko mujh se aur seva karwane ka mann ho!" (unless wifey wants to get me to take more care of her)

Avni blushed even while getting wet and said - "Neil!! Tum bhi na.."(you are like this only!)

Then Neil playfully picked her up in his arms and carried her back to the car.. He kept her on the passenger's seat and closed her door. He then took his seat and looked for a towel in the glove compartment. He then wiped extra water off her head and his. 

Suddenly Avni sneezed, Neil looked at her and laughed - "Maine kaha tha na Avni!" (I told you..)

Avni looked at him in a funny way, as if she was not breathing, and then she inhaled and sneezed louder. And held her stomach as she did so..Neil looked at her and then a sudden realisation dawned upon him - "Avni! Dont sneeze so forcefully! Your wound is still healing!"

Avni looked at him accusingly - "How can I control my sneezes!"

Neil laughed and said - "Right, bachhi jo ho! (you are such a kid)

Avni glared and said - "Oh fine. Then you control your laughter now!" and she began to tickle him badly but Neil remained stoic and unmoved! 

Avni tried with his stomach and then arms.. when nothing worked she tried his neck but he did not flinch.

Avni - "Neil.. what the!"

Neil - "It is all in the mind Ms Avni Ayesha!" and looked at her smugly. Avni did not try post that and sat back laughing. 

In some time both of them went quiet. And Neil bent towards her, Avni's heartbeat increased but all Neil was doing was tying up her seat belt! She let out a breath she did not know she was holding as Neil went back. Neil acted as if he did not notice it..

Infact he was going to be very difficult now.. He saw Avni drying her hair in the mirror and smiled to himself. He was going to tease Avni till she submitted to him!

Neil , clearing his throat - "To ab chalein?" (shall we go?)

Avni - "Where?"

Neil took a u- turn and said - "Unless you want to continue to our previous destination..I am taking us back to home !"

And the car sped on the highway again, only this time in the correct direction!
