I'm watching Shane Dawson's new conspiracy theory video rn and this deep fake shit is so terrifying.

Basically, what it does is morph a very very realistic version of anyone's face onto someone else's. IT LOOKS SO FUCKING REAL ISTG.

It's so accessible that people have used it to create an entire fucking new genre of porn: Deep Fakes. There's so much of it featuring celebs like Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande and that's so disgusting. How is it not illegal? These people didn't consent to their faces being used, you can't just fucking do that wtf.

What's even more terrifying is that it can be done to normal people too. There's this girl that had her face used in porn by sexual predators. I think she's called Noelle Martin, she did a TED talk on her experience.

The most disturbing part is that there aren't any laws against deep fakes. They can cause so much damage. You can use it to frame people for crimes, defame politicians and a shit ton of other messed up things.
