ARCHER
I turned in my once comfortable bed. I had stayed on it for a long time because my mom would always push me back gently on it when I stand up. Followed by the usual excuse, "Doctor's orders." I sighed as I really felt uncomfortable. So I decided to work out. My collarbone was perfectly healed, I just had pains in my abdomen. Other than that, I needed to clear my head and working out at the moment felt like the best option for clarity.
While doing mountain climbers, I recalled the events that happened after the accident. My mom and sister were convinced I had amnesia. I personally had no block in my memory. I could perfectly remember everything that happened in my life up until the day of my accident. For some reason, I can't remember how it happened and that's totally normal. But for me to not remember a person in my life, that said person being my girlfriend, that was impossible.
I rounded up my workout and took a relaxing shower. Earlier my mom told me that Betilla was coming over, to help Ari bake me some cupcakes. I wasn't protesting at the fact that I was going to get cupcakes. I was confused as to why my mom was trying to make her a part of my life. I went back to my bed because my abdomen was hurting a bit. I decided to watch a show on Netflix. I opened Netflix on my TV and started scanning through new shows. I frowned because I saw that most have been watched, or at least someone had started watching them. Did I start these? No one else uses my Netflix profile.
I cursed under my breath as I decided to 'rewatch' one. I reached for a pack of gum on my bedside table. I popped one in my mouth and had a blinding feeling of nostalgia. I had definitely watched the show but I couldn't remember when and with who. Maybe my mom and Ari were right. I was forgetting something.
I didn't realise I was so worn out from the workout until I woke up from a very needed nap. I sighed as I got into one of my hoodies and made my way downstairs. I paused at the last stair and watched her as she smiled at her phone. She wore a familiar hoodie. I could swear I had that exact one. I looked at her again before heading to the living room. Ari was situated there already. "Arent you supposed to be baking me cupcakes?" I mocked her, she flipped me off. "Betilla has got it under control. She doesn't need me." She replied and returned to her phone. I looked at the switched-off TV for a solid minute, convincing myself, I wasn't wrong for looking at her from the distance.
So, I turned back and watched as she jumped because of the timer then she pulled the cupcakes out of the oven. They had a golden brown colour, just right. I analysed her, she was physically all right, if you know what I mean, although that behind, oui. I looked at her, as she analysed each cupcake. She even didn't take a bite. She started to walk to the living room but paused when she saw my eyes already on her. Her cute eyes widened and I was wrong. She was physically above average. She started to talk and I cut her off, "Thank you for the cupcakes." I said shooting her a sly smile. She blushed and replied, "It's no big deal."
I stood up briefly and walked past her to the kitchen. I liked them hot. I grabbed a plate and put two on it. On another plate, I put one. I walked out of the kitchen and back to the living room. I stood in front of her and pushed the plate that contained one to her. "Take a bite," I said and left to my room. I felt my hand brush hers slightly as I walked away. That was the last time I saw her that week.
~ A few weeks later ~ Time skip cause I'm lazy lol.
I was completely healed and I was finally off bed rest. As a result of my accident, I realised that life was short and I hadn't lived yet. So immediately after I got the go-ahead from my doctor, I started trying new things. I went sky diving once. It was exhilarating.
I got an invitation to attend a reunion party thing. It was funny cause it wasn't time for a reunion yet. But who would skip on an awesome party? I decided to go. I closed the door behind me and looked back at Ari who gave me a drive. I was still unable to get behind the wheel. "Call me when you want to go home." She said and went away. I sighed as I saw the lawn already littered and ridiculed by plastic red cups. Typical. I walked in and I was immediately pulled into a group that yelled, "Yo! Archer!" I was given a cup of beer and I downed it in a second. Not literally.
I was officially wasted. I mean, I had finished three bottles of beer, drank a weird concoction from someone I couldn't even remember his name, I think I even swallowed a pill. The music was funky and I danced to every beat. I was seriously wasted. I kissed a bunch of girls too. The room started to get stuffy and I started to feel nauseated. Maybe it was time to go home. I stumbled through the pile of bodies and went to get fresh air.
I walked to the backyard and immediately, I bent over and puked my organs out. I spotted a chair so I made my way to it. I sighed as I sat on it. I closed my eyes momentarily. The breeze was cool to the skin. I felt my lips part as I tried to relax. I felt a presence beside me. "Stop staring at me," I said as I pried my eyes open. There she was, the girl I secretly wanted to see. I hadn't seen her in weeks and I was somehow bothered by that.
She sat beside me, her fingers hovering over my face. Her eyes widened at the fact that I had caught her. She was dripping wet! I reached for her hand and placed it on my face. She looked pained. I was really drunk!
