Neil held avni by her wrist and twirled her to bring her in front of him. He opened his eyes and was mesmerized.

Avni was looking many things all at once. She looked serene yet playful. An epitome of grace and loveliness in her dress. Her hair was open and bit on her face after the little movement Neil made her do just now.

Neil remove the strands of hair from her face and looked more carefully. The candle light was flickering and shadows were dancing on her face. She looked happy at giving him the surprise and he was glad to just stand looking at her.

Avni broke the reverie of his glance by speaking first.

Avni -"officer Neil khanna. Congrats on your promotion. DD told me"

Neil kept quiet.

Avni -"chup kyun ho. Kya Dekh rahe ho?" (Why are you quiet. What are you looking at)

Neil held up his hands to hold her face.

Neil -"I'm looking at you. Soaking you in. I don't want to forget this face love "

Avni blushed a little. Despite the fact they'd been together for almost a year now , she was not used to his compliments and attention.

Avni turned her face slightly away. Neil protested immediately.

Neil -"heyy Avni..... Itna zulm mat Karo mujh gareeb pe. Aisa lag raha hai jaise Chaand muh pher raha ho. Bahut zyada khoobsoorat lag rahi ho. Avni blushed more but looked back at Neil. And then looked in his eyes. Neil looked like a man who's seen everything and then found what he had been searching for. And then he broke the stare and hugged her.

Avni held him back. Although her hands were more playing a supportive role as it was Neil who was holding them together so tightly.

Avni -"arre. Sweetheart. Chalo I've gotten something ordered for our dinner "

Neil kept on holding her. Avni did sense that something was not normal.

Avni -"Neil. Why am I feeling you want to say something. Some not so nice news "

Neil broke the hug and looked at her.

Neil -"baby. When you congratulated me on my promotion. I realized what it means.."

Avni looked expectantly at him, waiting for his sentence to finish.

Neil continued -"promotion ke saath mere transfer orders bhi aaye hain. Just received the message from department "( with promotion my transfer orders have come too)

Avni looked confused -"so what neil. You're a police officer. And an honest one at that! Transfer was expected! I know we will need to leave our family for some months. But I'll come with you "

Neil -"Avni. You don't know the place I've been transferred to. It's not safe for you to be there with me. It's a troubled area. It has a lot of local anti social elements. Also its a part of the naxal belt. It's too dangerous to take you with me to live there, even if only for a few months till my next transfer!"

Avni started getting worked up now -"DCP Neil khanna. You did not just ask me to live separately from you for a few months! I'm not going to do that "

Neil tried to speak but Avni held him close to her body.

Avni-"Neil. My love. We've come together after so many challenges. The last few months I've spent with you have been some of the best in my life! If you'll ask me to stay away I will love as I respect you. But please Neil. Don't take away my life from me. My life is staying close to you...I love you "

Neil looked visibly moved -"sweetheart its dangerous. I've not been to that area. I have no assessment of the dangers there. I can't risk you "

Avni -"Neil. I'll follow everything you tell me. I'm sure there will be enough security in our official residence there! I'll be safe. And imagine you'll have me with you all the time when at home!"

Neil himself didn't want to be separated from his wife even for a day. And he took an emotional decision.

Neil -"ok avni. But promise to listen to me always."

Avni jumped with happiness and nodded merrily at him. She then did a happy dance and kissed him on the cheek. Neil couldn't stop his laugh despite himself. He loved her.

Neil looked lovingly at Avni. He loved his wife. He felt he was the luckiest guy in the whole world!

As avni was smiling without holding herself back, Neil saw the honesty of her emotions in her eyes. She was happy, so happy just in being with him. He bent forward and took her smiling lips in his.

Avni was surprised at the sudden kiss. But she carried on! His luscious lips were immensely kissable and avni didn't want to hold back.

Neil was wearing his official uniform today. While hugging him closely avni felt the pins and name plate on his police uniform piercing her. She broke away and neil realised what was troubling her. In a blink he took his shirt off! Now he was in a white vest and his uniform's trousers.

Neil looked at Avni. She was wearing a skirt and a top that let her shoulders shine in the candle light.

Neil pulled her blouse lower so that her cleavage was properly at display. Both of them took a deep breathe. They knew what was coming!
