Hey guys. So I am introducing another regular character from the series but here the backstory will be different. Ali will remember Avni as a friend, but fortunately will not be crazily in love with her. I just hate that track and Ali's obsessive behavior on the show. So decided to sort of correct it here. Can't promise though what happens in future updates ;)

After meeting Nanno, Avni decided to go with her for the afternoon to spend more time with her and Neil allowed her the privacy. Anyways he needed to meet DD for taking an update on where the investigation was progressing. He was sure Nanno could help a lot in furthering this case against Dayawanti.

Neil met DD at a cafe called Chamko cafe. It was their old haunt and was managed by his old friend called Ali, an affable guy who loved to make his signature dish 'poha'. For the first time, Neil carefully noticed Ali's menu specials - 'Avni-Ali poha combo'.. He wondered and then shook his head. Ali cannot be knowing Avni. It seems Neil only was seeing Avni everywhere! After all it was hard to get his wifey out of the mind!

DD saluted Neil on seeing him. Neil was pleased to have the opportunity to finally be able to talk to DD.

NEil - "Hi DD, batao mere peeche kya kya hua"(What happened in office behind my back)

DD - "Sir. Aapko department President's Medal ke liye nominate kar raha hai! For courage under fire, wo Raghu wale case mein exceptional performance ke liye. He he he ...!". (Sir you're being nominated for presidents medal.)

DD could not hide his happiness at Neil being felicitated. However Neil was not interested in all this. He had had many recognitions and felicitations in his life.

Neil - "That is good news DD. But I am more interested in knowing about work. Did you explore Avni and Dayawanti's connection ? Kya nikla?"( What came out)

DD - "Sir bahut sahi baatein saamne aayi hain! Koi bada proof to nahi mila but story clear hai!"(Many things came out. Didn't get any big proof but case is clear)

Neil - "Saaf saaf bolo DD"(state clearly)

DD - "Yes sir! Dayawanti lodged many cases against her grand daughter Avni bhabhi, I mean Avni sir. Interestingly all this was done when bhabhi was very small, about 10 or 11 years old. She was accused of many heinous crimes that a kid cannot commit. Such as her own mom's murder! Her father also did not support her and was no where in the picture at all while she suffered alone. Abhi tak ye nahi pata chala hai sir ki Dayawanti kahan hai, but ek baat hai sir. Avni bhabhi ke father gayab hain! Koi kehta hai he went abroad to koi kehta hai sanyaas le liya. Afwaahein kaafi hain par sach ka pata nahi chala sir" (till now its not known that where Avni's dad is. Some day he went abroad. All rumors)

Neil - "Great job DD. Detailed file to prepare kar hi li hogi tumne. Mere ghar bhijwa dena, I will read it all"( You would've prepared a detailed file. Send it at my home)

DD as efficient as ever, was lagging at paperwork, and he excused himself to go to office and work on a Sunday to prepare the file on Avni's history. Neil did not want to miss any loose ends. He wanted to be sure he knows the entire story so that he can find proofs against Dayawanti. He wondered where Ashish Mehta was, he was apparently a director, a public personality. How could he just fade away into oblivion? Anyways Neil did not have any respect for a person who had let his daughter be treated like that!

He then thought of calling Avni to check where she was and if she would like to return to home, but jumped with a start to hear Avni's phone's ringtone ringing just behind him. He was startled to say the least when he found Avni standing behind him with Ali and Nanno!

Neil opened and closed his mouth like a goldfish. Avni laughed at him open-heartedly, just the way Neil loved to see her laughing. He ran his hand through his hair.

Avni - "Neil, meet my childhood friend Ali. He lives with Nanno. And Ali this is my husband Neil I told you about!"

Ali - "Wow Neil. Did not imagine ever ki you will be so close to my best friend Avni! Agar pata hota to pehle Avni ko dekh leta! "( if known I would've seen avni before hand)

Neil finally found some standing to talk - "Guys! This is brilliant! That now we all know each other and the connections. It was a coincidence but jo bhi hua bahut ahcha hua."(Whatever Happened, Happened well)

He then turned to Nanno and addressed her - "Nanno, I have asked DD to investigate further into Dayawanti's actions. Do not worry. I will build a case against her. It might take time, but we will quietly creep into her life and make it hellish. I will not let Avni's losses go unavenged"

Avni and Nanno looked at him proudly as Ali patted Neil's back. After spending some happy time together Neil and Avni took their leave and Neil drove them back to the house.
