Neil (puzzled at first and then with a shine in his eyes) - "Oh my god! I know who is behind all this.....Dayawanti Mehta! I am building a watertight case against her! I started collecting proofs a few days ago. The case is so strong that if it goes to court, SHE WILL HANG for her sins."

Avni looked surprised at this. Neil took Avni's hand hesitantly and looked into her eyes - "Avni.. you thought I stopped thinking about getting Dayawanti to justice? Never Avni. Taking her to jail was step one, ensuring she stays in jail all her life or gets hanged is final step. Together we will see her damned forever for what has done.."

Avni had gone through too many emotional changes over two days, they had been a roller coaster ride for her. But this time she felt happy and calm. She held back Neil's hand and said - "Thank you Neil, thank you.. for just being there.."

Shabana cleared her throat. She was looking sideways and muttering to herself under her breath - "Do these love birds not know they are soulmates!.."

Avni and Neil looked at her puzzled.

Avni - "Kuch kaha Shabana.."(What did you say...)

Shabana (looking at her and Neil sarcastically now) - "Nahi, mere kehne se kya hoga.."(No.. What will happen by my saying)

Then she took an inward sigh and thought that Avni can be really stupid sometimes, could she not see Neil was truly madly deeply in love with her, look at his puppy eyes for God's sake as he looked at her as if he owned her! Anyways to convince Avni was Neil's job and not hers..

Shabana - "So guys back on track and then I will go off to sleep for next two days..(yawning) I am really really tired."

"Yes Dayawanti. The case Neil built against her was really very full proof. And hence she had one way to get away. By killing the prime witness against her. It was a long shot as Neil would have still pursued her, but his case would have definitely been weaker with Avni gone. And who knows, he might have broken down after all and not pursued the case as a best case scenario for her. What Dayawanti felt even better about was that Avni would be killed, and her revenge would be over (Shabana held Avni's hand to comfort her on this; other hand as she saw one was still being held by Neil! Talk about possessiveness!) "

Neil (looking frustrated with himself) - "Why did I not realize it before? I would have been more alert."

Shabana - "Not your fault. Dayawanti is very shrewd, she would have made a good Bond villain!"

"I have seen to it that the truck driver or other killers will not trouble Avni again"

There was something dark in her voice that made Avni's hair stand. She knew what Shabana meant but she did not want to know about it for her peace of mind.

Neil was just looking admiringly. He was proud of this friend of Avni's!

Neil - "Well played Shabana! So how can I be of help now. I guess you want me to initiate court proceedings against Dayawanti as soon as possible now so that she cannot order more goons about to harm Avni..?"

Shabana (in a calm, matter-of-fact voice) - "NO that won't be needed anymore. I paid Dayawanti Mehta a visit in your jail.."

Neil was speechless but managed to say - "You mean .. did you.. kill Dayawanti?"

Shabana laughed - "No.. I just made her see my point of view. She will be very cooperative with the case now. I think she will want to stay in jail now.. (she smiled amused )"

Neil shook his head - "Avni! You have very interesting friends! In fact you have had a very interesting life. I don't know how you will settle down in a boring life with me.. (chuckled)"

Avni - "Neil, your life is not boring. Possibly you are.."

Neil - "Kya kaha! AVNI!..."(What?)

Shabana (muttering to herself) - "And here the bickering starts.."

Neil and Avni heard it and composed themselves. Shabana was yawning almost continuously now so Avni asked her to go sleep in Neela ma's apartment. She did not have the keys upon her but Shabana just said - "main open kar loongi lock..!"(Ill open the lock)

Both Avni and Neil laughed out at this. Shabana looked at them and was happy. She was back with her loved one! She then hugged Avni and left the cafe.

Neil (looking at Avni) - "Tum bhi bahut tired hogi... Let me take you back to whichever home you want to go.. Bas train station mat bolna!"( You'll also be tired..just don't say train station)

Avni smiled at this. For some reason, it seemed like a happy ending and she did not want to escape the city anymore. In fact she did not want to escape Neil anymore.

Avni - "Mujhe nahi jaana kahin. Tum hi bhaga dete ho.."( I dont wanna go anywhere. You only flush me out)

Neil (holding his ears) - "sorry baba! I will gift you another punching bag with my face on it! In fact I will become you new punching bag". And saying this Neil started grinning ear to ear. Avni laughed - things were becoming normal.

Neil - "to bolo kahan chalna hai!"(So tell me where do u want to go)

Avni - "abhi to sone jaana hai.. lets talk later with Bebe and try to make her understand.. (she got bit upset as she talked about it.). (Right now just wanna sleep...)

Neil - "Uski zaroorat nahi.. sab thik ho chuka hai.. (he then brushed away a strand of hair off Avni's forehead).. aur jo nahi hua hai main kar doonga.."(No need. All will be well. And whatever doesn't become OK I'll make it well)

"aur haan we will pay Ali a visit in the hospital whenever you are rested!"( And yes..)

Avni smiled at this , things were indeed becoming normal..

They sat in Neil's car and he drove till they came to a crossroads. Neil then asked her where she wanted to go, there was silence in the car. He looked at Avni and saw she was sleeping with her head tilted towards the window pane. He supported her head with a small pillow and then took a decision - he drove towards his old home, the studio apartment where he lived. He stopped the car and looked at Avni's face again, she looked exhausted! He got out of his seat and lifted her. He then closed the car door with his leg and took her inside the apartment and gently placed her on the bed. After this long troubled day, his Avni needed a long comfortable sleep. He fixed up a coffee for himself as he wanted to stay up for a bit longer.. He continued looking at Avni's carefree face as she slept and did not realize when he went to sleep himself
