There's one thing I've noticed a lot over social media, especially instagram, that boils my blood.

Yes, you got it.....hate pages. (I don't even know why I'm congratulating you because that was exactly the title but this seemed like a cool opening, sorry xD)

Okay, if you have a fictional character hate page that's totally fine. Now that doesn't seem insensitive nor wrong since the character isn't real. Do you think they'd care about some real person's opinion about them? Psshhh.

To be honest, fictional character hate pages can even be eye-opening at times. There are many wrongly glorified characters that appealed to my younger self and that was not okay because of a number of reasons.

Mainly because you may find the negative traits of that character in a real life person and you'd admire that about them. For instance, the bad-boy--who-blatantly-disrespects-all-women-except-the-protagonist-because-she's-a-special-snowflake character. I'm not going to go really deep into the fictional character thing since that isn't the topic.

Now, you know what's not okay? Dedicating an entire account to hating a real life person with actual feelings.

Yes, we're all problematic because we're human, we make mistakes we're flawed. We're all educating ourselves at different paces.

Haven't you ever said something you've regretted later? Were you ever not ignorant about something and someone later told you about it so you realized how wrong you were?

Yes, it's important to call out celebs and famous people on their bs when they're being problematic because they have a large following. They have a lot of people looking up to them. But that doesn't mean you should dedicate an entire friggin hate page to them.

If someone was trying to educate me about something, of course I'd be intrigued but if they did that through personal insults or a hate page, I probably wouldn't give a shit about what they had to say. I wouldn't take them seriously.

If you're using personal insults to get your point through, do you think the person would notice what you were actually trying to convey? No, the personal insults would be the first thing they'd notice.
As would I. As would any human being.
It takes people a lot of time to build self esteem, to see past their insecurities and you're just going to tear it all down because you're trying to "call them out"? No, that's not okay.

Not only is it completely useless and spiteful, it's bad for you too.
Running a hate page will polish negative emotions and make you develop a thirst for gossip, being judgemental, etc.

You'll also get a lot of hate aimed towards yourself from the fans of that celebrity. I have so many friends who love some of the celebrities I strongly dislike. Now if I started hate pages and started having arguments with them, I'd be a sad, bitter person incapable of respecting opinions that are different from my own.

In short, spread love, focus on things that satisfy and make you happy.
