Chapter 3: Who do you think you are?

Annabeth's Point of View

I looked up at the ceiling. I had just returned from Greece! The architecture was amazing! I have always wanted to be an architect because I had always wanted to build something permanent. Something that stand for the next few millenniums. Just then my alarm clock went off. Isn't it strange that I always wake up before my alarm clock even when it's purpose is to wake me up, but how can it do it' epsilon's job if I'm already awake? Would the result be the same if I didn't use an alarm clock. It seems like I'm doing a good job on waking up by myself, but I think I will keep the alarm just in case for emergency because I might alter my sleep schedule on accident. I'm overthinking this! I need to calm down!

I stocked to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a shower. I sighed as put on my clothes that I had organized the day before, so I wouldn't have to go through the trouble of picking an outfit. I walked to school and arrived there precisely before all of the teachers were there. Hmm... I have some time to use! Maybe I should read the new book about architecture I bought yesterday! Soon, I was absolutely absorbed in my book. Though, I had a little bit of trouble deciphering what the words said because of my dyslexia. The whole book was written in Ancient Greek, especially for me since I was was fluent in Ancient Greek. My ADHD was beginning to act up on me, so I stood up and was surprised to see that many of the students had arrived. RIINNNNGGGGG!!!! The bell rang and many students groaned as they headed to their home room classes.

I sat in one of the very back seats, though I really wanted to sit in the front because I was waiting for a certain someone.

"Hey Annie!"a voice greeted to the left of me, occupying the very seat I was saving for Percy.

"I was saving this seat for my best friend! Who do you think you are?"I asked the intruder, turning around in my seat to face the person.

"You got a new best friend? I thought I was your best friend!"

I gasped. Oh my gods! Percy?

"Yup!"He nodded as his blue hood fell from his face. He used his baby seal eyes on me and stuck out his lower lip, pouting like a  three year old.

He sure had changed. He was now a few inches taller to me, so I had to look up slightly when I talked to him now. His raven black hair was even messier which I didn't t think could be possible. He was wearing his old blue swim team hoodie. He was wearing black jeans to finish his outfit. Before I could begin to process what was happening, I felt strong arms wrap around my waist, hugging the life out of me.

"Percy-too strong-can't-breathe!"I wheezed.

"Oops! Sorry! It's just that we haven't seen each other for two whole months!"Percy exclaimed.

"All right class! You are dismissed!"said Mr.Blofis, our homeroom teacher.

"Hey!"

"Oh my gods!"I exclaimed, whipping around.

I turned around to see a Cherokee girl with choppy brown hair standing there. There was a feather in her hair. Her kaleidoscope eyes seemed to examine my every move. She put out her hand to shake.

"Hi! I'm Piper McLean! I'm going to be your guide for the rest of the school day! It's nice to meet you!

Narrator's Point of View

Annabeth shook her hand,"Hello. My name is Annabeth Chase. I'm, a new student here."

Percy gave Annabeth a questioning look. Annabeth simply nodded a simple, yet subtle nod, indicating that he could go.

"Alright! Well, it was nice to meet ya Piper! So... I gotta go!"Percy declared running towards the entrance of the cafeteria. "My name is Percy by the way! NOT Just Percy!!!!Baiiii!!!!!"

Piper raised an eyebrow at Annabeth who just shrugged it off. They were now sitting at a lunch table with Piper's friends. After an agonizing long time of awkward silence Piper asked . . .

"Is Percy your boyfriend?"

Annabeth choked on her apple juice. "Boyfriend?"She sputtered.

"Well yeah! Both of you seem to know everything about each other, considering how close you are, and you can communicate with tiny gestures that should usually mean nothing, but with him, he understands, so is it wrong to assume that he was your boyfriend?"

For once everyone in the cafeteria was speechless. They had overheard Piper and Annabeth's conversation. Annabeth wanted to underneath the table and die, whereas Percy was just sitting there alone at a lunch table, eating blue cookies.

"Hey everyone! I know I'm super hot because I AM Leo and all, but could you all stop staring? It's kind of creepy!"Leo chirped and the whole cafeteria resumed their conversations.

"Thanks for the save,"Annabeth told Leo

His grin said it all. Leo was what Annabeth would call a "class clown" or troublemaker. His hands had a few faint burnt scars form tinkering with metal so much. He had curly brown hair atop his head and had that sort of grin that you could tell just by looking at it that he was up to something. The tips of his ears could be described as pointy and Leo definitively would it be described as muscular nor scrawny. In a nutshell, Leo could be distinguished as a "Latino elf."

Next to Piper was Jason. His electric blue eyes reminded Annabeth of something but before she was just about to grasp the piece of information, it just slipped away. He also had a faint scar just above his upper lip. I wonder how he acquired it? Glasses were place on his nose to help his sight. He also had blonde hair combed to the side. His arms showed muscle, helping his athletic figure. He repeatedly fiddle with his fingers as he looked around the cafeteria, as if he was anticipating an event to occur.

"Hi, I'm Jason,"greeted Jason as he acknowledged Annabeth.

Sitting next to Leo, was Hazel. She had olive colored skin with golden eyes. Her cinnamon colored hair complimented her skin. The locks were curly and bouncy. In front of her was a sketch pad and a number two pencil. She was working hard on drawing a regal horse. She was tapping her feet on the ground repeatedly. An inference sprang to Annabeth's mind. She finally couldn't take it anymore and blurted out . . .

"Are you diagnosed with ADHD?"

All of them nodded. Annabeth nodded in understanding since she was also diagnosed with ADHD since she was born.

Next to Hazel's other side, sat Frank. His ethnicity is Asian and he seemed burly. The only thing that ruined his tough look and reputation was his face. It seemed like a baby's face stuck on a man's body. Frank had told Annabeth that he was actually Canadian. He watching Hazel intently as she drew, but not watching the drawing process it self, but herself.

"Greetings! I'm Frank,"Frank shook Annabeth's hand strongly, might she add.

From that day on, Piper still went with Annabeth to escort her it her classes even when she wasn't her tour guide anymore. It became like some unspoken agreement between them. They were friends.
